Apologies about the pitiful fields bit offending. I should of just said that very little Winning Form exposed. Cha Cha B being one of only 4 or so last start winners. I by No means mean that NZ horses and drivers are pitiful. In fact you probably see through my posts this year, that I admire them greatly, more than most. Was even looking forward to seeing Cullen, Dunn and Dalgety runners to see the Greats in action !! y, the Galah and Brodie are VERY GOOD judges . I have no doubts on that from your observations and Brodies TAB exploits. Both you likely to go to ANY NZ meeting and pick the bones out of it . (and fairly accurately too) enough to get banned even lol..... a minor difference being one of you seems to enjoy the racing and one doesn't lol.... I love watching Cullens go round. always Near the placings. always give you something to watch. Is like watching a masterclass ! Instead of standard run of mill 'Midweek' races !! or 'risking' a trotter having a tango out the back of the field from those silly out-dated Standing Starts.. lol... BTW the Brisbane midweek AND even the weekend races I describe as pitiful. (To BET on) is what I mean. not the horsepeople.

Well I hope your guarantee is wrong and someone is winning on them.!! lol...... all going well. Unfortunately , odds here don't pop up until race day in advance at the trots. Never for NZ or Brisbane trots. so never get to see any until the day but have bets planned by then anyway. NO WAY do I ever Let a Market decide who can win a race. totally just draw and winning form ability for selections. But Sportsbet will post early markets for 'Feature and Group races. ( the races which I love anyway) so had a quick check and 5 markets are open. 2 x group 'Trots' at Melton. (skip as trotters gallop and risky) and a group 3 with SPELLBOUND from NZ (won last 3 for Nathan Purdon) . also 2 x races Menangle . MUSCLE FACTORY (for McCarthy stable won 4 of last 6) and the other race, the brilliant ALTA ORLANDO (owned by Dunn's , brilliant ex-Nzer also at the leading McCarthy stable) so in a just a few minutes have a GOOD bet for you !!!! Still Not convinced. No way could an average person make money punting on those fields yesterday. There was no winning form on the card much at all. Who wants to back Non-winners?am trying to WIN bets.? I understand Brodie places large place bets , so might get something that way. I did Shan Noble a place in the Derby as the 4-1 for a place looked juicy. missed 3rd by 1/2 head. but was a risk against Krug I spose. that didn't pay. team driving normally helps as What Could be better than having some others in the race Looking Out for You?? Must greatly INCREASE your bet chances being in the team? great. But wow! Just the thought of losing more than $20 risking on say Cha cha B , best performer yesterday in action, is hard to do (and laugh at you blokes betting on slow horses like those ?) just kidding ! lol .. I wish you good luck with any of your investments.$$$$$ I live off punt as only income, (mainly football , as only 2 starters !! ) Liverpool (epl) and WesternBulldogs (Afl) were both $2.40 at the weekend , so looked STRONG chances and great odds. I only put money on that is great chance of winning, not just hope can run somewhere, like yesterdays fields sorry. Love the Sunday races on grass for people out on a picnic though !! people with a few bucks each way, picking a horse name, or some pretty silks. Now that is REAL GRASS ROOTS support and betting !!!! I meant if I backed Amazing Dream or similar (a GOOD Horse) and it got beaten by Copy That or whatever. I feel ok as bet only on Good horses I think can win. and if they don't, they usually go close and give you a run for your money anyway.

(I spose Cha Cha B nearly won, but wow !! seriously?? could you back it ? even with Blair on ? what a risk.!!!! Brodie says backs loose class horses including maidens. hahaha not many winners in a maiden field ?? Waaaaaaay better fields and bets on Friday at Addington and Auckland. (I gave up grass as well lol......) Very Easy to make money on Good horses !!!!!!!!! and very easy to lose it on slow ones ?? you betcha, like that lot yesterday. and if you want to 'Risk' money bets , I say Might as well lose it ON A GOOD HORSE getting beat narrowly, than a BAD (slow) horse that doesn't win very often. What will be the penalty Chief? said a Manawatu Trainer got 3 years DQ for Meth in 2014. that must be from a guilty plea by someone? The greyhound's dog trainer Turnwald has 4 month's DQ and wasn't even travelling with the dog. Chris Waller (Syd) had a horse disqualified from a 2nd placing pos+ Meth swab, in 2016 , and received a massive $30,000 fine. no DQ. He has a rather large operation, 100's of horses, well over 100 staff. guess they somehow worked out it was a knobbling. Is quite indifferent penalties though , depending who and where you are ?.

Yes that video came out a couple of years ago , and is just plain annoying. Shoots itself in the foot, like the shot horse in it, by describing at the start as a honest Government Ad . That's Completely dishonest, for starts. And then the silly girl making out she's drunk at the end, like the people she be-littles through the story. Is she aspiring to reach those levels ? Gambling addiction (or alcohol for that matter) hardly caused by the once a year Great race. Horses have been part of the Australian culture since first settlers. Thoroughbreds are probably the 'Creme Of the CROP' of all horses , and are treated like GOLD in general. Stockhorses , etc get a rougher deal. I spose we were Lucky to avoid an ADD-on from the last Melbourne Cup and Anthony Van Dyck, the favourite in the race, getting put down after the race. Horses live and Die , just like people. and some have the chance to do something that they Love to Do .!! run and run . The beautiful thoroughbred horse !! (treated well in general, unlike us having to watch these type of videos) better off doing one (video) on cars, and car safety ( that does cost the country millions, with death and injury) to get people to drive better and with more concentration IMO.

Well the driver (Jason Lee) got a bit carried away , and tried to loop the small field , with a first-up horse, a lap out, so battled into third place. pretty ordinary drive. but LUKE JOHN tried hard. should of just made one run at them, when first up. asked a bit much. The winner , with a waaaaay better kiwi driver , Mr Anthony Butt , strolling along in front and clinging on. PLATINUM STRIDE now win number 44 for Ant's and fiancee' Sonya Smith training partnership , this year. (from just 128 starters !!) A fantastic strike rate !!! tha'ts better than a win every three starts ! wow that is good. and Anthony and Sonya also had a brilliant 3rd place in the Miracle Mile this year, with WOLF STRIDE. A fabulous effort behind the best 2 horses in Australia from the McCarthy stable, King of Swing and Expensive Ego .

Apologies , yes i tangled a bit earlier , and meant to say Anthony Butt has the 'main' opponent tonight in Platinum Stride. Nathan Purdon trains LUKE JOHN and has Jason Lee engaged to drive , an incredibly talented driver (45 wins from 200 drives this year) and should be winning. Nathan Purdon will one day , be a leading force in Australia training. He was a fair driver too in his day , had a two month campaign in QLD with Triton horses one year not long ago, and won every second day . about 30 wins. Triton now gone to America. If Nathan gets that continual flow of kiwi horses like Spellbound and Luke John he will be BIG TIME TRAINER. McCarthy (NSW) and Hall's in WA have won all the big ones picking up ex-pat kiwi's, and of course TIGER TARA winning Interdom for Kevin Pizzuto too, along with a stack of races. Kiwi's always welcome in Oz. !!!

well the 3 year olds have just gone off in 1.53 in the fillies and the colts divisions at Menangle as predicted. NO Slowing down midweek.!!! lol.... The trot saw RITUER win at 25-1 , could only go 2.08 or so in NZ , where had 6 wins. Tailored Elegance was the favourite at 2-1 for Luke McCarthy's. When at Allstars TAILORED ELEGANCE was trotting 2.03 so should be beating Rituer by 50m. only 5th today ??? That Just shows how good Mark and Nat are at punching out times and winners. !!! way better than Australia's best ! (McCarthy's) anyway.

He was suspended from driving the other night at Addington. still owns a chunk of the feature race winner AKUTA though, which was a 200k race (100k to winner) so will be smiling today somewhere !!! good on him. deserves it.

Here's your boy ! after another day at the the 'office' . Southland conditions a bit harsher than Queensland is what springs to mind?. lol. glad I drove in Queensland mainly lol...... And Queensland had 41.000 at the super rugby final the other day. my son went along. after years at the bottom the Reds are firing again ??? the Auckland Blues waaaaay to good for the Rebels last Sat 50-3 hahaha . Kiwis are still STRONG in rugby ok. !!

wow if you can find something at Addington to bet on , you are doing better than me. ( but yes what a beautiful track) Tell you what , Tim and Anthony Butt now run stables in Victoria, as were sick and tired of McCarthy's busting the guts of their runners at Menangle NSW, and tonight LUKE JOHN starting at Melton in the last . probably $1.10 over there though. Would be an absolute certainty though you would think, in first Aus run. given the quality he raced in NZ.

I can't say I agree with that on form. We run our usual 'Slower ' Horse meeting at a brilliant track in Albion Brisbane today . The form shows at Albion, that of the 84 Runners across 9 races ONLY 17 have NOT finished in the first 4 somewhere in their last 4 starts. Form is strong. This is very normal as do the form each week. (hard to work out a winner though) At Addington only 1/2 of the 76 runners across the 8 races have been even 'close' to a placing past 4 runs. quality would be a little inferior to Brisbane today . Having said that Melton (Vic) seems exceptionally weak tonight. Menangle VERY strong though (NSW) maybe running 1.53 still.

Perfectly put Mikie. the saturation has killed it all somewhat. we have 24 hour a day free to air racing coverage Oz , so the novelty wears off . harness not included in that unfortunately. Some great Southland horses there ! special to me , Sapling my first ever on-the-course Auckland Cup Locarno won the NZ messenger, hey is Young Quinn from Southland? Charlie Hunter had him at Cambridge? Interdominion is the BEST! Aus v Nz . doesn't get any better. But is suffering from exactly what you said ..... "Seems Less Competition at the Top" . Allstars cleaning up at the last one , kicking Oz butt clean out of Auckland 2019. and the NZ CUP and Auckland Cups (the other big 2 NZ races) both won by Allstars the last 6-7 years. no competition getting 'boring' as Brodie says unfortunately. I'm in total awe of the achievements (don't forget Nat had BLACKS A FAKE win 4 Interdominion finals , and 2 seconds from 6 attempts) awesome , all at different places ! awesome. I gave up watching the ALLBLACKS kick the Wallaby butt in Bledisloe Cup many years ago now (but used to be a fantastic moment of the year like the Mel Cup racing) but got 'boring' from domination. so guess that is what Brodie and others say with Allstars/ now Cullens. they might be right unfortunately..........

The best era EVER Mikey !!! hope you enjoyed the 83 Interdominion Final at Auckland lol.. but if you missed that one , you had Armalight and Bonnies Chance winning NZ cups by 7-9 lengths in brilliant fashion, Lord Module winning one as well in 1980ish after giving them 50m start rearing up . trotting ranks had Sir Castleton, Basil Dean, No Response, Scotch Tar and Special Pride winning heaps. I worked a little South Island trotter once called Hano Direct , who won the "Plum" race Interdominion trot Grand_final 1980 at Harold Park. A HUGE win, but not remembered well as she was shipped off to America. The brilliant LOCARNO was 2nd in the pacers final that year as well. He was a beautiful horse , so hope you saw him in some videos from that era too!!

Was thinking about the arguement of Allstars v Cullen Racing v How well a stable results go. Surely, nothing would be different at Rolleston as Cullen was already working there (when Allstars stopped New Year) therefore ALL the track-work and Feed, and supplements and shoeing would all still be exactly the same as last year ??? Why are we looking for change then? results are still familiar. and same as Allstars. Cullen has a 'Swag' of 2 yearolds racing fairly well, that never went around in Allstars colours. winning features Akld and Chch. so is making a great job of keeping the tradition going ! great. so looks like normal transmission is resumed !!. getting Nat to drive is icing on cake ! but Blair ok too and drove the winner of the 200k 2yearold race, to get the $100,000 first prize cheque at Addington premier night. Markie will be delighted. AND for the Punter makes it easier to find a winner! as the field always narrowed down a bit with the Cullen live chances. Just looking at Addington today, without Cullens / Dunns/ and Dalgety and just Pitiful. are they barred from midweeks or something? who would possibly bet on any of these horses today? no wonder trots are in decline . Cha cha B 2 with wins from 40 starts only in-form horse racing today? Oh my goodness.

Yes , I think everyone can see what you mean. It is indeed a tricky affair. When you get a License they have some rules that state you have to 'uphold' good character , and keep within the boundaries of the Law , or face loss of said license for 'x' period of time. which seems to be two years. you want shorter term, many want life Ban term, I'll just go with the set rules term. even then he (Anderson) wanted to break it , so mighten be the best character around?.

Chief , a Lot of penalties (Court or Harness) are designed to be a Deterrent from re-offending ????? yes? e.g 6 months DQ and blemished record, for presenting horse with prohibited substance , etc. (way tougher than the Anderson penalty I might add) If Anderson could go on working horses at home as you would like , not enough changed??. Yeah he's not at races, sure! , but several staff at several stables Never attend the races. It Is very common. so he could possibly just continue on without any 'deterrent' punishment. not good enough . So why let drivers drive at the 0.05 rate blood alcohol ??? Is that the road level? plain stupid as you said. Imagine a race driver (like the many on the road that are driving at 0.1 at any given time) presenting that like , and saying yeah "I'm all good, only had 2" hahahahah then a big stack in the race. You actually race centimetres from others wheels you know !!!! and as you leave the track on a stretcher you could look across at the other driver GETTING A BREATH TEST !! hahah and he'd be like Brodie saying . "GEE I thought I was ALL good, Would of been under 0.05 by the first race I thought !!! " ZERO is the best level for a race driver.

Yep, of course. the whip penalties, interference, swabs etc all 'local' on-course court with charges , submissions heard and penalties given. stewards are a mini court of their own. !!lol...... NOW 'race fixing' is different. These days, Now called match fixing . People are Arrested by the Police!! . normal civil court rules and convictions. Pitt, and Nathan Jack in Vic (amanda Turnbull got off) Shane Graham and Vicki Rasmussen in QLD , all having regular court cases heard for 'Match fixing'. Not taken lightly in Australia.

True, there are a lot of folk with 'Hidden' secrets under the bed (like Darren Weir lol......) that the public might not know about. But when they come out from under the bed , They COME OUT from under the bed like a big jigger. Who wants people looking at harness racing and saying ,'Hey look !! there's the bloke who bashes his missus LAST WEEK and got convicted, winning that race! harness racing really is CRIMS on RIMS !!" In 2 years time, the crime 'may' be forgotten, and if it is brought up by the media, society, general public, BOAY whoever, we can all say.................. "Well that bloke who bashed his missus is back and doing well,!! served his time out and would probably think twice or three times about doing anything like that again !!!"

I think it is because harness racing is really in the public (society) Eye. just have a look at the general feeling on the Anderson Case on BOAY , I have seen from the 'general public' of BOAY. many are 'horrified' by the offence and are calling for the 'life' ban. I am happy with the 'Rules of Racing Ban' for serious offenders convicted in court . Two years seems light really. could very well of been jail. Probably a good idea to give offenders with a 'serious crime conviction' a period of suspension out of harness racing, to show the general public (society) that HRNZ Doesn't Condone that sort of behaviour. and gives them 'time that they should use to rehabilitate', and get off the drugs or alcohol or domestic violence attacks, whatever is going on in their lives that caused those issues in the first place.

A very special honour it is Chief !! lol... you're not just doing your sport for a living (or the love of it) but supplying entertainment, employment and even 'sometimes' money (lol), to staff, owners and punters.😄 you are right about young Anderson, that he still has to exist in Society, so employment important, and rehabilitation important too. like any offenders against the Laws of the Land, what choice is there? We had a dad bashed at a junior League footy match (again) last weekend at Wynnum, sadly, and 4 people arrested (guy now needing surgery),, and also in Brisbane, 2 blokes convicted this week, over smashing a guy with a metal pipe on side of highway (brain damaged for life now) got cut off on the road a while back!!! craziness. very sad. football and road rage?, why so angry ??? bash strangers near to death. Cannot believe it !!! you are right that the incidents occurred 'outside the workplaces' . BUT all contained violence. a very serious and unnecessary offence. just not acceptable. Anderson included. so sentencing from the court (some even got jail) and their workplace (e.g some with a lost license for road offence may lose employment too?), And so even if a double Whammy like the 2 year NZHR ruling against Anderson. ALL Just part of the Penalty. Just has to do it .

Horace, NO ONE is belting the shit out of horses at the harness racing these days. The rules say the reins must remain in one hand , and 99.9 % of drivers (not thickheads) can do this. Whip use on the horse with force , is practically ZERO. At the gallops you still have this 'Crazy Count The Number of Hits' thing happening . The jockeys (not thickheads) are required to try and find the 100m post and start counting (before and after)?. what a tough job it is they do even before pulling the whip. How is it you can't put yourself in their position? trying to judge their run with EXACT PRECISION to be FIRST at the WINNING POST? Not easy to out-think and out-manoeuvre a field of runners trying to beat you , no matter how easy so many think it is. and using the whip as an essential aid to achieve this. owners who shouldn't give them a second chance because they tried too hard to win with an extra strike? ? ? ? laughable !!? pretty fucked up owners then, that don't deserve victory in that case. .
