  1. No doubt it's a tragedy. The original man Kerry Hoggard (president of the ATC then) died right at that point as construction was about to start . It was his brainchild the Apartments. Guess John Green and his company couldn't save the day afterall then . was just an idea. thank you very much for that info. John along with his wife and old friend of mine. I went to their wedding at Alexandra Park actually lol. They still races horses with Tony Herlihy and Hughes as well. they raced The Orange Agent. she was a beauty , won near a million? but broke bones in the end 😪. I think the Original contractor doing the apartment job for ATC went Belly-up which snowballed the problems dramatically. what a bloody nightmare the whole thing has turned into. re: greyhounds They shut the greyhounds down once 2016 in NSW for a time, but then the government shortly after overturned the decision as 2000 people would of lost their livelihood. so they made welfare changes in the industry and away they went again. NZ should do that. 😊 as for Entain. I'm grateful they put up money for 5 years . Everyone racing for a quid a bit longer. I'm sure when the five years approaches some plan will be in place for harness to continue. Even if they race for half the money they do now, so be it. Have slot races and put money up ourselves 😁 or pay just acceptance Fees like we DID for Years. Vic Frost (now 80 years old the famous millionaire Westburn Grant man ) won with his horse tonight and picked up $2,369 for his trouble . Just like last week. horse has won 3 races from 15 starts and about 10k this year. It's not about the money for some just doing their sport/hobby. People are happy to be winning . even if prizemoney greatly reduced. You might have to do that in New Zealand. on ya Vic ! you old marvel you
  2. An embarrassment ?? people having fun with their sport. Why do you have to get involved as a Naysayer of the sport anyway ? go and do some knitting or something. Best think ever is that HRNZ LOOKING after the Grass roots people with SLOW horses, so they can have fun . The GAlah was calling for HRNZ to look after the 'grass roots ' .You guys all saying the Elite getting looked after too well ?? 🤣 here they are doing it. HRNZ looking after the slow ones , and then get an 'abortion of a comment 'like yours ,😄 that's pretty funny. Just up the road from me tonight a few horses are racing at Redcliffe . The slowest of the slow 🤣. an extra meeting so they can have some fun. only $4000 races. winners get $2300 I think. 7 Winners getting a weeks wages . And NOBODY here is calling it an abortion or an Embarassment in the slightest ( or are betting on them lol🤣 ) Racing QLD has put up some races for them to get a WINNER. How IMPORTANT that is , to keep them happy. Great to see HRNZ trying to do the same tomorrow in the Waikato 👍👍 it's how harness racing can Survive.
  3. no no no no.... they are horse trainers and drivers. they don't know. they are the participants. I wouldn't even get advice from them on training horses 🤣, let alone what is good for the industry 😎. would however take 'Training advice' from BarryP and Scott and Probably Cullen and RTodd from the South. outstanding results from outstanding trainers. and they SET Horses for Races. this is important. or you're just a Sunday hack going through the motions . just surviving and that's all. like those non-elites you mentioned earlier. without a Cup class runner even. you need advice from the rich and famous mate. Get Benefactors in there . Chris Garrard and Seymour. Dean Shannon knows the sport better than anyone as as well as being a big-time owner for decades , he knows the whole betting aspect. Pay him as consultant? they'll even clean up the ATC mess. I have wonderful ideas for that . woo John Green or someone local like that if you like . he knows too . and is a multi millionaire.
  4. Had one recently at Alexandra Park after the rain delay. So can be done. Don't give up mate. so just cut out Bernie ,Michelle and Crystal (Hackett's) with their unbelievable skill at getting trotters winning ? and Tony Herlihy and Barry Purdon and Butchers and etc ...with records that must be near WORLD records . Barry was near best on the planet years ago when training with dad Roy. A lifetime of Quality DESERVING reward. Cut Auckland funding to these people you say ??? because people won't bet on them . Goodness me they're still winning Group 1's with Merlin, Meant To Be , Bolt (ret) , even won the new Slot race at Addington they won too in Nov. They are near BEST on THE PLANET , and you want to cut their funding for a Sunday sessions battlers . you are a Cruel man . (just kidding) but really these people Put HARNESS on the PLANET MAP . should be paid just to turn up. would be like saying pay the the first round players at the Tennis much more , and stop giving joker, Nadal ,and Feds the millions. lol.
  5. you are making this up really . Supporting one sector over another ?. the elite and all this sort of stuff. HRNZ spreads the funding as they traditionally see fit. Your leading stables aren't elite at all . House, Dunns, Hopes and Mark Jones all hack around on the grass Sundays as much as anyone else . Don't even have a Cup class pacer amongst them ? how is that elite ? just a good trotter or 2. Dalgety's are best now? that Allstars are all but washed up as an elite force with Mark and Nat all but retired. but I have a mate here who has 2 horses at Dalgety's . they are only moderately elite lol 🤣 could of been Elite if Carter pursued the Interdominion with the Republican Party instead of just a Invercargill - Auckland Cup double 😅😎 chickened out in the end . Good luck to the kiwi's having a go though . The Elite . Mr and Mrs White 👍🏆 The Prizemoney allocation for your midweek and Sunday country horses is very generous . Probably too much really per race. Fields should be cut to 10 maximum and run more races . That way YOU GET MORE WINNERS . which is Critical to keeping the participants in the Sport (as costs of running one go up and up each year) Best thing you could do is Race every SATURDAY night to capture some of the galloping dollars when they go out after, and keep some public exposure (and somewhere to go for the public that like to go out at the weekend) all the exclusions going in place to help Share the wins/money really. sometimes they work . The EUREKA (Australia's richest race at $2 million is open Only to 3 and 4 year olds and NO NZ trained horses lol😁) this stops the same horse winning it year after year (like 'Larry' who got beat in it in his attempt actually) , and keeps the money in the country . The BETCHA million dollar race there should consider the same thing to stop the Aussies , or Larry will be back to mug you again. 😉💰💰🎉 and put a handicap back on the NZ Cup and Dominion Trot too .
  6. yes it is hard to imagine someone sitting there thinking , I'll go to that stallion with my mare next year to get a foal that can race in a -$5k service fee race. Sires Stakes racing much better. On breeding , 3 of my All time favourites for Ability ( Tiger Tara, Lazarus and Leap To Fame ) all by Bettors D, looked a chance of being the 'next Generation' Stallions . BUT.... the Tiger Tara's are doing nothing , so he stands for just $3,500 now . Lazarus showing at $5000 fee I think , might change this year. Opinion is devided ? some say ok , some say underperforming ?'. so doubt I would rush off to 'Leap To Fame' when he retires without considering other options for my mare. It's a fickle game the breeding.😁 anyone said to you anything TABman ? about the Lazarus stock ?
  7. Well that would help if they did. The proofs in the Pudding. marks on the horse tell the story. Thomass, Chief and curious arguing over video stills during the running is just Poor evidence. Basically a jockey needs to make noise to scare the horse forward. fright and flight. The whip smacking hard on the shoulder must be enough to make a bit of noise (with good jock style) Flank whipping is applied just to give discomfort to make horse keep going. and seems un-necessary. I notice at the weekend Tom Prebble was being likened to Damien Oliver for screeching that loud they could hear him in the Grandstand. Tom won 3 races at Flemington Sat 😆. talked the horses into winning . 🤣
  8. I don't think the rest of the world is getting it right Freda. I just watched the Royal Ascot replays and there was a lot of horses copping a Flank whipping at various points. so it must still be in the (their) rules. Curious said he observed horses returning to the enclosure with 'flank welts' Jmac rode a winner there , and seemingly has good style. riding hard forward of the saddle. A lot of the world Class jockeys at Ascot this week had to ride 'hard ' to win those Big races in front of Millions. Little races in NZ with very slow horses , are going to Really need some whip use just to keep them going in the run home. They are harder to keep going than the Good un's 😅😄 I was in a lot of races and drove with the whip 100% of the races as you had too. (to stay in contention) Stewards even came down to inspect horses after race's in the 90's. they were looking after horse welfare even then . I'm proud to say just got the odd fine , but they found no flank welts on my horses . One mate got 3 months DQ though , for marks on his horse. Do the stewards in NZ bother to Inspect these horses After the race ? that looked 'hard' ridden ? That only takes a few seconds , and they can be observed to looking after horse welfare, and changing jockey tactics if needed
  9. yes it seems a way to encourage people to use Cheaper stallions for their mare instead of the risk in paying the $30k for Captain Treacherous and that. a large amount to just get a foal. might as well just go and buy a yearling at the sales ?. a yearling that looks great right in front of you at the sale. So a scheme like this you mention gives an owner a chance at Winning a race with out any Big Winning stallions in it ?. I guess there's a chance of small time stallions getting more Mares? but really ? it's like aiming for the basement instead of the penthouse lol 😁 once you have a ' cheap 'horse you're generally stuck with it lol. bloodlines are reasonably important to increase your chances of winning races. (as proven through history really) The quality of race horse in it (the new races) will seem low then ? , thus would be not creating an event good for publicity and encouragement in the Sport. Unlike a Slot race , or a Sires Stakes Series or similar, that draws the best horses and gets good publicity and long range aspirations for the big players to stay in the sport. You NEED the Big players . And BIG PRIZE races. the Sport will be DECEASED with out their support. If you rely on tiny bit players (you call them grass root) the sport would end up like Tasmania with cheap syndicate horses , running in cheap races, that no one has heard of, and no-one bets on. Perhaps a better idea is to have a $10k + bonus for Any horse upon it's first Race win.? gives the owner/breeder something to aim for . at all levels.
  10. Couldn't think of Any 'Game Pride' Pacers to save myself. Let alone one that could possibly make an Interdominion Final. So thought it must be quite a while ago , then I realized the driver is Still going around today according to your clue's so must be very old . JIM COLE !! So his horse that ran 6th to Gammalite at AKLD in the 1983 Interdominion GF must of been by Game Pride . TE PUKE EXPECTS. !!! must be the only Game pride pacer in existence lol. a true rarity. from his 1000 odd progeny Never knew Jim Cole myself , but him and dad George were usually quite good with trotters mainly from memory, so quite funny they had a Interdom class pacer 🤣 . Also in that Grand Final TABman was the Queen Of the North DELIGHTFUL LADY , running on well for 3rd behind Gamma for Gary Hillier , and we used to think it was neat the'Lady' had a full sister 'Davey's Jill' trotting in the Open trots at the same time . by Tudor Hanover.
  11. well we have to give one Natalie Rasmussen some credit . winning 5 Grand Finals . and winning them for both Countries too at various times.
  12. well not many Interdominions run in NZ these days. Auckland 2019 was only one past 14 years. Ranga has made a great list of drivers 🏆 *** so I will try and find a horse for them to drive in a Grand Final at Auckland 👍😁 Scott Phelan : On The Cards David Butcher : Triple Eight (of course DB won an Auckland Grand Final with ELSU once.) Tony Herlihy : Sicario or Pembrook Benny ( and 2nd with Christopher Vance for Roy in the photo below ) Matty White : not sure Todd Mitchell : Just an Excuse Mark Purdon : has won the Interdominion (with Smolda and Lazarus at Perth) and Mark Hanover at AKLD. Zac Butcher : Mach Shard a 2nd Placegetter. Morrie McKendry : A G's White Socks Peter Ferguson : not sure Andrew Neal : Barry Purdon : would of been in a fair few Robert Dunn : Mango : Alta Serena for owner John Green and the Hughes training team Tony Shaw : not sure won here in Brisvegas with Yulestar 2001. an amazing Victory. Anthony Butt drove 3rd.
  13. Wow that was amazing. never seen anything like that Ever. That guy nearly could of been killed right at the end of the video above. . so close to disaster. Aus and NZ seem LIGHT years ahead of Royal Ascot it seems as the Clerks of the course on their mounts patrol our race courses and round up runners like that with skilled horsemanship in no time. At every course big and small , racing and harness. Maybe in England they're used to chasing loose runners into shutes by foot ? and things like that they do at Aintree for the Grand National ? and Clerks of the Course have a different job there.? Escorting the Royal carraige and important stuff like that lol
  14. Stella Frost promoted at Addington 1971 after the WA champ trainer/driver Phil Coulson won the Grand Final but had a positive for Caffiene later , so Phil got 7 years DQ instead of a Grand Final Win. Stella Frost had won all her 3 heats for Doody Townley , and started off 24yards , so still deserved the win anyway . ImTheMightyQuinn promoted at Auckland 2011 ( Interdominion was supposed to be run at Addington , but there was damage from the horrid earthquake they had that year) Smokin Up with Lance Justice returning a positive. and 2021 Boncel Benjamin , nearly the rank outsider of the field with his junior driver and mug 'learner trainer' Grimson stole the race after Expensive Ego wandered around like a Sea-sick sailor to stop Benjamin getting past him up the Menangle straight 🤣. That 2021 Interdom Grand final had Luke McCarthy with a strong hand . Training Expensive Ego and also these 3 stars > He steered the fav 'King of Swing' into 5th, 'Alta Orlando' ran 3rd for his Nz owners( which include John and Robert Dunn ) and 'Spirit of St Louis' ran 8th for his whole swag of Kiwi and Aussie owners. This year next month (heats are in 2 weeks time) Luke will try and defend the Title of Interdominion Champion he DID win last year with DON HUGO at Menangle. and for his NZ owners he has BEACH BALL to try and win something with too. Leap To Fame will Thwart that attempt , as will be Albion Park Grand Final this year, but good luck running 2nd Luke !! 😎 Ranga NOT running 2nd at BOAY yet anyway 🏆 6 Points for your correct 6 horses today Ranga. nice work . on the money 😉
  15. yeah I remember when Grimson picked up 'Cya Art' on Cup day 2 years ago when Swayzee won the Cup for him the first time. the horse hasn't really fired BIG-time for anyone, but a 2nd to Larry last night a handy effort. as for Maheer Lord , I couldn't think of ever hearing of it , but upon looking him up , he did win the 3 yearold Sires Stakes Group 1 on Cup day one year ( with ELSU, a future Interdominion winner was 5th) but Maheer Lord never won another Group race after. Speaking of Jason Grimson , he's gone a bit quieter lately. Still had some MID-Class horses at Menangle going ok last night though. ( 2 of his (Grimson) ex-horses 'Burnt out shell horses of Queenslanders ' went around at Redcliffe in the back blocks on Friday night . Big- time Group performers 'Frankie Ferocious' and 'Hot and Treacherous' . Finished at the back of a country race field , not worth a cold Pie now. (another Stunning work of creation by Grimson. I nearly cried 😢 ) For the Comp I'd ask the question Who Did Jason Grimson win the Interdominion with in Recent years ? but nobody would know the answer 😪 . they never won another race after 🙄 He (Grimson) won the GF twice . But no NZers turned up so was very poor Interdominions and nobody will remember his 2 Winners at all so is nearly folly asking . One was a ex-pat NZ horse though. so How about this one then. for a Sunday Session. 1/ Name any horse that Won the Interdominion Pacing Grand Final on protest or Promotion ? 2/ Name the relegated/ disqualified Party ? Anyone knowing any of them Welcome to Reply , pop your answer here !! have a go
  16. They hit the line , and Larry the LEAP TO FAME monster has crushed the opponents again. For the BOAY lads NowOrNever has successfully looped the field from last to attack for the lead. Having scored a beaut score of 24 points with NZ horse Cya Art running 2nd to claim the BOAY Interdomininion Quinella challenge tonight. $24 payout 💰👍 not bad at all when you have a $1.02 winner in it 😅. well done to NoworNever 👍🏆. Beach Ball the other NZ horse a clear 3rd . ( $110 trifecta 💰 if you wanted to take the 2 kiwi's with the champ Larry ) Beach Ball whacking away in 3rd scores 2 points for top kiwiman Brodster . and RIPP into 4th place gets the Chief a Point as he finally ripps his way onto the score sheet. A BIG 7 points for The Galah too , trotting to victory with the Dixon trained 'Zealous Spur'red one trotted to victory over kiwi Champ 'OscarB' in the trot race 4 tonight. . a very easy $7 Quinella there. nice work by the Galah. Our leader Ranga doing all the Hard yards in front with the comp questions , now under siege from those 2 Quinella winning lads. TABman is not far off the pace either is set to pounce in 4th spot. 3 battlers struggling to keep up with the solid pace, are at the back 🤣 BOAY INTERDOMINION Comp Points Update. Rangatira 26 points , NowOrNever 24 points, The Galah 23 points , TAB4ever 19 points, Gamma 6 pts , Brodster 3 pts. Chief 1 🎉
  17. Everyone knows what you are saying mate. The house (TAB, or Bookie) have the advantage . They can take the bet or Not. and around 90% horse betters end up behind. There are 3 types of punter /Gambler' 1/ High rollers (e.g like Stockman with these bets on this thread) , and the Big wigs that go 'upstairs' or behind closed doors at Casino's and that and can place whatever SIZE bets they like ,( if proven to be financially stable by the House.) 2/ Problem Gamblers . there's a lot of those. generally seen on Pokies playing for Dumb Luck, as have already done their arse on the tables/horses and continue to cause issues for their families and BET Way way way more than they should. broke the limits. 3/ Standard supporters of a sport. Those that like a bet , every now and again, for fun, don't need the money really that the bet or they wouldn't be doing it. enjoy the racing or footy or whatever it is they are watching. (or can wander anonymously on a casino floor where limits of say around $500 apply to all the types of play.) the Brodster lingers in group 3 type. BUT aspires to be a Group 1 High Roller. Go to the casino mate . Christchurch has one I think. and tell em' you're a High roller but don't like cards and that sort of shite . so How about take my harness Bets on ?? albeit, I don't know if casino's have a TAB aspect anymore , they used to when I last went about 15 years ago lol
  18. very good. No secret that 'Wisper' the one to beat after winning a Group 1 for our star trainer driver Pete McMullen at the Winter carnival last year. Chiefy likes to let RIPP at anyone so he gets No. 1. The Galah knows the best win these sort of races so can have Pete's stable-mate No 3. Gamma has some great memories racing against 2 great people Christina and Charlie. so has No. 4. NowOrNever a fierce NZ trotting patriot so gets the ex-pat Canterbarian No. 5. Brodster Loves to bounce around after a Win so he is with the NZ Cup Placegetter No. 8 Beach Ball Ranga is a tiger when it comes to the quiz horses and is in the lead. gets the WA tiger No. 10 Anyone wanting to Pick a Quinella from the race posted above , By all means Have a Go , (even the gentlemen listed here ) Race to be run 7.40 tonight NZ TIME. See the BEST Horse ever WIN . see some harness awesomeness. Post Quinella here before then .
  19. From what you are saying , i have just viewed a few races from the famous Royal Ascot. currently being run in front of a viewing audience of Millions. you are dead right , and in some of these races you notice a Huge Flank whack they give them once every 50m or so up that huge long straightaway at Royal Ascot. one example, CARMERS won a staying race the Queens Vase on wednesday , leading turning in and tired by just kept up to it with a smashing whack every 50m or so. I'd put the video here but it is too disturbing really. 🙄 The horse was wandering about but the combination of the Blinkers (Chief will hate that) and the BIG big Whacks saw the 3 yearold take the victory, when it otherwise wouldn't of. so It is Whack and Win . even at the Biggest stage of all at Royal Ascot. There is a SOLUTION , and a very easy one. we did it at the harness racing . and that is You must keep both hands on the reins AT ALL TIMES. i.e NOT have reins in one hand. means your scope of whip use GREATLY reduced to probably just a slap on the shoulder as the horse is ridden out , and there would be ZERO flank strikes. easy peesie solution.
  20. well there you go. thank you for that . Stockman Making absolute heaps from property Developement just like Kevin Seymour here in Queensland ( Seymour has a standardbred stud as well = Egmont park ) as well as Leap To Fame 'earning' well lol 🤣. Seymour has saved QLD trotting by being Chairman Of the Board at Albion Park, a member of the board at Harness Racing Australia, and recently South Australia Harness honoured Patron , as he pours money into the SA trotting club to save them from collapse. they are 2000km's away from here but Kevin is the Greatest man ever for harness , he is saving the day for many folk down there, after what he has done here , to extraordinary levels. deserves MBE. Get this Stockman Bloke CHAIRMAN Of THE BOARD at the ATC Immeadiately . He can save the day. Tell him get advice from Seymour and FIX the NZ trotting for a bright Future. Brodie says , "you need Revenue though" to keep going. Well . Bob's your Uncle !! 💰 Push Brodsters 'small' bets out of the way, and just Let this Mr Stockman on the Tote for whatever amount's he wants to Put on those Telfer Runners. Seems by this thread that is starting to happen now !! excellent. Instant Revenue !!! happy punting Mr Stockman 👍💰
  21. Hahaha I thought nooo . can't be 😳 that American Congressman Felon , with a rap sheet as long as your arm has run away to NZ after TRUMP 'commuted ' his 10 year jail sentence , and he now lives on Supervised Release 🤣 . have Just seen with search, the NZ Steve Stockman has made 2 purchases this year (at Sale record prices ) $360,000 Twice for 2 Captain Treacherous yearlings. One out of the champ Nz Cup winner Adore Me. and One out of Bettor Twist (another great racemare and half sister to King of Swing) champion raceMares have been mostly disappointing at stud over the decades but don't tell Steve that 😉😋) Lots of pressure (Doubled down 😅) for Steve and Tim to enjoy next year . Betta get them to the races lol🤣.
  22. Who is the big Stonewall Stud main owner/ Person/ People ? You don't see much about them in the media. Steve and Amanda have about 100 horses to paddle around with so no surprise seeing them win some of the races each week. weight of numbers = some victories (and a few gallops usually lol 😆) Ace gun Herlihy was engaged for a heavily supported runner last night CAPTAIN MOONLIGHT . but it ran last. Conversely, AKATEA and CC ARDEN both won at Addington with heavy support. CC ARDEN in the 6th race showing $1.60 win and $1.60 place so someone landed something Big on the nose of that runner. Seems the TAB will take big bets if the 'betting party ' is known to them. Best of luck to them I spose (both TAB and Punter lol 😁🤣) makes for interesting racing. and pressure on Tim W 😅.
  23. PICK the QUINELLA with Larry. This weeks selected race is Race 2 Albion Park Saturday night with a few Pretenders trying to show they can match it with the champ LEAP TO FAME and get into an Interdominion heat run next month. Whatever the Quinella Pays in dollars 💰 is the Points you will get for the BOAY Interdom Comp.🏆 Post your Quinella Pick here , if you think you can pick the 2nd Placegetter . I'll Pick some for the BOAY regulars during tomorrow , if they are unable to meet the challenge lol 😎. The Galah had the quinella in the trot last week with kiwi Champ OscarB and Local hero Zealous Spur, so if they do it again in Race 4 Sat night, while preparing for the Interdom Trot , I'll pay him the Quinella points again 👍😁💰. 1 00s13 RIPP Bernie Hewitt Bernie Hewitt NR99 B2 FR1 2 11s11 LEAP TO FAME Grant Dixon Grant Dixon NR120 B1 FR2 3 6s692 BLACKSADANCE Chantal Turpin Tom Callaghan (C) NR117 B1 FR3 4 35353 JIMARTEE Cristina Monte Ricky Thurlow NR120 B1 FR4 5 44448 CYA ART NZ KerryAnn Morris Nathan Dawson NR98 B4 FR5 6 58168 ROYAL CRUISER Bernie Hewitt Chief Stipe Hewitt NR97 B4 FR6 7 02887 LUVBITE Graham Dwyer Layne Dwyer (C) NR83 B2 FR7 ------------------------------ Second Row ------------------------------ 8 23362 BEACH BALL NZ Luke McCarthy Luke McCarthy NR110 B2 SR1 9 51112 WISPER A SECRET Chantal Turpin Pete McMullen NR120 B1 SR2 10 s9s27 PINNY TIGER Michael Brennan Brendan Barnes NR118 B1 SR3
  24. Whose the Bestie Ranga ? Spot on TAB. The amazing Maurice Holmes OBE . NZ driving champion for that many years must be world record. Maurice did miss out on that 1961 Addington Interdominion but did win TWO of them in his career , Training and driving both at Addington in the very first Interdomionion ever run in NZ in 1938 . with POT LUCK and again in the 2nd Interdom run at Addington with VEDETTE in 1951. 'Sun Chief' the 1960 NZ Cup runner-up unlucky to get injured just before his home Interdominion gets you the Pts !! Hey I see 2 of the horses Banned from starting in the Massacre 1961 Interdominion Grand Final for skipping a heat , both Won a career NZ Cup anyway. 'Lookaway' 1957 and ' INVICTA' later that year the 1961 NZ Cup 🏆 . So it's 5 points to TAB4ever today for 2 correct answers and 3 great questions. 3 Points to Ranga for answering the 3 questions correctly too. very well done gentlemen !!!
  25. Here's One for you TABman if you want to go back that far to the Win by Massacre. or anyone can answer. One month before the 1961 Addington Interdominion this event occurred. Forbury Park was the first club in the South Island to hold a night trotting fixture with the inaugural such meeting on Thursday, 26 January 1961.[2] Comp Question/ Very unfortunately There was a crash in the Fast class race under the lights for the first time in Dunedin, and a champion driver , and the favourite for the up-coming Interdomionion Pacers Series were sadly both injured and couldn't compete . The OBE rated driver had won a race with Massacre and would of piloted him as well . He gave the winning driver Chief Stipe Watts the instructions to get Massacre off the mark (sometimes a poor beginner) and how to beat Cecil who had to start off a Huge 48yard handicap with False Step , having won the NZ Cup . It was Inch perfect advice with the Massacre win by an inch above photo. Who was the Champion injured Reinsman ? what unfortunate horse missed the series after the Forbury crash ? clue = after placing behind False Step in the NZ Cup
