Yes zero consistency. For mine the biggest improvers run of the day at Ashburton without question was Franco Humbie sitting parked in quick time and winning easily. That was a massive run and a big improvement from what he has been showing in his last 10 runs. No questions there but why not? If any questions needed to asked for improvement it was that race considering the run it received. Anyway I am sick of talking about the inconsistency of the stipes. Nothing will change as they are a law unto themselves.
-
Yes both you and I know his greenness is why he has been out of the running but the average punter who knows nothing about ability looks at his form and sees 80003 and presumably that is why the stipes are questioning these trainers and drivers. If they took context into account then Good Time Betty would never have been questioned and neither would a ton of others where they have conducted a meaningless integration.

Heartbreak Hotel beaten more than 50 metres last two starts and nearly rank outsider of the field, never placed before but never questioned. If you are looking for more examples I can give you dozens in the last few months but the point is there is no consistency at all on their part and all they do is make themselves look stupid with random inquiries to drivers on horses that have placed for obvious reasons. Have they got a rule book they can use to determine if a question needs to be asked of the trainer or driver? If it is just down to the discretion of the stipes on the day then that is asking for trouble and they leave themselves open for all sorts of integrity/favouritism implications because they never get it right, for example your Brent Barclay argument. They should get a set of guidelines drawn up and make it public. Then they can be held to account and drivers and trainers and punters know where they stand.

Yes I had to sneak to several TAB's to slyly get enough on with them noticing. Surprised I didn't see you doing the same. 😂

Then on that basis in the last race they never questioned Betterthandiva who was also 6th favourite and won from a similar postion after never placing from its last 10 starts

GOOD TIME BETTY - when questioned regarding the improved performance driver J Curtin advised the mare had benefited from a good barrier draw and an economical run. Jesus the horse draws 8 and 5 the last two starts and has hard runs from those draws after getting back. Today it draws two and trails all the way and the stipes couldn't work out for themselves why it went much better. FFS what is going on.

I bet mainly on harness but ironically my biggest trifecta returns have been on the gallops. I got just over half the Adventador trifecta when it won the Telegraph and collected over 35K I also got the Trifecta in the same race a few years later with Enzos Lad and collected nearly 20k off that race. Had dozens of 5K + collects on harness trifectas but you are right the pools do not support big dividends unless it is Cup week.

The bookmakers will have more idea than the people doing the form comments. There is a bit more at stake for the bookies with thousands of dollars at risk

What form guides does everyone use for gallops now the Entain form is a waste of time?
-
The galloping form on the new website is complete shit. I am pretty sure it is a purchased data service with the data filled by a bunch of data operators who know little about racing. A lot of the bookmaker websites in Aussie also use this same purchased service which is a waste of time if you want accurate descriptions. Our racing is going down the gurgler quickly.

From Entain after the big website outage earlier in the year. TAB operators Entain Australia and New Zealand managing director Cameron Rodger said they experienced some significant issues this afternoon when the TAB website and mobile app became unavailable for an extended period. “This significant degradation in our services was caused by an issue within our databases. Our teams worked to restore service as soon as possible and the site was fully operational again by 4pm,” Rodger said. “We are continuing to work well towards our migration of our digital channels to a new platform later this year, which will remove reliance on external providers, and will give us significantly better control over our digital operations. FFS that seems to be working out well for them.

Plus the odds showing are all over the place. No wonder the turnovers on harness are getting shafted.

9am on the day of the races and can't get a bet on at Ashburton. Only half the races showing and can bet on fixed win or place. They have come up with a new way of restricting everyone at the same time. This website is a complete joke.

2024 - Crunch time for ENTAIN Corporation.
Nowornever replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
I thought the deal included retaining staff for 2years as well as a number of other conditions. When the 2 years is up I imagine a big reduction in staff, a massive increase in restrictions of accounts and a number of other measures to increase profits at the expense of punters. -

Still paying off their huge corruption fines overseas. Gambling giant Entain will pay HMRC £585m to settle over bribery allegations relating to a Turkish firm that it previously owned. The settlement was approved by the Royal Courts of Justice in a hearing on Tuesday. Entain, which owns Ladbrokes, will also make a charitable donation of £20m and pay towards the costs of the case. Its chairman added that the group had "profoundly changed" since the sale. The payments are part of a deferred prosecution agreement (DPA), that will be made in instalments over the next four years. -
Been driving terrible on the telfer runners. Beaten on three or four red hot 1.40 shots the last few months. Looked like the stable money was on the stablemate in the Twista race. There were some dodgy drives all night. David Butcher on Irish Whisper only going 1:58 mile rate and letting the others into the race was not a great drive I thought. Another second or two faster in front and wins easily but let the others back into the race.
-
Thanks Brodie had a bet on it. Not because of the horses ability or change of stable but because you questioned it. Why didn't you say it couldn't win and then I might have unloaded even more. 😂
-
Not only poor but it complete shit. They should be ashamed of the data they put up on there. I complained but it is like water off a ducks back to them and they don't care.
-
The ratings system is not fit for purpose with the number of horses we have available.
-
I used to lay off in the last leg on the ones I had covered in the Quaddie so at least I made a few quid no matter what happened. I don't think they want punters to do that anymore hence they have taken away the ability to see how much you are going to win. They are in the business of wanting punters to lose as much as they can, not help them turn a profit.

Ozzie Bookies - What are Kiwi’s Bookies doing?

It amazes me that Entain are relying on customers to tell them what is missing on the website. I noticed a couple of things, rang them up and they were fixed a few hours later. You would think their staff and computer experts would already know or have taken note of all the features on the old site and then just transferred them across. Incompetence or laziness which is it? -

I hate the fact when you watch TV it will not go full screen. Makes the shit graphics even smaller. They have thrown the common sense book out the window. -
Then he was worse than a shit punter 😂
-
Must have been a shit punter if he was able to bet that much with Ladbrooks. I got banned after depositing less than $500.00. Also I feel this has been dramatised as it always is in these situations with media. The inference is that he lost $2 million dollars to everyone who reads it but his turnover was 2million and his losses may have been 100K or less I would guess. Another gambling degenerate who has ruined his life
