Well that Sucks !!! surely they're nearly all stable staff and getting Paid. Yeah the stewards would DEMAND the handler would have to be competent and registered . can't have just anyone handling the horses raceday. would be chaos !
-
The rules of racing Apply to everyone Chief. as far as raceday presentation , race rules , etc. All drivers are paid the same , based on finishing position. and stake of the race. You are possibly right and there are some amateur situations going on at home in the stables. But Raceday . you know the rules. and a Professional display expected by one and all (stewards, clubs, punters , even your rivals !!!)
-
My argument was about on raceday mainly Chief. I would be sure in NZ even all the strappers have to be licensed? therefore you would think Paid ? (if not, why not?) and performing a professional duty. they would have to have some 'knowledge of horse' to be licensed and performing their professional duty , you would hope lol....... You may be arguing away from the raceday track ? I really do think the times of your owners 'turning up ' at the weekend for a drive of their horse, or that sort of thing are gone. (Insurance purposes, etc, should be licensed persons handling the horses at home these days, Stewards have Property Checks in OZ to check all of these sort of things , (Probably looking for DQ people which have been found out on many occasion too) Better to follow the Professional rules and enjoy the Sport !!!

Don't have to make a living out it to be professional. People do other stuff apart from their sport sometimes. work, sponser stuff ,etc. Doesn't mean they can rock up and Not Be Professional (Paid to Perform) on raceday. An Amateur licensed person is still PAID to perform by the owner. ? And in a race an owner and a Punter are RELYING on the trainers and drivers to Perform art a PROFESSIONAL LEVEL financially. (Blair !! lol.......) So is way more important than you are saying For All the Participants to Perform at a Professional level . amateur license included. follow the rules. and then there's safety too.! (yes all sports have volunteers) but doubt they could get a run in the Public eye during a meeting or event at the forefront.
-
That's not true Chief . any sport where you are 'Paid to Perform' is a professional sport. You have Usually completed (sometimes years) of preparing , qualifying and licensing to get to that level. (of being paid to do your sport) All the drivers , Every race ,are PAID . It's a professional service they are offering . (to the clubs, owners, trainers, etc) Trainers are paid by owners. Club officials, race day staff all paid. A VERY professional Industry if you ask me. The Non-professional ones you talk of, are the owners and Punters. They do it for the love of it.

Good to see him Back last night!! . Couple of wins for him , and good to see there is someone in world you actually Don't call 'incompetent' lol.... That list is quite looooong. Blair might have the Key to NZ Derby coming up ? stopping the Cullen train with Krug . Bit short in the odds though. Might get Value with Nat and Mark for you ? you know ya love em.!!! (they're not incompetent) lol.. Nat 2 more winners last night as well . 4-1 for Amazing Dream too.

You're a hard man to please. am sure Mark never drives a race you approve of anyway. If Self Assured got the lead out , probably wins ?? Ricky May is your culprit on the leader. Mark was Fabulous with the NZ Cup winner , softening up the leader , so they ran a Easy stable trifecta. As I have said many times , stable runners can all 'work togeather' to beat the MAIN OPPONENT and give all of themselves an increased chance of winning to. RICKY MAY out-gunned (why not take a trail on Whitesox when pressured by that 2020 NZ CUP winner?) answer/ He was trying something different to try and WIN the race himself. If Ricky took a trail whitesox probably could of run 2nd? or maybe Not ?, but was certainly 'cheap Cullen fodder' after not letting Mark lead.

Well you spotted it. so credit to you for that HaveaGo ahead of most of us, but Lack of vigour is NOT the same as race fixing. (hence the small penalty). So your Headline is still incorrect. Race Fixing is a CRIMINAL offence these days and Police are involved. Penalties are LARGE. and you go to court. Betting records are the Best Indicator / evidence of race fixing. Am sure the horse beating LIASON by a nose or 1/2 head was not subject to a betting plunge , and BUTCHER just had a moment of misjudgement rounding it up Possibly? did you enjoy his 2 wins last night at Auckland ??? or are you going to get stuck in about the two seconds he had?

ARDENS HORIZON first for Zac. you have it won then Karrots?? what a F up !! hahahaa i'm just trying to watch my beloved Brisbane Lions win over Geelong and have to put up with a Karrots win ?? noooooo . and dropped the pepper on the floor everywhere as well. nooooo. congrats on the win Karrots though !!!!!

Yes Karrots is starting to show her superiority blah .hat was a fine win for Dr Luk Chin just then. certainly getting some resilts with Mc Caffrey driving and well deserved. I've lost count for the moment as on second bottle and cracked pepper broken on the floor lol.... hahahaa ] will have to do final count later but imagine Karrots on victory dais ???

No worries Brodster. I like that you say what you think. that's the whole idea of a good forum. (have fun though) AND very sorry the TAB has done you bad, I hate that, and wish you well. Blair was UNFORTUNATELY over the required limit . SO was drunk according the rules , and got a penalty. whether you like it or not. He's back now , so Onward and Upwards !!!!!!!!!!!!!

sorry I got that wrong , should be last SIX (6) Auckland Cups , after the Amazing Dream Win . Pretty good eh ??? HaveFaith In Me, DreamAboutMe, Vincent, TurnItUp, SelfAssured,AmazingDream ..... absolutely REMARKABLE.
-
you tell me Hunter. Don't like stable that wins the last 5 Auckland Cups? and should of been the last SEVEN (7) NZ CUPS except Smolda galloped and got beaten a head by Kerryn Manning (with Allstars owners anyway) and Arden Rooney. Drunk from all the wins. where are your favourites?

What does it take to put La Rosa on the unruly for Mobiles?
Gammalite replied to Noodlum's topic in Trotting Chat
Gammalite wrong , it was cantering like a thoroughbred up behind the gate the first time, and caused a False start by disrupting the second line behind the mobile. THEN GOT A SECOND CHANCE ?????? and led easily? Stopped bad in the straight though. so what do ya do with 100k horse now?
