  1. G1 win in NZ means little nowadays….. just hack racing mostly. Watch Aus racing today at main tracks if you want to see good horses competing
  2. No, that’s fine everyone will have different views, not offended at all. More I think about it, $250k is probably too low, maybe up towards $500k. But hey, if connections get $1mil, well done 👍👍
  3. Let’s see, one thing I will say is the horse has been very well placed since it started racing, well done for trainer and connections. But, she is small, never raced in Australia and some of those fields she has beat have been average at best. Not knocking the horse, would love to own her but would be far better buys for mine if ya talking a million. Can’t understand connections selling…
  4. Ha Ha Ha… Classic
  5. Yeah, they should know that 80% of horse racing punters are over 45yrs old with dodgy eyesight.
  6. Totally agree. Maybe background colour not good
  7. I think they stated no place divs shown before race? Seems weird, Div font far too small
  8. Was watching last race on iPad…and I mentioned graphics hard to watch. Just got on TV (Sky62), and to be honest it seems even harder to read divs etc. Is it just my dodgy eyes or do others agree👍
  9. Pretty cool to be racing for that sort of Chief Stipeh…. Right on your doorstep.
  10. New graphics not easy to read for a colour blind old fella😆
  11. Seems to be a circus up there…
  12. Seems a good concept, be a few Sth Island trainers, owners and riders happy to be chasing $350k on Sat 13th. Hopefully the major spoils go to local connections, those not associated with larger satellite stables.
  13. What is everyone thinking she will fetch? I have no idea, but for a guess I will say $250k
  14. Can see both sides of this discussion, but I was surprised that JC didn’t just take trail behind MM. As mentioned, horse is not a stayer, more of a sprinter that on that run looks well past its best. As for MM, what a win. Things didn’t go as planned but bolted in, Mystic Max ran home well
  15. Legarto…. far too slow! But yes, a good day NZ. Mark Twain very impressive
  16. Yes Easter Saturday at Addington used to be great, I’m sure all us dudes over 50yrs have good memories. That battle between Basil Dean & Sir Castleton was fantastic, think a record time which was faster than open class pacers, amazing really. Sadly, was there when derby field came down, good and bad memories
  17. Hardly any jockeys for another meeting today, majority of jockeys riding at Riverton look like they should still be at the trials for months, never mind racing. Luckily Addington on today, as well as some great Aus racing and sport. Just as well TAB don’t rely on nz gallops….half the time they get abandoned
  18. Yeah, I think that’s the issue. Don’t think trainers put the time in nowadays with youngsters, years ago it was common for most stables to have youngsters with live in accomodation, so trainers are the issue. I’m not attacking you, but some with more horses do little…
  19. What young jockeys have you had in your stable in the last 10 years?
  20. Nothing, I agree.
  21. Trainers are the problem, uses to be stables that had a heap of youngsters coming through, now most do not support youngsters. Easier to sit on their arse and call a nth island jockey. As per my thread, we are in real trouble with jockeys.
  22. Yes, I agree. But until you sit back and see the calibre of riders 9 years ago, what is the future of NZ racing? Anyone half decent goes to Aussie, then we have an influx of overseas riders that arrive in NZ, which if they arrived 9 years ago would struggle for rides.
  23. Good driver alright, but no Dexter yet. Has every chance of getting good drives also
