Curious is saddled up and ready to go in the Sense Or Shit Stakes over at Camp Scoop It Up Dog Doodoos. His work leading into the event has been sound, with Saturday morning's trackwork indicating a positive run is likely. JMO of course as who can tell what the head puppy is likely to do to save face. C'mon Cuuuuurious Giddy Up

Geez, is it Frisky Friday? For what it's worth, in my humble old aged white man's opinion, you are all wrong. There has only ever been one true purveyor of the secondary language here in New Zealand. He was a legend and his piss taking was what endeared us to listen and learn. So very sadly missed in this fake and shoved down your throat environment today. RIP Billy T.

Luke, your are pushing shite uphill if you think anyone at NZTR gives a flying fig about your Punter's Club. It's a great idea, but only a distraction to those in the committee room yesterday - they were dealing with a water logged track, the poorest fields seen on the first day of that carnival - Te Akau only took a few down out of their couple of hundred in work....plus a total lack of interest from the local business, who are all suffering under the current regime. On a positive note, well done to owner/ breeder, Paul Hester whose mare made it two from two, and looks like getting another couple down the track. Good bloke is Paul.

I've met Gary on a number of occasions. Always found him a nice bloke to have a chat to - but as others have alluded to, the internet persona can differ from the reality. Classic example is our mate Tomarse. Beaut bugger in person but a knob in front of a keyboard. Anyway, heres an article written by none other than Tim Barton back in the day. https://www.pressreader.com/new-zealand/waikato-times/20070713/283450661997151 -
After a hell of a wet winter, these last few days have been a pleasant change from recent times. My two boys have certainly appreciated the warmer weather. Fingers crossed that my ambitions translate to their ability and achievements 😀😀 Both are by Embellish - the two year old in front and yearling behind.

Michael is on a very slow recovery in a rehab centre in Melbourne. You can do it Mikey. A nice note from Liam Howley after Saturday.

This is the info that I enjoy getting: SeibRacing @SeibRacing · Race 4 3:20pm Michael Heagney Borderlands was a big improver last start with the blinkers on. Sets up well from the low draw and out another furlong suits. Looks a good top 3 hope again -
I got asked to leave the jockey's room dining area the last time I visited Riccarton. I thought it was very bad taste of them myself.

I may have read the form book incorrectly. Here is a different slant to the story: Yesterday we were treated to a small blessing: Leo Molloy quitting the Auckland mayoralty race after a dreadful poll that saw him slump to third place behind Efeso Collins and Wayne Brown. Now, if only someone would take Viv Beck aside and tell her to quit as well. It wasn’t really surprising that Molloy quit. Most of his campaign team had quit in the past few weeks or quietly walked away mouthing platitudes. But he is correct, it was the right thing to do. Otherwise his name would have been on the ballot paper and he would have shared the blame, alongside other putative centre-right candidates, in making sure Auckland is inflicted with yet another Labour donkey for mayor. There has been quite a concerted effort on the centre-right to get the three egos to pull their heads in and pull out in favour of the highest polling candidate. That is Wayne Brown right now. There are two types of people who stand for council, and you need to craft your campaign around the personality type. There are those who need slowing down, which is easier to do than the second type of candidate, who needs speeding up. It is much easier to slow someone down than to speed someone up. Wayne Brown is one that needs slowing down. He has a proven track record in local government and health bureaucracies and has a reputation for cracking skulls on intransigent civil servants. But he is prone to rash action, hence the need to slow him down. Viv Beck is theoretically the second type, but she is a long way away from even being in a position to speed up. One wag suggested she needed to wake up first before even trying to speed up. About the only chance she would have of winning would be if the National Party broke the habit of a lifetime and actually endorsed a candidate. Some senior people inside the National Party or C&R should now quietly pay a visit to Viv Beck and get her to quit too. She stupidly will be on the ballot paper and will attract some votes, but disaster can still be averted. I’m not sure Viv Beck wants to go down in history as the person most responsible for delivering a Labour mayor from South Auckland. There comes a time in a campaign where candidates have to shit or get off the pot. Viv Beck hasn’t even taken her seat on the pot. She should just quit now. Kudos to Leo Molloy, he knew he couldn’t win, and so quit at exactly the right time. Written by Cameron Slater.

I'll bet you two apple pies with custard and whipped cream, that there was record profits for the year in the Petone bar and cafe. -
It's the only channel they watch and, coincidentally, they start them very young. It takes a lot of learning to become an NZTR graduate, but they do tend to pick up how to suck the life out of the industry, quicker than most of it's actual hands on participants.

"Chief, would you believe I'm going to single handedly resurrect CD racing????" "You go hard Special Agent Max, but how about we lift the cone of silence to your real identity"

I was looking through the TAB fields for Cambridge tomorrow - hoping the fixed odds might be posted (I know silly me) when I noticed an interesting early investment on one of the three Rogerson runners in Race 5. With only six in the field and Rogie having half of them, I expect this one to go to the front and lead all the way, whilst the other two will be trailing and one out. The other three will have to find another route, three, four and five wide to feature in the finish.

Because the mist hadn't cleared from the brain of those who make the decisions.

The TAB currently have an advert running about sport betting - three guys on the golf course - it's a total cock up of course because nobody in their right mind would punt on the Warriors.... If they had shown the boys watching a race while waiting on the tee, now that is much more believable.
