  1. t The HRNZ board would like to understand why , how about 25,000 year to race a horse and possibly take home 5,000 for your first win
  2. The overall cost to have a board member is possibly close to the figure you quote when you add up travel, accommodation etc
  3. Tell them their Dreaming
  4. Sorry to burst your bubble but board members at hrnz were paid about 20grand a year ago, I haven't got more recent info but wouldn't think it would of gone up since dye to covid etc
  5. Next you will want a covered stand for the crusaders to play under
  6. Love the new duck ,definitely could be a unhinged star.
  7. No but I can tell you Lamb and Hayward funeral directors use Addington alot , just saying.
  8. Their probably thinking let's try and make some money and put into stakes, just incase you didn't realize Addington is also an event center. Just to really make your day I invited a few of them to watch a race out front on the platform. If you ventured upstairs to level one you would have seen it was a very much family oriented event. Feel free to check out harness racing unhinged on Facebook to see for yourself.
  9. Sorry ranga reply was for the spatch
  10. Amazing so Luke Whittaker was driving it.
  11. Stunned is possibly the fact the markets for this race have been open for quite some time both here and Australia, obviously the TAB will be refunding all bets. I'm not saying it shouldn't be a handicap but holding this over till next year makes alot more sense surly, maybe even handicap the Mares into the cup like The Race.
  12. Totally agree after the race just had to go and watch it again to see where he came from
  13. Jury is out on that one
  14. Could be, no have the Facebook site Harness Racing Unhinged and run the Westview Racing syndicates
  15. Galah you make far to much sense, getting people to the race's is vital for the survival of our industry. This time of year why wouldn't you want to be at the course with the best facilities. Certainly over summer grass track and country racing is the window to our industry, unfortunately alot of the facilities at these tracks have slipped . Personally I don't think the current funding model rewards clubs enough or at all on turnover or attendance figures. As for Trot Night TV , I have been trying to help them out with content, I absolutely agree the current trackside channels do very little to encourage new participants so anything I can do to help I Certainly will, just incase you didn't know everything I do for our industry is voluntary.
  16. Also Don't be worried about being Kiwi breds , the aussies have been gifted all our good mare's with the lack of racing here for them.
  17. That only happens if that's in the agreement between slot and owners , most contracts will say 5th or worse the slot holders get the 37.500
  18. Well i suppose they could replace them with tree branches.
  19. HRNZ made it very clear they were not funding The Race
  20. Has Waikato club got a spare 450 grand, 3 years?
  21. 20. John Dunn would be the best judge of pace I know, when working a horse if he wanted to run three 30sec quarters he can no watch .He usually drives the galloping pacemaker and the other drivers carry the watch .
  22. There is a interesting article in the HARNESSXPRESS this week with Bruce Negus talking about Mark Dunnett and it's turnaround.
