Dear Sir, may I politely refer you to your second sentence, I believe you are correct in all three suggestions, summations, in fact the last suggestion would win the prize in all fairness. They have been known to openly tell porkies and then claim ignorance, which as we all know is no excuse in the eye of the law.

I see Saundry has a disciple, he'll wash his feet next, what a load of rubbish, 50 to 60k a year for maintenance .......ask Laxon what the cost was up in SING to groom and maintain the poly, the costs of running the Al Bahathri at Newmarket is three times that, and they have real heavy snow to contend with so although it might up their costs the creative accountants at NZTR are doing what they do well........telling porkies......after all, it's other peoples money isn't it, like the tax payers of NZ?
-
Why don't Mills and Saundry give the Gold Coast Turf Club a call? see how professionals do it. learn something, anything.....they race here almost every Saturday and some midweeks to boot, lose bugger all meetings and when we get rain, it rains, torrential.......it might not be a Royal Ascot or Royal Ellerslie, but as far as a racing surface and great training facilities, it bashes the tripe out of Royal Riccarton........but it might not if the money went into upgrading the grass tracks there especially the tar seal tarmac posing as a course proper. I'm starting to think CJC might just be a 'boys club' and the Petone mob or rabble call them what you will are clamouring at the clubhouse door wanting to come in? Could I be right?

You know, you're right, any business would collapse with management like this, however, public companies with shareholders hold annual meetings, Ive been to a few, I bet you have too, you get to throw questions to the CEO from the floor, you can take the board to task, in person, and, if the floor ain't happy, you can move a no confidence motion and Volia, you see action before your very eyes......it's been wonderful to see the mayhem unfold, and CEO leave the stage with his tail between his legs. As NZRB weren't a public company they got away with carnage, how a responsible government allowed the reformation in this form is disgraceful, you will end up back where you were before, it's going ok for some at the moment, but the train wreck is coming, once the debt rebuilds, and as it's only deferred, it will of course, come back to haunt everyone, all you stakeholders, but not the salaried elite who are answerable to the invisible man.......good luck to all of you, you're going to need it.

What a shame you don't have an investigative TV show like Sixty Minutes or Four Corners like we have, something meaty, something the general public could get right into, because sure as hell there is a story here, 10 years plus worth, the salaries, the results, the attitude and the ineptitude.......and apathy, did I mention apathy, yep apathy......the 10's of millions of dollars pissed up against the wall, by a long queue of hopeless ineffective and questionable salarymen and women who either didn't have a clue or didn't give a fukc........as long as the eagle crapped every month........it's never too late, just read peterprofit.com re the story of the so called 'man' who was in the motel room with the trainers wife when she died and ended up in South Australia running the Trots, or cheats on seats, whatever it is at Globe Derby now, ah for Wayville and the days of Cardigan Bay......anyway, Archie Butterfly didn't hold back, why there is not a national inquiry as to how the GOV had to bail out racing is a damnation, a blight on integrity.....my lawyer would love a commission from Jacinda to look into the machinations of the collapse of NZ racing, if I could get him out of the surf at Burleigh! apathetic bastard he is.

Mo' unga Dulcify Stakes - how good is he?

You reckon Rachael regrets leaving Otaki? Why Benner hasn't done the bolt is beyond me, They'd knock up training winners over here. -
Alarm bells........NZ racing ended up where it has because of ineptitude, mismanagement and apathy........surely you all must be a wakeup to these people by now? You don't run Air NZ by the seat of your pants, or guessing, a stab in the dark methodology is at work here, when this so called roadshow hits town I hope you all ask the travelling salesmen from Petone that you need to ''look at the books''.........it rhythms with cooked the books doesn't it........now that wouldn't have happened in years past would it? nah, no way.......
-
I'm not the trainers advocate however if many are opposed the concerns should have been raised and the opposition voiced, the closure of so many tracks and forced relocation for trainers, or they retire, whatever. the grass track at Riccarton is now almost a goner, and what happens when the construction begins, it's not going to work, there'll be an accident for sure and some will skulk off into the early morning mists...... In a nutshell, when you discover your horse wont chase through the kickback and you look at your training bill and then look at the programming and what alternatives you have, ahhhh.......gavelhouse will be the winners with that....... Wouldn't it be lovely if evolution produced a club CEO that stood up and addressed the board and said '' After consensus with all our trainers and their owners it's our wish you provide us with the funding for a strathayr and funding for an upgrade to our training facilities so all these people are kept happy and content and produce numbers to support our race days going forward.'' ''We realise many horses resent the kickback and it will be reflected in tote turnover to everyones detriment''. If the majority want the AWT, and they realise what may well happen, then it's a given, one goes in, if the majority vote it down, it should be dead in the water....end of.....IMO of course.
-
It really doesn't matter if it's Mills or any other GM or CEO Reefton, he just happens to be the go to man at Riccarton and he's openly declared his support for the AWT.....Petone would love that wouldn't they? When there are so many trainers there that don't want it why on earth would they not hold a moratorium and go with a consensus of people that have to train their horses and race their horses on that surface.....or does the animal come last......and the trainer can go hee.... We had a wood fibre at Flemington, it was a disaster, Bart and CS kicked up a stink, John Meagher also, shortly after it was given the boot......just because his 'other half' loves the idea......the boss man at Riccarton should listen to the people that count, not just the chosen few.......and boy I hope the trainers that don't agree with those that do....get there en masse and give it to the salarymen from the Jackson St Taj Mahal...... IMO...

Riddle me this, how does Mills keep his job? I remember Riccarton from it's halcyon days, and an ace committee and GM,..you know, back in the day when there were big strings and great trainers, not great egos,,. If Mills wants an AWT, and most of you don't, push a no confidence motion and dis the bloke, having this foisted on you will cause trouble, the money should be spent on improving the training tracks there, and why the hell a Strathayr isn't going in for a fraction of the cost is beyond me,,..patching up is a waste, look at Eagle Farm, once the proud matron in BNE now the daughter you hide from visitors,,a seagull pisses on the track and it's a disaster,,.up the road on the Sunny Coast is the best track in the country,,. Don't you just love executives with no idea but think they do, and their glove puppets who don't like to travel, as an owner the travel costs are killers, but thats another story, one for the gouging files,..

In what way you ask, well, the penalty didn't fit the crime, looking at so many other miscreants and their penalties, David was set up to be an example, the sacrificial lamb, what he did was wrong yes, but they obviously wanted to show their might and power......and destroy a young blokes life, why the hell can't he come back and earn a living, anyone that deprives him of that due to the crime he committed is not decent at all.....and it wasn't a crime was it........he broke a rule, you've never ever broken a rule, the whole thing stinks and I'm done.
-
David was persecuted Thomass, a young bloke with his life ahead of him, I don't know if he's lost the passion for racing, he may well have, but I hope not. If racing is to survive there, you'll need all the help you can get. What a waste of talent, when he needed help he was shunned, one day Thomass you might be standing in his shoes, pray to God then, just maybe someone will give you that second chance, counselling or whatever help you may need, David wasn't given that chance.........how bloody sad.
-
What does that tell you re the people that prosecuted him and hit him with that sentence? Setting an example.......what a joke when the industry was led/guided down the path of destruction by these beasts......and yet they waltzed off into the sunset with their coffers lined with gold....our gold......some of them are still there, does that sicken you? it does me.....
-
If Weir is found guilty of industry charges he probably will reapply once he's done his time, however, if he faces criminal charges no way will he come back.......odds on that.
-
I reckon Weir should be hit with a harp as part of his sentence should he be found guilty, however no second chance for him as his rap sheet is longer than Father Christmas's beard........he is no comparison to David though Tommy, and you know it, so stop being silly, there's a good boy.

Listen up goose, the shock treatment obviously didn't work during your time away, but's here an analogy for you. Tanya Plibersek long time ALP politician and an extremely talented and learned individual is married to a former drug addict and peddler Michael Coutts Trotter who served 2 years 9 months in jail for his offences. So do I call Tanya the same as what you are calling out the friends and accomplices of David?.......Michael was given a second chance, look how he has turned his life around, he is now, Head. NSW dept community and justice..........now that's called Karma.

So many horses wont chase due to kick back, no use running a timid horse on it, the kick back at Geelong became a standing joke, I see the joke moving across the Tasman, the answer is simple, a consensus of people who know through experience, lay a strath and the kick back will be a different genre.......a beer a happy owner and trainer and a relaxed enjoyable experience.......but I'm wasting my time, most of you get it, the dickheads don't, and those filled with their own importance don't get it........do they?

And about half of the Newmarket trainers don't like them, but as I wrote some 5 years back, the AWT in the UK was a godsend for owners/trainers and staff that usually were laid off during the winter if the stable didn't cross train with jumpers. It also gave a lot of horses a second chance, they were headed for the knackers as they were average on the grass....some show aptitude and improvement on the AWT and it saved them and gave their owners a return........of sorts. But a punting medium, in the UK they'll bet on anything as they have the gambling culture, NZ doesn't, so once the novelty wears off.......just saying.
