  1. Maybe someone has stated this fact but I think and I might be wrong but fast work is frowned on because if you have a accident then because the hospitals are so full up that they can't or may not be able to come to your aid, or something like that, I may be wrong on that.
  2. Racing without crowds, a fairly common occurence now anyway😄
  3. Half the time I tune in to senz it's just reruns ,why they don't dedicate a proper Raceday coverage is beyond me,it's no problem having cricket for about 8 hours non stop, why not racing, they don't have commentaries or anything from Aussie,if the TAB could broadcast races what's the problem then, people who are diehard race followers will get their blanket coverage off the simulcast on website or rova app, senz app,etc etc if they want to push their rating then first thing is to pull their finger out of their fucking arsehole.
  4. Talking about reminiscing,I see Tom T Hall has died, music was good them days as well.
  5. Just to add I now and then look back at the results, the harness site is very good for that, somehow I think harness racing has been in a spiral down for a long time,I know we must live in the present but looking back one wonders why it's got to the state it's in.
  6. What time of year was that race,a c9.i think greymouth raced,October, and March, new year I think too, open class trotters raced at Greymouth often as well.
  7. Is it just me but something about the Cup and harness racing from those times that seemed so much better than today's racing
  8. I havnt had one of those offers in yonks
  9. I see 2 arrested in Northland for not wearing a mask,I guess it's not easy for the supermarket workers who are in contact with so many people everyday, especially in the hot spots, many probably dont wear them properly as it is,I just see a guy in cook islands on the news not even having his nose covered, its all a bit confusing to me.
  10. Are they funny or sad.it must pretty hot in their dress code, can't even go to the pub for a cold one.
  11. I went to the shop today, I learn that mask are compulsory after midnight, the owner says they need to enforce the rules or. they will get in the shit,I ain't ever worn one, things like that make feel awkward,I wonder if wore a burqa if that would suffice,I'm looking for a new hat soon anyway.
  12. Getting back to Afghanistan, pretty unreal scenes really, people holding on to the plane as it takes off,not the sort of place you would want to be if you develop a itchy nose, kind of sad that sections of human beings could behave at such levels just to get away from a criminal gang who have strolled into town, what a mess.
  13. I wonder what covid is like in Afghanistan at the moment, dont think they would give a fuck at present.
  14. So they are redoing the calandar, but will anything be any different? By my reckoning Easter will still be at Easter, winter will still be at the same time of the year,so what changes are people expecting?
  15. Seems to me Oamaru and Timaru seem to get the poor rub of the green, last year they had Riccarton 2 weeks apart and Wingatui and Gore on the alternate weeks, seem to go ok,
  16. The TAB are an interesting organisation, last year in a greyhound race at invercargill they had the place a win bet on a race and if you get 2nd to 4th you get you bet back in bonuses, strangely only four started,be interesting to see if there was a spike in betting on that one.
  17. People still go but you only need to look at Eden Park last night, half filled ground for a city of nearly 2 million people but they only go mostly on special days TV has fucked it but overkill has as well, both in racing and rugby,I don't even watch trackside much these days,if I'm around I'll tune in but tv has never really dictated my life,I like the radio but from a racing viewpoint I've got used to it not being on now, hopefully senz will get better in time,a lot of people must have turned off racing though without radio.
  18. Brodie, the restrictions placed on punters is only on fixed win and place am I correct, and the restrictions are to guarrantee the TAB not losing, what about sports betting. It seems all betting sites restrict some, sometimes bet 365 are known as bet3.65 by some,I'm not up with all this,
  19. I see Simpson just had a winner at Kurow and might grab another later in the day, always seems to have one that's capable of winning, another trainer I see going ok is Cam Jones,38 starts last season, ten wins, that's a good strike rate, just won I see with that horse,Tetrick,no form, yet goes out a warm favourite and wins. i guess it's night quite as hard with lots of very small fields, just looked at results from addington Friday night, gee some very small fields,it can't be good for betting.,everything winning at Oamaru so far paying less than 3 bucks,if the big punters who like to stack on plenty are restricted that must be counter productive.
  20. The question is,what to do with the National meeting should all the jumps racing be in the north only?
  21. 14 nominations for the grand national steeples next Saturday,no South Island horses, what next?
  22. Just to add to that comment,if we are really serious about having pristine water then the only way is to simply stop farming, sounds fanciful but in reality you can't change the fact that it rains ,it won't matter what farmers do they will always come in for critics more,in sometimes maybe justified but human pollution will always be the number one problem because the actions of humans creates every situation. Not sure what's it's got to do with racing lol but hey shit happens.
  23. Some of you guys want to try farming.,bigger farms, bigger problems then all the know alls in white vehicles telling every fucker how to do it,cant do it themselves but they tell others. Just looking at the front page of a farming magazine at a tractor under water in the flood, dont look to swimmable to me,the water that is.
  24. Brodie I don't know how old you arie, probably similar to me,I but as I get older I'm convinced that just about everything in life is declining very quickly despite all the bunch of fucking know alls coming through the ranks. That song Phil Collins sung,The land of confusion, some of the words ,so true.
  25. Some of that cycling was a bit of a hard watch, round and round and round,,I do find harness racing from Auckland pretty hard to get excited about, the meetings there are no better than those Thursday night meetings Forbury park were becoming noted for,see where they ended up. Just been reading about the number of horses that have been sold recently, the whole industry has got issues but the northern region seems the area with the biggest challenges.
