  2. rider talent is drawn into the core of the industry, how capitalism works! riders with less talent move outwards to the periphery, be that Invercargill or in the far out back...
  3. What is his Politics on selling Avondale?
  4. I would say that he be Head Down and Focusing 100% on getting things on track!
  5. lol, what is missing from my analysist of him, is that I have Not seen him literally this season, that race on sat was a 99% watch v a race to bet into, very exciting to watch it was too! TWO World Class Riders riding out a G1 Race at (for me anyway!) the Best Track in the World
  6. I recon with some of those rather nice Motor Homes, and with economic$ in that back pocket! to park it safely, it makes that sort of option well worth looking at!
  7. 100% Not All the Monster runs he put it comes at a cost! Happy for any horse to prove wrong! ps. I'm about 3% patriotic when it comes to a horse bet! V International in my taste! (mumble) not a stable I follow... re that Mare, perhaps the Owner$ choosing that race???
  8. My starting point with a horse like this, is, gee! Had So Many Hard Runs... they are not machines....
  9. Please spill the beans then... Ps. I've already moved on from BS! as ever, keen to see who the next one they line up! ps. until otherwise, I will stick that he will now pass the poison challis to the next ceo who I would have will be picked to drive through the Avondale $ALE..
  10. 'act of god', negates the normal rules
  11. lol, would it be wrong to be ok to happy to be in the 'not most' lot! meaning, you might get irritated or annoyed with a 'Pollyanna' or youngers' stretching the truth! But personally, if I display a serious animosity with someone! (for what its worth, 0.01%) It's Real, based on my understanding via interactions with them! and Actually Knowledge about them in the Real World!
  12. He really does keep improving! Maturing like a good wine! Speaks really well as well!
  13. I recall having this sort of a 'problem' many years back on one of the old bulletin boards, lol, so a couple of us started to 'gossip' via pm's. Some amusing stories were shared! lol, I recall we had to disband the campaign as things materials a strange in the real world from some of the gossip. Pretty harmless stuff!!! Nothing like the disgusting stuff those two got up two! The really deserve each other!
  14. hence, my reason to lean on the bar...
  15. re the role of 'gossip, in the local hood it plays its part in interconnecting people around the day to day flows of the area, it doesn't have to be nasty! Internet Gossip! wow.... I like to treat this forum like a old school public bar, there are always in house rules to observe! And in current times kids are allow in the bars.. one rule I have is! Dont post anything that you wouldn't say standing in front of anyone! whoever the happen to be!! it just so gets me! why the feck would you have a need to comment about a person private life! Exception made! if violence is play! Enough banter!!! off to the Big Lego show! D town has flood, but the show must go on!
  16. Sigh, what is the BIGGEST $$$$$$$$$$$$$ focus on currently re Things NZ racing! (leaving the issues of Tracks aside) Hint, it is Not the upcoming race meetings! It is about the Liquation of Avondale! I (presume) that BS is standing aside so that the New CEO will Drive this going forward!!! This new fella/woman could learn a thing or two about how to close down a function race course, especially so from the fella I mentioned in the lead post!
  17. Depends on a lot of things Peter! your sense of humour! a deep understanding of Irony would be helpful in 'understanding' the post! I could continue if that wasn't helpful enough!
  18. If I did! it would take the enamel of the teeth of some! frighten some* amuse others! * those born with silver spoons up their back jack sees!!! ((names withheld for just now!!!) Many would be surprised how in racing have that sort of linage!
  19. I feel ya re the Oaks! I still feel the excitement of getting to seethe good fillies each new season, starting out their 3 yr old years! Was there one in the CD that starts of slow and has the ability to mature and stay! Though personally, it would be all the Black Type 1600/Miles, be the for the colts or fillies or open or wfa, spring, summer or winter! The Telegraph would get a few honorable mentions! The old 3 day Winter meetings had their own logic and sorted out the real form re ND/CD/South... nek minute!
  20. we had rallies that lived in Cobden, they had about 4 permanent water stains inside their house, all above the 1m mark, marking the big floods that had flooded over the years... very pragmatic, clean up and wait for the next one! ps, rain has finally stopped
  21. The club, the track, the history... Hard not to be a tad melancholy! That of course is qucikly negated by the 'real politics' on the Industry! The Elitisms! so shown historically by the building of the stand coming down! Public very much Over there! the further the better! Not one great stand like a proper race course stand! As ever, I still be hoping for a decent track for their upcoming Groups Races! Still a track I will attempt to bet if the track is playing OK.
  22. can satire do that sort of thing?
