  1. What on earth is confusing Ranga? Are you wanting to take up my challenge then???
  2. Beteasy has become a n entity that has bought several betting agencies! I can tell you now that I have been refused by two betting agencies in Oz of being able to put bets on harness racing!!! Yes I have not been investing like I previously have, but I have tried a few times over the holiday period and everytime my wager has been reduced to netting of $1k! Now Newmarket, if you do not beleive me then I am prepared to put up say $20k to prove that I am indeed restricted to this amount! Please respond whether you are prepared to, take up my challenge in NZ!!!!! I find it a bit offensive for you to question my honesty!! I await your response!
  3. Why can we not lump on large amounts wanting to find value ? Because the TAB wants to restrict us!!
  4. I wouldn’t guarantee that Happy! I beleive that with the TAB Bookmakers offering far shittier odds than what they used to, it has made Punters make far more riskier or dumb bets! Yes of course the horse probably would’ve won if it began well and they wanted to win but basically risking $4;500 to double your money first up from the stand wasn’t great value in my very humble opinion! Thing is that the Bookies won’t take big place bets now and seems to have a limit of $1000net win before they kill the odds! They need to grow some really!,,
  5. Didn’t look, like they wanted to win for some strange reason? Had an opportunity to come off a lap from home but just sat! That is why you will not make money by punting hot favourites like that, and that includes following the AllStars stable!
  6. Thought the same Happy, but did seem a bit of a silly bet for the reward! Trainer wasn’t overly confident as well!
  7. Fair enough but it is subsidised!
  8. Fair enough but I think you are living in desperation if you are a trainer thinking a 13 year old trotting mare will be competitive against pacers though! With it starting it does make for a 3rd tote div. I suppose but it won’t make any real difference as no one should be backing it! Not too sure why you would bother taking the poor, old thing off your property to run for the sheer hell of it? How can running these 4 races be of any worth to the harness industry ?
  9. I note that Above The Rest the 13 year old mare is lining up in the 3rd race for harness at Tauherinikau tomorrow! It is only a small field but you would, wonder what the owner trainer and driver are thinking really wouldn’t you? Unless all the field falls over there would be no chance of the horse being that competitive when it is a trotter racing against PACERS!!!! When the horse was nominated were they aware that the race was for PACERS? It is not as if the horse hasn’t had racing as it dropped out at its previous start against slow trotters, so what is the real benefit of it starting apart from making up numbers, and you would need a rat in your head to be backing it!! Compare Mile rates of the pacers to the mile rates that Above The Rest has been going and you would say “you are dreaming Jonesy” Extremely rare nowadays for a trotter to race in a pacing race but there can be no way in hell that this horse will finish close up against pacers although the grass will help I suppose, but it won’t be getting any stake money.
  10. Monopoly or domination not great for any industry
  11. Don’t really believe that those horses run on carrots!!!
  12. Point being a monopoly is not great for any industry, not about what someone is charging!!!!!!!
  13. Not for the no. Of wins? Was it UDR?
  14. And that is a bad thing? There would be a lot more owners around if AllStars weren’t here! Seriously you can have your head in the sand and think that domination in anything is good but it isn’t! If there was only one supermarket in a town then there is no competition and they can charge anything they like. Reality is that one trainer filling the placing in most of the big races is a big negative for the harness industry going foreword! Wont affect me whatsoever but what you will find over the next couple,of years is owners and Trainers just giving it away, as not profitable. You only need to look oncourse at meetings to see the age of the patrons and nothing coming thru youth wise. Young generation will not have the disposable cash to pay training bills of 2 to 3k per month!!!
  15. Harness in the North is pretty well stuffed and the junior rank no.s are minimal which means there are fewer and fewer young ones wanting to try and make a living out of harness racing! They would struggle to fill junior races if it wasn’t from former Southaisland Juniors now working up there e.g. Luke Whittaker, Craig Smith etc. Stakes are good up in Auckland but then the training costs are much higher. Hopefully it will be stimulated by the apartment sales but I wouldn’t be betting on it as the old owners and trainers move on and aren’t replaced by any new Blood! The plu dering o group races in Auckland is also a huge negative for anyvowner up there knowing they won’t get any return on their dollar! Negative but true facts!
  16. Yes, I think it only fair that Mark and Nat move to North America as they have achieved everything in NZ! Nat wouldn’t be able to go just at the moment though! It is a given that if this juggernaught does stay in NZ then Harness Racing is going to continue to decrease in numbers! Purdon will need to move at some stage as there won’t be harness racing in 10 years time to any degree! No tall poppy syndrome but personally beleive that this total domination from this one stable is one Of the biggest problems we have in harness racing going forward! Owners and trainers have had a gutsful Of not being able to have a chance of picking up major stakes! Why on earth would Owners in the future bother paying out thousands to send their horses to Auckland just to try and complete with the AllStars in big races? The sale of horses overseas is going to continue unabated and breeding no.s will drop still! Love the harness racing game but am turned off by this domination on behalf of all the enthusiasts that throw a lot of their hard earned money into the sport and get buggerall return! Just on passing, Has the Darkside gone into recess for the holidays as there is absolutely no one posting anything over there. RIP!
  17. Hope you feel better now Retarded Driver? Marcoola went massive and normally would have won with the effort it put in! Personally don’t think you should be calling Clint Ford retarded, as he is one of the nicest blokes you would possibly meet! The whole Ford/Tomlinson Family are lovely people and have done a helluva lot for harness racing! I am not totally sure but I think Ken ford started this racing thing, and possibly doesnt come from a racing background. I certainly have been wrapped with them winning 2 Dominion Trots in a row and I would much prefer them to win than the stable that totally dominates. Retarded Driver, I feel your pain if you backed Marcoola, but you will get that from time to time from backing hotpots! you will get over it and have a Happy New Year!
  18. The Stipes consistently get it effing wrong! Drivers get done for trying and Tony Herlihy in Auckland Clearly cheated and yet gets to hold a race! The so called RIU is no such thing, and needs to change its name!
  19. Great, if I can jinx one stable so that the stakes are spread around other stables, then my job is done! Maybe today’s racing is not too bad after all! Didnt go to Akaroa, go tomorrow as I am loving the racing!
  20. Newmarket,, but they can not collect money off horses!! Why would Stevie bother to renew his license again? HRNZ need to review things majorly if they are going to have an industry in 5 years time!
  21. Second day at Westport, last race, the Stipes nailed Stevie Goulding for using the whip excessively and fined him $300. Yep well done Stipes on picking up that he had used the whip 14 times rather than the permitted 10 times! He used back handers which seemed to be hard to decipher but you Stipes are far cleverer than that. Stevie Goulding was a joint winner of the junior drivers award with Robbie Close one year. He is now out of his Junior time and has barely driven the last year or so as he has found other employment. Stevie is a very likeable young bloke who had enough sense to not be reliant on being involved in harness racing as he has got the intelligence to realise that there is barely a living in the industry for young participants. The fact that these Stipes have to follow such a blatantly stupid rule aimed solely at taking money off our drivers to Full the coffers of HRNZ is so wrong!!! Stevie Goulding came out of harness racing semi retirement to try his best for the owners and trainer of the horse he was driving, and runs second with a very good drive and then is hammered by a fine of $300, which would be more than his driving fee!! Yes I know I wank on all the time about this excessive whip rule, but my reasoning is that if Brodie continues to wank on enough, then you may decide to review it!!! The bit about appeasing SAFE is just blatant BS!! HRNZ it is Xmas time, why don’t you refund Mr Goulding the $300 that you took off him, because he wanted to win a race for the punter, owner and trainer! What was he meant to do? Not drive his horse out????
  22. Race Cafe R.I.P. The site used to be very good when I first started and there was great topics and debate? Then there were a few clowns that came on and just argued for the sheer hell of it! They were allowed to get away with it and it just deteriorated! I am not totally sure why I was given the heave ho? I think it might have been because the great inspirational leader didn’t like me calling myself “The Brodster”. Not sure how I even named myself that really lol?
  23. Probably Akaroa and Duvauchelles! Get house sickness otherwise lol The excitement from watching Auckland might push me over the edge!
  24. I think that Winton would be better for investing and watching! Auckland divs will be small and racing pretty predictable Might get out and about today. Good punting everyone and a great New Year to one and all!
  25. That’s very cruel Hesi! A punishment worse than death!
