I trained one that was by a Stallion who got swimmers, he was out of NZ's champion 2yo of her year, by Alvaro and she was a swimmer.....my bloke was legless in it, hopeless, yet won on fast at Kyneton and started 15-1 in a Gr2.......there's no rule to it.
