My perspective as a sponsor of races. I used to sponsor races at kaikoura once a year obviously. Cost from memory 600 $ for the name in the book etc. I didn't for years until one year the name in the book was my company/ bills burger bar. So I had to share with another sponsor. So that's when I thought they were getting greedy. I stopped. It was good while it lasted having a drink with Barry and Heather Ford in the president room.
I used to sponsor a race at rangiora but one year they never even rang me. OK, their loss.
I don't know how they do it now. Maybe too busy with HR.?

Sad news indeed. Reminded me of Darren tyquin passing as well years ago. Never called any of my horses, but may have called my dog??
Makes you think of your own mortality doesn't it. I'd like to pass in my sleep like my m. I. L did.
RIP Trevor.

I had a harness trainer went to Auckland sales about 10? Years ago, he bought a cheap galloper. When he paid he paid with a kiwi bank card. He said I bet you don't see many of those! Loll.
Never amounted to anything.

Pretty certain he bought for himself, Barry his bro was with him and both were pretty happy. He even said on Goowin interview he was changing tact with training, I heard via an uber driver that Nat was after half of marks dosh? Who knows?

He doesn't bother me, however that motor mouth Nicole Sims is terrible, talks without taking a breath. Not a girl thing, as I like the Auckland girl Phillipa.

I always remember my cousin being strapped with a jug cord. About 11 from memory, bloody cruel thing to do. Mum threatened me with it but I never got it.

Stipes are dodgy at best. I remember in forbury days 15? Years ago. A lot of the trainers got together after the meeting and who should turn up to the party. The stipe from that night. Everyones mate.

It's the lazy trainers that are to blame, my trainers always taught the horses ringcraft. Some involved standing for long periods. Like the horses first trip away, teaching them stuff you only get with practice.
