Like what Rangatira? Like wanting to tell it the way it is! Like pointing out injustices! Like giving everyone a fair go! Some may not agree with Brodie, and that does not worry me one iota! What does worry me is when people take advantage of others when they are unable to fight back and tell it the way it is! Brodie will always go into bat for people who deserve support and in this case Bronson Munro has been given a raw deal by the media! Hopefully the RIU will go easy on Bronson as he deserves a fair go! The only party that has done harm to the harness racing industry is the journalist that wrote the story as such and the one that narked!

Not losing it big time at all and don’t own a farm! You would have to be pretty naive to think that this bad publicity has not affected his harness career. You have to be very dedicated to remain in harness now if you are young. Hard work, long hours and pay that is not to much! Then someone who sits in an air conditioned office with a computer is able to write what he wants that will stuff someone’s career. Seriously this is hardly newsworthy for the general public. Every weekend I see grown men trying to injure other people on sports fields and they do! Is this written up in the media with the players names mentioned? No we will make a headline out of a young man who makes comments to 2 people in the same industry who compete!,, Seriously who has been injured or hurt in this, only Bronson Munro becausevhe expressed his opinion on something! We get absolute BS from this government we have at the moment and yet they get away with it in the media, it is far easier for this journalist to have a crack at a young man who can’t fight back, The Press should hang their head in shame!

Yes, You seem to be beating yourself at the moment! The article has been written from info given to The Press by someone with a vendetta. The Press is a struggling newspaper nowadays that will do almost anything for a story! Surely Rangatira, you can see that it should never have been written, as there are far worse incidents that never gets in the media????

No I am not Bronson’s dad that I am aware of, as his father is an amateur driver. I am sticking up for this young man as I do not think that it is right for him to have his life ruined by a couple of incidents of a verbal nature, that the media think is fine to publish. Every weekend there is violence in the streets and yet these incidents are not made into headlines! Racial abuse is in everyday life but because it was on a rugby field it made the headlines. Now someone who has a vendetta against someone tells the media and this journo brings that’s into it as well. If you have children Rangatira I am sure you would want to somehow help them? If you wouldn’t then They clearly are very unfortunate to have you as a parent!!!!!!

As I have said previously, Bronson is a young man trying to get ahead in the extremely competitive world of harness racing. Bronson has not got a big harness racing name and therefore it is off his own back that he needs to succeed. I appreciate it that verbally abusing other drivers whether male or female is probably not the best way of proving himself, however he is clearly a competitive person who wants to do best for the owners and trainers of the horses that he drives for. He obviously thought that one of the other drivers should’ve handed up to him and he probably was right, but there was no compulsion for her to do that. It was a spur of the moment thing both times that has got him into trouble with the media. Rather than castigate this young man for verbal crap how,about showing him some compassion rather than painting him out to be a criminal! How would you appreciate this crap being in the media if it was your child?

Flagship, I don’t know the young man that well, but I have spoken to him a couple of times at the races. What I can say is that I found him to be a pretty articulate well spoken clean cut young man, that was friendly and forthcoming. He has no idea that I have written In support of him at all and he probably doesn’t need me to do so. What I am saying is that yes he has made a couple of mistakes but really not hanging offences and yet he gets vilified in the Media which has set out to make an example of him uneccessarily. Yes he may have on the spur of the moment been racist and yes he may have verbally abused females in a moment of distress, but seriously who hasn’t ever had rascist thoughts at some stage of their life and been upset by what someone has done or said and didn’t want to give someone a barrell?????? I am sure the journalist that wrote the article has got skeletons in his closet, and wouldn’t appreciate it being posted over the media!!!!!!

Happy, we will agree to disagree ! I am not condoning abuse of any sort whatsoever, as hell we have got it from the other side! My point is that I do not see what benefit there is in dragging a young blokes name through the media so that everyone can see when he clearly has an anger problem that many of the young oneshave nowadays. The two cases that Bronson has been highlighted for have been during battle, that is playing a rugby game and driving in a harness race. Clearly Bronson is very competitive and sometimes this competitiveness has got on top of him with a bit of verbal and nothing physical. Every hour of the day In NZ I am sure there is verbal abuse or physical abuse going on and this is not reported in the media is it? Someone with a vendetta has reported this to the media and this is also a major talking point, some have their suspicions! I watch a bit of live sport and I can tell you I have heard racist language from the sidelines and it is just not aimed at darker skinned players it comes from the other side as well, so it is just not one way. Bronson clearly needs some help and I hope that he is man enough to accept it because he is a much improved reinsman but this garbage journalism has set him back a helluva lot!

Basil, you are totally incorrect on several scores. I have not mentioned anyone’s name whatsoever, and do not intend to do so. Bronson clearly has issues that he needs help with. He is a young man in a competitive industry and how the hell is broadcasting his name in lights in a bad way is going to help him I am not too sure. As I said previously he has not physically abused anyone or ripped anyone off financially! The old saying goes something like “sticks and stones may break your bones but names may never hurt me” The Charlotte and Sheree never lodged any complaint with the RIU apparently! Someone with a vendetta has contacted the journalist with this story that he can sensationalise because of the racial abuse that Bronson was supposed to have said! You are correct that racing doesn’t need negative press at all and yet this journalist is happy to print this gutter journalism and how the heck he can live with himself if this drives Bronson out of the industry I can’t comprehend! Look, everyone will have an opinion on this, and no the girls shouldn’t have to tolerate verbal abuse I agree, but there is undulating circumstances that haven’t been mentioned. Also who reported it to the journalist even though no complaint from the girls was made? Bronson I am sure will have regrets and probably knows he shouldn’t have said things verbally to the girls but to have it brought out in the media for everyone to see is well over the top and does not help a young man who is trying to make his way in life in a very hard industry. Totally agree that Bronson should not have given the girls a gobfull. I remember seeing the race and after the line I couldn’t tell,whether it was lighthearted banter or serious! There actually is a helluva lot more to this story than was printed by the media, and who reported this story to the media is the interesting point and is really garbage journalism and didn’t need reporting. FFS there is abuse to malr and females everyday In the workforce and socialising and that isn’t reported is it? Is it due to the racial comment on the football field that has brought this up or is it someone holding a vendetta against someone???? Obviously Bronson Has a bit of an impulsive nature which is not uncommon amongst many of our young nowadays! Seriously though how would you appreciate it if your child who is trying really hard to make a name for himself in the harness industry makes headlines for the wrong reason??? Totally Rangatira, but you could probably drive me to drink! The fact is that Blair’s book of drives was not a helluva lot better than Mathew Williamson’s book of drives on paper. The fact is that Blair is a gifted and talented reinsman, The fact is that the Williamson’s would never have been at $5 in the Drivers Challenge if Dexter was taken out of the Fixed Odds market!! The fact is that both of the Williamson’s drive the Forbury track very well and are often favourites to take out drivers challenges when they drive down south, that is the point I was trying to make. As I say semantics only and got nothing to do with the original posting!

With respect Rangatira, I do not set the markets for fixed odds for harness racing. It is not an exact science and most of the time the Bookies are just guessing and if there is a big punt then they either restrict the amount and then adjust the price. The fact that any other driver may have been 5 times less likely to win than Blair has nothing to do,with it as the market was framed around Dexter clearly winning. Matthew Williamson had a very good book of drives. He had 2 wins which have him 6 points as to Blair’s 11 I think! Matthew also had 4 fourths so he was close up several times but no points. Had the fourth placed horses tried a bit harder then he would have finished very close to Blair even at least drawn. Matthew Williamson and brother Nathan have won numerous drivers challenges over the years including a Forbury and I would be sure that there is no way that Blair would’ve been as short as $1.12 or thereabouts. Only semantics anyway as it never happened.

I obviously do not set the odds, but Blair would not have been as short as $1.12 Nathan and Matthew Williamson both had a good book of drives and there were others as well.

Why Tim would start it in the Cup I am not sure because it has no chance and I am sure he is scratching his head about how it is going.
