Watching the champ win isn't boring per se ... what is boring to the extent that I reach for the Mute button immediatement is Debbie Frikkin' Kepitis babbling on endlessly saying the same ol tripe we've heard a squillion times as she reaches for the appropriately branded hankie while her mind calculates the colour of the money $$$ going into her bank a/c LOL. I don't wanna see Winx lose, but it'd almost be worth it to see DK's reaction in defeat; we know how she accepts victory. With a gush.

his bubble burst fairly swiftly, unless he wins the Derby by about 6L. I understand what Newmarket is on about here - the lack of a truly great champion or excitement machine on NZ turf ...in the Sprin it was going to be Savvy Coup and she didn't cut the mustard in Oz either. One thing I'm noticing more of here is the number of 2yo/3yo racing and winning good races here here that are by Aus speed stallions -Fastnet Rock, Sebring, Commands, Snitzel etc - easy pickings perhaps ? You'd have to ask the experts on that. Maybe in the next two weeks at Ellerslie something will emerge that can challenge the superior Ozzie performers. (The Autumn Sun looks the goods, doesn't he?)

No mention of Melody Belle ...nothing exciting on the NZ scene? She keeps winning our Group 1s, and maybe that's an indictment on the quality/depth of the opposition but it'd be good to see how she fares in Oz again...are they taking her over?

this horse won the Apollo Stakes this time last year, beating Happy Clapper (and was 3rd behind Winx in 2017). Midfield in the Doncaster only 4L off the winner .and has won over 1600 ..and handles Slow/Heavy tracks...my query is LEFT HANDED..

Taxinda is not stupid. She has no intention of introducing a CGT - if implemented at all it will be renamed and a watered-down version of some of the Cullen recommendations. If she is smart, she will leave businesses alone and only ping speculative property investments, which most Kiwis see as unfair gains if untaxed.

OP on Melody Belle tomorrow from barrier 13 of 14. Several times recently he's been 'warned' by the spineless stipes for allowing his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear. I expect that he will do the same tomorrow ...ie carve up an opponent or two or three if needed to save ground for MB. e's a great jock, no question ...I 'll be watching very closely to see how this race pans out.

We already pay 28-33c in the dollar Income Tax and 15 per cent on everything we 'consume' purchase (GST).. Plus ACC. Plus EQC. Plus. Plus. Plus. That's before RATES and WATER charges and a regional fuel tax if you live in Auckland. Then we waste tens of millions a year on idiot consultants and bureaucrats we don't need who create rules that totally lack common sense; and we pay billions to unproductive people, many of whom have no excuse for not going to work like the rest of us. (Our local councils are run by the senior bureaucrats on their fat salaries, not the elected councillors.) And we make people wait for life-saving operations/ medicine because 'we don't have enough money' to make it freely/cheaply available (eg Keytruda). And we charge terminally ill people for an ambulance trip from a hospital to a hospice (true); but let tourists who need to be rescued from our seas or mountains nothing. We give residency and/or citizenship rights to drug smuggling criminals and people who cant even speak English; but we deport hard-working, law-abiding families for no good reason. Labour is being very cunning with the CGT ...putting something out there that they know we wont accept, so that they can then amend it to CGT-Lite "just being fair to all the hard-working Kiwis"... ..

If hed won thos races today he'd be described again as the one and only OP lenghts better than any other jock in NZ... however, what concerns me is that in the last 2-3 weeks OP has been twice or thrice warned / fined for careless riding, but not suspended. At least twice he has allowed his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear (eg Probabeel in KM) Why not? He ain't taking any notice of the Stipes.
