  1. Well the Don is $2.30 on Sportsbet in the first at Northern Southland coming up soon. The young horse proving to be Much More Popular than his namesake !!!! Will he show the same ability to conquer the world ? or lose the plot ?
  2. Definitely stupid punters to back any non winners IMO. No Driver tells the stewards They hit a Wheel. Thats just saying you're guilty and risking penalty to yourself. Sometimes you're not even sure if you touched the wheel or not if wrestling with horse like Hurrell was. i.e could be 'light' brushing/ contact. Enough to scare your horse on occasion. The young lass who was driving MAGIC SIGN in front of Spitfire could tell them , but if not asked No Need to say anything , she did nothing wrong.
  3. Brodie, you're sure worried about your old mate Spitfire. Your observation is actually poor of the moment he galloped. Blossom, Chief and myself (in detail) explained it earlier in this thread for you, when you asked what made it gallop. Don't forget, As the pace quickens a horses legs stretch 'further in front' of his head and body , than at a slower speed. Spitfires legs were in line with the inside wheel in front of him. I agree with Chief in that, this is a driving error, probably more than Spitfires fault.
  4. That Ashburton trot had a row 5 wide of gallopers 300m out !! was very funny ! was like Ellerslie. Pete Mcmullen ( You don't have to debate with FORBURY about a Top driver there) just won now at Albion, easily on the horse he got the Suspension on , KINGOFTHESTARS . Stupid Punter Gammalite had settled for the $160 earlier and didn't follow on for the $4.50 divi here. talk about having winners shoved under your nose and missing out. blah... have a great evening !!
  5. Well the winner there doesn't agree Brodie, Nor do people who like big odds (80-1 winner today) Nor does Gammalite, But I am used to it , as mostly Albion is 1 mile racing. Trainers wouldn't agree either. You can race a horse week to week with mile racing. Some of those 2400m races today at Ashburton would leave runners 'Flat" to say the least and performing poorly next time. Today I picked 1 out for a bet . BoomChuckaLucka with Pete McMullen back from the most crooked 3 week suspension I've ever seen in my life. KNEW he would be angry , first drive back. Straight to the front 1.55 mile , easy as you like R4 just a little while ago. $100 win , thank you very much Pete. !! lol
  6. well better luck nek time That was very disappointing for the NATION with the Spitfire Gallop (and the 2 blokes behind him in the run lol) So By All Means Roman and Whiplash put in Tips on Thursday for CAMBRIDGE , as have discarded todays Ashburton form , And look forward to the CAMBRIDGE challenge on Thursday !!!!! all welcome to join in on Homepage
  7. Well some patient driving there in R8 by Sam Ottley. I give up, ..was thinking this is craziness having 14 horses in a mile race. (should be 10 to give them all a chance) 5 Back on the fence as they left the back straight was SENORITA MARGARITA , seemed no hope, then it pops out wide in the home straight and wins. Seemed impossible task with the big field. Just shows how good it is to have those tracks with a long run home like Ashburton to give them a chance from the back of winning.
  8. Look at the bright sides, still half the card to go, Whiplash has only One point lead on you, and........ GAMMALITE and KARROTs North Island tips on Thursday won't have to work as hard to catch you now !!
  9. Excuse my butting in on your question to Blossom. I believe you are correct . The pace increased quite sharply as Daggy Lamb took the lead and Spitfire trying to excelerate with them , got his own Spitfire head inside the drivers head in front of him , therefore his strides as they quickened were longer and in line with the now trailing horses wheel. BANG ! and gallop gallop gallop. ........
  10. Today its Roman and Whiplash in a Head to head at Ashburton. Spitfire has FAILED to get the points for Roman , (spitfire showing consistantancy and missing out again) so Whiplash now has the advantage from the point from SEAPRIS and Ben Hope in the 3rd. Cheering their runners on while in 'Lock-Down' In Brissy , (actually I think the lockdown came off last night )but I haven't finished my Bottle yet, so stuff it , staying in and watch some trots lol.... Roman under the Whip now ?? but can he lash back lol
  11. Excellent ! Roman is going like MIGHT and POWER and cut loose in the lead. He has put in ASHBURTON selections for today on the Homepage and gone with the mighty 'Spitfire' !! Looks like his 'Day' today then. If you prefer Ashburton to Cambridge (and would like points from the Spitfire potentially lol) get in now on the HOMEPAGE with your pick the card selections . Mikey, Milo, Brodie, Whiplash or anyone keen for the challenge.
  12. Current Leader ROMAN doing a great job out in front on points. This weeks page is up on the HOMEPAGE for Cambridge Thursday already. A Change is made to help the SouthIsland BOAY tipsters !!! IF you want to put in ASHBURTON today selections or Northrn SOUTHLAND tomorrow (where you get 2 extra races) INSTEAD of CAMBRIDGE , feel free to do so. Put your selections for ONE of those 3 meetings , here or on the homepage under the Cambridge Week 3 thread. Good luck All (and Spitfire too !!)
  13. A Good idea by Karrots is to Have some Southern Meetings as a lot of the BOAY posters from there. We have had 2 Cambridge meetings already. Therefore if you want to GO FOR THE POINTS at Ashburton today, or Southland tomorrow (so you can pick the mighty SPITFIRE lol) That will be fine INSTEAD of doing Cambridge selections . pick one meeting for your selections. Points will be tallyed after the Cambridge meeting. ..
  14. A new epic to rival The Lord of the Rings !! movie named ' Spitfire Trump , Heart of a Nation ' Starring the 2 fine harness horses 'Spitfire Aveross 'and 'Donald Trump' (in at Southland tomorrow) , guest appearance by the Real Donald Trump (now out of a job) , Brodie as Brodie, Brad Pitt on the washboard, Mark and Nat as the 'evil antagonists' and introducing CHIEF as the hero driver , Can he get Spitfire Home 1st ?
  15. Gammalite selections R1 Demolition Man R2 Brodie Lindenny R3 Bugalugs R4 Dixie Reign R5 Majestic Harry R6 Ruby Mach R7 Ideal Agent R8 Hezacrocwatcher R9 Monkey Selfie R10 Captain Nemo
  16. Try and pick the card and get this Weeks TOP TIPPER crown !!! 3 pts for 1st places, 2 pts for 2nds, 1 point for thirds. Last week at Cambridge scores were Roman , Milo and Karrots got 18 points each ,, Chief 16 points, ,, Ritchie and Gammalite 14 points. ANYONE CAN JOIN IN , and have a crack ! Pop your tips on this thread before race 1 Thursday Waikato Bay of Plenty meeting . Good Luck to All.
  17. You have got to head Roman off yet to get a prize Karrots. The oz racing pretty ordinary to pick/bet on at the trots. So is a No Go zone. heheh Cambridge Corners !!! that's what we need. !! and Roman and Milo need to hold you off. !!! You're yapping at their heals like a little Maltese Terrier. lol....
  18. Love the junior drivers races too Karrots !! usually some fun tactics lol... Tony Herlihy mopped the floor with these in his day. This of course has to be the next 'Meeting' for your championship ! Gammalite is getting a kicked ass , and needs to toughen up a bit ... heheh surely can get at least 2 points from Demolition Man !! lol. BRODIE is in Race 2 !! good to see him having a go just like Gammalite (90 wins). could be win Number 1. for him and he is on his way to catching up . lol. and my pick last week sounds like a good Queenslander ! and finished hard late. HEZACROCWATCHER !! he should get me points this week.??
  19. , I would think that it is hard to remove posts that are fiction and/or cause offence to some as would not be much left. after the fact The lead Headlines on this thread were very harsh against a young driver , and insulting to various groups as expressed after. Many expressed their displeasure at this , INCLUDING yourself. so that very well counteracts you saying the site could be a haven for that behaviour. So all is good. My thoughts are it was a GREAT Ben Hope drive !!, and he did everything but win the race. ! (He was 1 length in front 100 out after charging to the lead turning for home) retarded driver was given a warning by Chief and asked to take it somewhere else , rather than post like that. No reflection on the site at all.
  20. Just as in STAR WARS , with the evil 'Emporor Palpatine' and Alter Ego 'Supreme Leader Snoke' (pictured) trying to take down the heroes Skywalker and Han Solo, you have 'Forbury' and his Alter Ego 'Retarded Driver' trying to destroy and eliminate Mark Purdon, Ben Hope and anyone else from this Rebel 'Driving 'Alliance of NZ Harness racing not worthy of being in their Empire !!!!
  21. Vic Frost 80 this year, living legend. still training winners out of his Westburn Grant broodmare Frostiness each month, Hunter , your kiwi mate Frank Bennett Won the trot on Friday at Albion.!! driving still in his 70's. Amazing man ! wife still training 4 trotters. Frank started out in 60's and left NZ 2010.
  22. Wow ! I just tuned in for the one race at Nelson / richmond today and just have to say what a perfect 10/10 drive from one of your best TIM WILLIAMS , from the outside gate with OFF N GONE just now. !!! No doubt helped by the very pro-active drive by May on BOOM , but still, what a great effort from Horse and driver.! Have to get going early in those 1 mile races, so very tricky as you say. Even in the regional area's the driving standard is exceptional. !! (less Forbury watching HOPE in action)
  23. hahah Yes, I lost the Cambridge tipping Last night too, !!! lol. nearly picked CRAZY though...... lol Just so people know that YOU are a VERY hard Marker . (on man and beast for some reason) here's what happened ................(Hey I do know something afterall !) EXPENSIVE EGO drew 10 near the outside, was 3 wide for 1/2 lap , to the death seat , then beaten 1/2 a Snotter right on the line (by the 1 x 1 trail horse) coming home in a blistering 54.3 seconds . 1.50.9 mile. A BLOODY BRILLIANT losing effort Forb's . Once again , being $1.30 (1.20 QLD) fav Does NOT mean you automatically win.
  24. And with the Sweet Lou winner 'THEE OLD BOMB ' winning for you too. You are THE BOMB Karrots !!!
  25. Hey Brodster, must tell you all in case you didn't realise (and others), And Hope NZ follows suit. THIS VERY Racing SEASON changed in Australia Harness, to be the NEW SEASON literally starting January 1st. We now run on the Calender year as the Harness racing Season. So on JAN 1st all the yearlings foaled in late 2018 have now just turned 2. And are actually 2 . SO The past season the 2 year olds raced from Sept 1st 2019 right up to DEC 31st 2020 (16 months) They turned three from Jan 1st just gone. This year they will have trials for 'Yearlings' towards the end of year , so READY TO RACE this time next year as brand New 2 year olds (that get the Bonus of being Able to race the whole year as a 2 year old now instead of just the 8 months) from now on.
