  2. Thomarse, STOP punting at New Plymouth. Everything you touch turns to shite.
  3. Brilliant Well done team.
  4. Over 300,000 people have now viewed one of the live independent videos of last Thursday. Not the MSM one sided crap. She is toast, and hopefully very burnt toast.
  5. A mate of mine wrote this and I fully agree with him: Ardern’s response to questions from the media regarding those who are participating in the protest was akin to a sulking petulant child. This confirms that NZ has its own Greta Thunberg. It has been reported that at least 50% of those participating are double or fully vaccinated. It is a tragedy when we have a PM who blatantly lies to deceive the public as to the main theme of the protest. She knows only too well that the main message is anti-mandate not anti-vaccine. She knows it. The public see it. The media are reporting it. Spin is one thing, but when NZ's PM is exhibiting an entrenched reliance on dishonesty and, appears to be oblivious to this entrench pathology, then God defend New Zealand.
  6. The first aid tents are manned by out of work nurses who lost their jobs by choosing not to be jabbed. There are at least two dozen of them on rotating shifts. It is well organised. Ordinary kiwis standing up - and good on them.
  7. Your first three words are very accurate. The remaining fourteen are fantasy.
  8. Done and the very best of luck to you guys.
  9. And another winner just now at Wagga giving her 7 wins with her last 11 starters. These are impressive stat with her small team. Nice money too.
  10. If you could convince Mickey Coleman to quit his job as bar manager at Darren Weatherley's establishment, he would be a good addition to the ranks.
  11. OK On closer inspection I think they are the old stables at Ellerslie in the background
  12. Is Norm Holland is the man in Black The track is Te Rapa
  13. My kids bought me this wallet for Christmas. I'm still trying to work out what it means. Best you pay to save any embarrassment.
  14. That is one idea I would be in favour of. Can someone give him a call.
  15. I immediately assumed there will be new tracks laid at New Plymouth, including a turf and a synthetic, training tracks plus a new stable block, grandstand and corporate area PLUS a brand new pie warmer. Am I being unkind to the bloke or have I become cynical from the recent past efforts of NZTR and the band of brothers.
  16. Meanwhile, there has been a confirmed sighting of Bridget Grylls and Madam Sass this morning. This photo was taken in the back straight of the New Plymouth racecourse just after 11.00am. NZTR have tweeted they have a meeting arranged for midday to formulate arrangements to investigate the possibility of launching lifeboats at 4.00pm, subject to confirmation of their planning committee and the signing off of these by the appropriate management personnel, and subject to their availability due to the holiday weekend. They will keep us informed as they deem suitable, when they can and if they can find a phone.
  17. A very good question. I see an enthusiastic group of younger trainers out there - Jacob McKay, Cody Cole, Daniel Millar, Meg Cunneen and Robert Dennis down South to name a few but the lack of owners and relying on family to provide the cashflow is not helping. Australia is a magnet for our younger brigade and who can blame them.
  18. Danielle trains her 6th winner from her last 10 starters when the aptly named Leather Jacket Lew wins the Sapphire Coast Cup this afternoon. That's a strike rate many would be happy to achieve.
  19. Is it just a case of follow the Dunny money?
  20. I have a question that one of you knowledgeable folk may have the answer to - not you Thomarse coz you know nothing I see a new name in the training ranks with runners at Ellerslie today. Darren Smith. In the early 2000 era there was a trainer of the same name at Newcastle who had a bad habit of having to front the stewards on numerous occasions for assisting his horses achieve excellent results. The NSW stewards finally ran out of patience and gave him a 15 year holiday, see the article below. I am assuming these are not the same person, and wish this NZ guy all the best. A Newcastle horse trainer, found guilty of dozens of doping charges, has today lost an appeal against the length of his sentence. 18 months ago Darren Smith's horse training operation was shut down by Racing New South Wales stewards. He was found guilty of using cobalt chloride on his runners and given a 15-year ban. He lost an appeal to the Racing Appeals Panel and then also the Racing Appeals Tribunal. Today, Smith was unsuccessful in his bid to reduce the sentence. "Yeah, I was hoping for much less," he said. "But, it's happened now and we move on to the next chapter of our lives." Smith said has he has had to lay off 30 workers, but the impact does not stop there. "It affects the farriers, the produce stores, the mechanics of the trucks," he said. "I'm devastated about it." Racing New South Wales chairman of stewards Ray Murrihy said Smith cannot train horses again until 2029. "Or enter onto a race track, or participate in thoroughbred racing in any of the matters that are prohibited under the rules of racing," he said. Mr Murrihy said Racing New South Wales feels vindicated by the decision. "There were 20 odd races that were affected, there were multiple breaches, all impacting on the integrity of racing," he said. Smith maintains there was no threshold for the use of the substance, and he should not be penalised. Stewards based their decision to ban Smith by relying on a rule prohibiting any substance which alters the blood pattern of a horse.
  21. Saturday’s race was won by Niedorp, who finished strongest of all with top Kiwi jockey Samantha Collett in the saddle. The 5-year-old mare has now had six wins and nine placings in a 26-start career. “Sam had a good plan and she executed it well,” Gollan told Racenet.
  22. Correction Chief.......it was Shaun McKay riding at Ellerslie. Regardless, It was an awful watch, with the horse having no chance from that position - I though it looked uncomfortable in the parade - it doesn't normally sweat up like that so maybe the trip down had an effect. The winner was very good and nothing would have beaten it on the day.
  23. Sorry, I don't have the energy, or money, to be friends with you today.
  24. It would be extremely helpful if masks were removed for interviews - or a transcript or translation (for our Indian riders) was provided onscreen so we could read what is being said. This is madness.
