  1. Happy, you can not do that!,,, The Animal Rights activists will be up in arms as cruelty to horses!
  2. Flagship, wouldn’t say dead just yet, but certainly not looking promising while Scoobs and Farty are at the helm. Probably need to appoint liquidators in the future though!
  3. If Borntobeastar trots all the way, she would have to win the way she has been going. She is by far the quickest in the field and has a bright future as she is only a 3 year old. Last start overraced and had them covered until about 100m out and wasn’t beaten much by Flyinover and she won again last night in good field. Wouldnt back her at $2 odd though. Fields are abit small to get good odds but there definitely is money to be made on a few of the races.
  4. Brodie on the money once again CrossCodes. My Field Marshall showed that he is not very flash at middle distance. Yes he was checked but was battling at the time and showed that he would have absolutely no chance in the NZ Cup if Tim Butt was silly enough to bring him over, but I think you will find that he will only be concentrating on the shorter distances. As for Let It Ride, geez he has improved a ton since being in Oz. Yes he always showed p,entry here, but what a win tonight!! GOOOOOO BOOOOOY YEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAA Go the mighty ALLSTARS shit, sorry he not AllStars.
  5. The thing with Blair Orange is that he drives so consistently and seems to know a horses ability or limitations. Very rarely does he have a poor drive and clearly does his homework.
  6. Resort but I believe it has gone through to the keeper with you , on this one! Notging too hard for Brodie! To get money invested on the Drivers Challenge all they had to do was take Dex out of the market, Blair as favourite and then whoever else that had a few drives in and then any other driver. Doubt whether there would’ve been that much invested on the challenge initially!
  7. When there is a stinking hot favourite take them out, Then frame it from there! They can do anything with a bit of thought,
  8. Ok I will own it if that makes you feel better! I did say probably didn’t I?
  9. Rangatira, sorry but what part of what is the point of the TAB Bookies offering a drivers challenge market when there is a stinking hot favourite at$1.06 do you not understand?
  10. Of course I shouldn’t be restricted! The point of the posting was that with such short priced favourites in the market it totally stunts wagering on that event. How many clowns took Dexter at $1.06? No one in Their right mind! How many took Blair? Hopefully quite a few but surely they need to be looking at things to attract the most wagering?? I didn’t actually say that Dexter was going to win the drivers challenge either, it was just the ridiculously short odds not worth taking!!!
  11. Just take Dexter out and then Blair would be the favourite and adjust it accordingly. Pointless really when something is so damn short, defies any sort of logic as you would have to be a bit simple to back Dex at 1.06
  12. Yes I know I have brought this up before, but I am hoping that someone from the TAB is reading the posts on this great site! The Drivers Challenge at Forbury tonight has Dexter Dunn at $1.06 to win it and then B,air at $7.00 Clearly they think Dexter is going to win it so is there anyone who would wager enough at $1.06 to make it worthwhile so it is hardly a CHALLENGE! Some might back Blair at 7 but they are probably dreaming if they think they are going to collect! Why on earth don’t they just take Dexter out of the Challenge it would make it far more interesting and the TAB is going to get more money on as it is hard to see anyone with much nouse investing! Same with Fixed Odds win and place when there is a totally stinking hot favourite that would need to fall over to lose like we have had a couple of times recently!!! Makes too much sense though for the TAB, so prove me wrong TAB and start taking the stinking hot favourites out of the Fixed Odds betting!! !
  13. Reality is that most of the intelligent posters who were contributing most on RC got pissed Off with Scoobs in the end, and he is not capable of running that site. Truth can hurt Scoobs and you were naive to think that the crap that you allowed from several of your mates given to intelligent posters was going to be tolerated indefinitely. RC days are numbered and Scoobs you can quote me on that! They are going to abandon the sinking ship but you can leave the farting one with you!
  14. Locharburn would’ve been one of better ones if he had stayed sound. Big strong horse as a 3 year old but always appeared to be a. Bit unsound even when he was winning, as he would go rough at times Would be an amazing effort if he was to get back and start winning but hard to see with his past problems
  15. Wash your mouth out Flagship!
  16. 53. Shocking drive 54. Missed out on this weeks mainly therapeutic blood work 55 Would need to start now to beat that other crowd 56 Distance too far 57 Distance too short We could go on and on but yeah it is a great article Newmarket.
  17. That race run in March 1986, so 32 years ago and they were racing for 45k and compare that to what the training fees and costs would’ve been back then to training fees and stakes today!!! What chance have you got of making enough money to make it pay nowadays and when you are racing horses that have mainly therapeutic blood work!! Doubt also that in March that you would get a field of 14 horses as half the field would come from one stable! How things have changed and certainly not for the betterment of the harness industry, but then there are some knobs that think differently, but they have a hidden agenda haven’t they?
  18. Hi Robert, Yes He was a real iron horse! He wore the shadow roll and wasn’t that big but compact, and tried hard every start. Ran a lot of placing in the open class races, but do not think that he won any of the big big races.
  19. Might be missing the blood transfusions?????
  20. Na it was not that long after dollars and cents came in. Yes I started very young with the punting, with mum putting on the bets at the TAB, handwritten on the yellow or green tickets Many thousands of people at Addington on a Saturday night, manual totalisator board out the back and mum queueing up to exchange the double ticket for the second leg when you got the first in! Ah those good old days!
  21. Yes think you are right Happy. Was he driven by Dexter or Blair that day?
  22. When I was very young and my mum would put a small amount on for me, the two open class horses I loved were Stella Frost and Hi Foyle. Both always had something about them and both always tried hard and mostly paid a place dividend.
  23. Celestial Arden left these shores for Australia not too long ago. Started Racing I believe over in Oz at Menangle and has won quite a few races and last night was just beaten into second in the Sunshine Sprint in Brisbane. Celestial Arden was a pretty useful horse trained by Grant Payne when he was in Canterbury. He won a few races and was pretty consistent but it just shows you how good horses can improve and become extremely good horses when they race over one mile. I don’t have to reinstate that I hate Mile Racing and the less we have in NZ the better, but there must be a helluva lot of horses racing in NZ that are not that competitive here, that could become an extremely good horse in Oz if it was racing over the mile or shorter distances.
  24. No it wasn’t I have put my disguise away until the end of the week. First shake for awhile. We are pretty hardened people in Chch and used to earthquakes, it is just when Scoobs calls “Brodie” a “Cry Baby” that he has trouble handling it!!!!!
  25. They have been a bit better recently which is all one can ask! They will be better off profit wise as well.q
