  1. She's living at Rolleston. The way she spoke in the documentary I saw it sounded like she will not be driving much again. Might see her at the Easter Cup meeting?
  2. I know what you are saying but it is a million dollar race so I think it is a good move to have Alford on board. He is one of the best drivers in the world so makes sense to me.
  3. Thanks Ranga that was great to see. Love the horses' name Bush Tucker Man.
  4. 😊 https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/racing/124404258/several-decades-of-training-winners-in-southland-harness-racing?fbclid=IwAR2Hb2KJy0mV4WvowsCyuyAv-SMF66KKsQiKf7f0ZtsvH_v4_zf406LuCsI#comments A positive harness story on the taxpayer-funded Stuff website, who would have believed it. A good story about well-known and accomplished Southland trainers Wayne Adams and Murray Brown. It's not all doom and gloom out there Karrots... 😁
  5. I'm confused. Where will they put the lights? Ascot Park is marked for closure, so unlikely to be worth installing there. I think Wyndham is too big a track for the Forbury lights, they would need double or triple the lighting that Forbury had likewise Winton?
  6. Thank you mate. I am not slipping. The bad news stories are so regular now that I presume everyone has seen them. Front page news again today, more knocking harness racing. Frankly, today's article is shit-stirring by the taxpayer-funded Stuff, no facts just conjecture. I agree with Noodlum that this article puts all harness trainers in a bad spot. Trial by the taxpayer-funded stuff, guilty until proved innocent. Pity, they don't pay as much attention to the present governments' innumerable failures.
  7. Did he use the arsenic "tonic" too??
  8. Yes, Spirit of St Louis will be improved. Copy That should still win. I think they should have put Bettor Twist in the Derby ($200,000) instead of Oaks ($125,000). Why the difference in stakes? I think she is good enough to beat the colts/geldings. She was tough the other night and will be fitter this time. Alladin is a good horse, but no disrespect he has gone backwards since going up north. The Blanchards heyday was around the same time as Barron/Lischner NAHCO3 experiment. Alladin will win plenty in Australia.
  9. Brodie I think you are being mean-spirited here. Yes, I am also amazed that AS won so convincingly but he did. Amber Hoffman has done a great job with this horse. She is a good trainer that improves horses. AS raced far more kindly yesterday than he has ever done before. Previously, he was quite intractable, pulling, field shy etc. Hoffman has taken him to the trials, he won at Winton, this gives the horse confidence. I don't know if he will win again, after yesterday probably he will. You are right he never looked like winning a race until Hoffman got him. Fitness counts for all athletes whether horses or slow-medium joggers like me. AS is now fit, probably for the first time in his life, and it shows.
  10. I think you are right Chief. The previous version of AS did not want to be on the track that was obvious. Full credit to Amber Hoffman who has transformed the horse. He looks different, certainly fitter but on Sunday he he looked focused and determined. Perhaps it was the late owner urging him home, who knows. Hoffman has also given AS his confidence back by taking him to the trials at Winton where he won and changing his gear etc. Well done Amber.
  11. Yes, but that was only the arsenic "tonic", used as an appetite stimulant and coat conditioner, only. 😅😅
  12. I thought the racing was hard and fair at Oamaru today. Usually on grass tracks runners are stopping 800m from home but not today, there were some cracking finishes. Ricky May was too patient on Last of the Mohicans but he does that occasionally.
  13. I was sceptical but well done to the connections for perseverance. I don't know if the horse has new owners or the same throughout his career but your patience paid off. Just goes to show that every horse has his day. Will he win another do you think? Congratulations to Amber Hoffman too, she has improved the horse, seemed to run a lot kinder today than he has in the pasta.
  14. Gerard O'Reilly Alister Black Amber Hoffman B. Shirley Brett Gray Nathan Williamson Clark Barron...
  15. Sarah O'Reilly drives for him, she is good but she can't get out and push! 😅😅
  16. Stylish Memphis?
  17. It was a good performance but underlined what I said earlier that this was a poor field. Despite the quality of the field It was a good training effort by Gavin Smith as My Ultimate Chevron made the others looks second rate. The Houghton and Hope runners disappointing with weak efforts.

Bolted in for big race driver Tony Herlihy. 😆 He was lucky that It's All About Faith refused to take the passing lane for T. Williams as I think he would have won the race if he had. Horses not taking the passing lane seems to happen a lot at Alexandra Park. Majestic Man has done it in the past. Is there something wrong with the passing lane up there?
  19. It is improbable but could be true. It may not have been smart but cheating crooks like Alford think they are smarter than everyone else so you never know. We will probably never know the whole story but at least on this occasion they came a cropper. If testing shows illegal drugs involved Alford should be gone for life. Good riddance.
  20. I read it on Harnessed... I'll try and find the link.
  21. It is now rated the #1 track in Southland.... big change of heart 😅😅
  22. That was thanks to Winston... he's no longer there.
  23. Yes, I will be vaccinated.
  24. Not to the South Island she doesn't...
  25. Another stumble could be the cost... millions?
