Yes many dare not speak out on anything vaccine related, unless positive, a very sad state of affairs, hopefully there's more revolt down the track, d day drawing closer for me, and likely to loose my employment, after 10 plus years of giving your all. Who knows what the future holds, but yo be fair the way things are in this world, one wouldn't be missing much.

No only the unvaccinated

Police are following a number of leads.

Hopefully their track dryed out today, and going should be good tomorrow, see Westports turnover well down, weather a little average, was ok for most of day one, people don't need to many excuses not to attend these days, maybe the vaccine passes chased more away.

Agree, one can only hope better days are on the way, just like they used to be, where everyone was equal, and had the freedom of choice, and guaranteed a job.

South Island Racing Programme: Not Fit For Purpose?!
Shad replied to Doomed's topic in Galloping Chat
Backed that horse at hokitika, classic race to watch, have it on my sky, don fuge always got a winner on the coast, I think he won a grand national hurdle many years back, any one know the horses name. -
Surely you'll find somewhere to hang it, a friend invited me to the nudist camp, I said I can't go I've got something on.

Agree with you, it's the surviving without a job the hard part, very sick world we live in.

Very dark day, when the boss delivers the news, like an episode of its in the bag, the money or the jab, after 11 years of loyalty, with never a complaint, it's a choice apparently, how does on survive with out an income, no discrimination on vaccine for trade people, free for all, but pull the old health an safety chesnut for the worker.

South Island Racing Programme: Not Fit For Purpose?!

Thanks but for that but have vivid memories of that day, traveled down with my girlfriend at the time, not a racing fan, talked her into taking easy bets, she moaned how useless they were and gave up, I duly said i would take the last few races, and lucky managed to land one with a horse called Vidi vici paid I think double figures for a place, collected 350$, and she duly put the hand out for half of the bounty, back to dance on ice I just remember Johnsons ride, was a good one, just held her up for couple strides, then just gave a couple of slaps and she got there, never seen many of the stock of ravel's bolero, she would one of not many nz winners, someone may know more. -

Interesting can remember that horse some years back, as it was by ravels bolero, ironically a friend had a couple of them at the time that he leased, not sure what happened but they never raced and may have gone back to the owner, hence why I followed the stock, wasn't many around ,vaguely remember the Westport win, but was on course one day at Oamaru,I'm sure mr Johnson rode her and she lead the trip, just when you thought she was going to be beaten, he cuddled her up had had the last lunge, small world, somethings just seem to stick in ones head, I'm sure Mr Jackson trained her, but will see if I can find an old race book. -

Racing finished in 1996 I think from memory, from memory their turnover would have looked quite good by todays standards, trots be there on boxing day, usually have a big turnover, be interesting to see if it stacks up this year with all the changes regards the vaccine passport, and a challenging year, be interested to know name of your horse that won at Westport back in the day, may have an old race book from that year. -

In my opinion the main reason racing stopped in Westport, was the lack of the interest from some of the locals, was always good racing there, a safe track on a sandy base, can't remember any bad falls in my time, they never seemed to get a big crowd, and tried many different dates, I think the last straw was the cancellation of the last couple of races, as a Senior rider was concerned about the track, a useful horse called mutual belle then came out and done an exhibition gallop, going around with no issues,, this may have been a year or to before the club closed, most of the community were supportive of the harness racing, but not the gallops, maybe the extra hour travel from reefton or greymouth may have made a difference to trainers attending, can recall a grey horse winning a maiden there very impressively, modena, went on to be a very good performer, against some good opposition, very sad the club folded in 1996, with a horse called elad nova winning the last Westport cup, the harness racing has huge support over there, and I think the main reason for that is the holiday season dates, as they do struggle turnover wise there in the March meeting, I alway considered that Westport track to be one of the better ones on the coast, some may disagree. Nelson another galloping club lost along the way. -
That's a dead cert.

Talking of which, drove past the cemetery on my way to work, seen the Paul bears with the casket on their shoulders, odd thing about it on the way home they were still there wandering around, I think they lost the plot.

Make sure you have your pass for church, and here's me thought the good lord's house was open for all, regardless, obviously not, a tad hypocritical

Yep sad sorry on stuff yesterday on a healthy 26yr old who died after a few heart issues, due to be married as well, couldn't possibly be that jab could it, a couple of my friends that have had it reckon they have had the worst of the flu in their life time since, coincidence or not.
-
Very good summary, what more could one say
-
Good ole government duped the young ones in to the jab with the old line if you want to have a summer, now the are canceling them all, I bet there be some anger over this, but realistically was it ever going to happen, also told us if your vax rates are low you begin the red, but most started in orange, ah but only to 13th December, arent they great at stringing people along and playing with their emotions, will riccarton go ahead tomorrow.
-
Sad state of affairs, who would ever thought as a country, we'd be put into two categories, the vaccinated and the lepers, that sums it up to a tee, and obviously there's abit more push back than expected, all created by our government, who like many around the world the only answer has been the shot, no mention of early treatment, is it working one must asked, as long as some don't mind rolling their arm up every 6 months for the foreseeable, who knows what the long term effects will be, but if there is any, there's no liability apparently, Good on those for making a stand, racing struggling as it is and needs every supporter it can yet, but at the end of the day some will walk away.
-
Seems like one doesn't have my say on your employment, take the poison or get the push, hard to pay the Bill's with no livelihood
-
Good to hear, that's a positive, I get a bit of voices for freedom stuff sent to me, makes very interesting reading, as does a lot of other information out there, pity there is so much follow the leader out there in the community.
-
Cheers for your support, it's my intention not to roll over on this one, will see how much loyalty will be shown to a person that works hard, never complains, always has a smile on their face, and been there for 12 years, it's more on the health and safety chesnut there pushing.
