  1. Great fields and a punters graveyard, but always love having a bet down there, on a few roughies, there will be a few that sleep well tonight, punters and horses, attended the meeting in 2019 when we had a runner in the cup, he liked wet tracks, but to puggy that day, very much enjoyed the trip down there, even though the plane circled for what seemed and eternity, just as we had given up the hope of landing and a pending bus trip from Dunedin, we finally landed, took time on the Sunday to visit the surrounding tracks, invercargill, Wyndham Winton Gore, very enjoyable weekend, sadly now some of those tracks are unused.
  2. Thought wolverine was abit unlucky to be fair, mainly because of the ground she lost prior to the turn, when she was squeezed up on the the rail, that length or so may have made all the difference, that's racing for you, always need that luck.
  3. Another nice race from madam sequoia sequoia on Saturday. hopefully she's turned a corner.
  4. Shock horror one in Australia to,
  5. Yes who knows when or what will be next, maybe the return of smallpox, one can only hope to get back to work, for how ever long, poor healthy nurses waiting to get back to work are still waiting, insane that a covid positive nurse can return to work, as long as they're jabbed, this rule is insane.
  6. Heard an old story some years ago on the coast, where a jockey was questioned on his lack of vigor when riding a favored runner, to which he replied, there was no use in both of getting tired.
  7. Be interesting to see the riding tactics, this week.
  8. Fair call, be a lot of deaths we will never know the numbers and that just from the jab, read a article said of the 150 odd deaths in nz half were unvaccinated, rest made up of fully vaccinated boosterd and unknown, and of the 150 deaths, 40 odd were attributed to died from the virus, why now are the more accurate numbers are being reported, why not from day one, scaremongering I'd say
  9. Can recall being at motukarara and remembering one of the best performances I've seen, and it was from a back runner, can any remember, was around mid 90s sometime, from memory, a long time ago.
  10. Certainly interesting tactics, I was going to back her but left it a tad late, was waiting for her to toss the towel in ,but she kept on fighting, quite often horses ridden against their natural racing pattern, don't usually preform well, Good result, she may make a good broodmare.
  11. When are we going to get the real numbers on the reported covid deaths, as so many seem to be reported with rather than of, but nevertheless we never hear the truth, as usual, or even how many people have recovered, maybe they just don't want us to know.
  12. Certainly interesting hearing abit more on the breeding side which always interests me, and the list of very good horses owned and trained on the coast, do remember all of them, just good to have the old memory jogged, perecolini one of my favourites when he raced at riccarton, and always seemed to give his best in some very nice races, peligro may have held a track record at Westport some years ago, think I can recall cappiemore even racing at Wellington one day, may have be a st ledger, not sure, can recall a guy of Moffat riding him at some stage of his career, and in his jumping days would have been getting over the real fences, today they are certainly not the same.
  13. Always good to listen to a few stories from yesteryear, Napiat I can remember from a few years back, remember cappiemore, very good type on the flat as well as the jumps, won the greymouth cup from memory, but lost it in the enquiry room, controversial one must say, from memory owner never raced a horse there again, he must have won close to 18 or so wins, out of a mare called mixed herbs, which may have been by Kurdistan, she never left much else, another old fella on the coast had a mare that won one race, story goes she had plenty of ability to, unbeatable at the trials, but sadly race day, showed virtually none of it.The good old days, when turnovers were good, and crowds flocked to the course.
  14. Borninthestates tidy country cup horse from memory and I think he raced in Australia to, though not totally sure.
  15. Agree for sure, how can it be one rule for some, but not the rest, I hope it happens across the board, all these rules no help now, as it's prevalent here, 3 deaths on the road last nite, quite common, but they don't always report those stats, just covid deaths mostly more with, rather than of, reported that they are going to revel true numbers of deaths from it, should have been like that from day one. ,
  16. And even covid positive nurses cant go back to work if they feel like it now, in yet another government u turn, yet the healthy unjabbed await the dropping of the mandate, crazy, great to see fonterra doing a turn on their policy,Good on them.
  17. And 95% percent of the country if we believe that, now they all filling the hospital wards, at least they are apparently reporting the deaths of and ones with, should have been from day one, good ole scaremongering all along.
  18. You make it sound easy, the other 11 couldn't do it.
  19. That's how to ride a stayer I guess, track by was supposedly good according to jockeys,, inside didn't appear the best place to be, and I thought I heard track had been irrigated.
  20. Don't think many excuses for the beaten brigade, the winner was back last with a lap to run, and I guess the rest is history, they did say the horse was a 450k purchase, so some reward for the connections, don't know much about the dam of him, someone will enlighten us on her.
  21. This will go down in history, and the current leaders will certainly be defined by it, wont be remembered for much else.
  22. Good on him, after the slippery authorities removed his property, and here they were saying how worried about the sanitation at the site, they must see it as the only way they can get some sort of win.
  23. Unfortunately 4 people that I used to work with have had issues since receiving the elephant juice, as I refer to it, all different ages as well, one was instructed to purchase a blood pressure monitor, out of the 6 jabbed people all had high blood pressure, the only one who was the oldest by far, and un jabbed, had perfect BP, coincidence one could ask, or not. The experts are spinning the numbers game saying the unjabbed are a one in fifteen chance of being hospitalized with the virus, and the numbers of double penetrated in hospital, ironically higher, doesn't reflect the true story, I always thought it was ment to keep you out of hospital.
  24. Sad the Wellington protesterss have lost their new showers, underhand tactic by the police, after they were criticizing the supposedly squalor in the camp, good on the protesters for keeping up the good fight for the people who have lost their lively hoods due to the shameful government mandates.
  25. Yes I fear you maybe right
