  1. No mates the other day I posted my experience of senz app and a certain smartarse told me to stop being a moaner on all things racing not that I care anyway but here's my ovservation Firstly they have a app that we in NZ can download,it contains trackside simulcast that the TAB run plus a few stations, one station is call sen track, racing but trackside radio on a saturday arvo consist of 4 guys sitting in a studio waffling about the race just been and the race coming up,no commentaries,no results, check it out for yourself,if they try to run that sort of shit here then it wont last long, however hopefully someone over here will do better, and you are right,1 till 5 ain't long and yes I'm not the only one who's stated that the real racing starts after 5,having said that it does emphasize what a good job they did do on TAB trackside, this new setup might do good for sport,as for racing I will and we all will wait and see.
  2. Might be ok sports wise,as for racing, not so sure.
  3. Be fair to say when Awapuni get AWT then Wanganui might lose days
  4. Reasonable fields for both Timaru today and Riccarton saturday, despite some average weather so in reality there is room for both days yet Timaru lose this meeting next year to Oamaru who strangely lose their day from last week to the AWT,Timaru losing three days is a bit rough,Wyndham stood up for themselves to get their days back, maybe some common sense is needed.
  5. One thing I dont think is good is the large number of Addington sunday meetings, they get the prime friday night, leave sundays for other clubs, southland should get the sundays in spring until the grass season kicks off in Canterbury and daylight saving starts, then southland can race midweek if it need be,at least in the north it's all pretty consistent, thursdays and fridays.only exception is CD racing. Sundays really should be for smaller centers, gallops and trots.
  6. Forbury in particular in recent times has been having some very small fields and only 8 races,a sign of the times but not a good look.
  7. Just at present I would say weather wise, not much difference between Southland and Canterbury.
  8. Have you lived in Southland?
  9. Timaru, thursday,Riccarton, saturday, its going to be interesting seeing how things pan out.
  10. Maybe just letting the form slip to better the odds for next time.
  11. Am I correct that jimmies pies or some of them stopped being made for a while or have stopped completely? Some of them weren't in the shop for a time. Those Irvine big pies or whatever they call them are ok.
  12. Maybe they should just plough the whole track up ,then they all pick their way around the best they can,the smartest ones get the lootđŸ˜€
  13. Strange as it one of the driest parts of the country runs a race meeting and what happens a few days earlier,it pisses down, seems to happen often at Napier when having a major cricket match,we can't control nature,we have to live alongside.
  14. Does that mean free bear, gee if that was the case they would be queuing up,how about the mutton pies,or have they replaced with those vegan ones that taste like shit coz they probably are shit.
  15. And we have all been going on about racing at one or two venues in winter more because of the better track condition but it is still winter and always on the cards(bad weather),the nominations were good but the fields just average, maybe a lot were thinking dry track and left dissapointed, unlike the track in Christchurch though Oamaru will get a long spell after August which probably makes a difference.
  16. There is a lot of negativity here sometimes but there is a lot in all facets in life nowadays,so many clever fuckers making a fuck up of everything, where is it gunna end? 100 million not enough for the government donation to the Americas Cup,really and that just for hosting
  17. It does seem a lot stakewise for very small fields,I guess those turning up won't need to push their horses too hard to pick up some good coin,in a way they gain, the industry loses, every big race just about struggles for numbers these days, sad but true. The national meeting in Riccarton will be interesting ,if all the runners come from the north and with the emphasis on racing where the horse population is,jumping wise be hard to justify keeping it going. In some ways I think Riccarton and Addington are having a bit too much influence over other clubs.
  18. Looks like they are gunna be on a heavy track at Oamaru too, it does happen, it is winter remember, nominations are good, maybe trainers just assume it's gunna be a good track, not at this stage anyway.kind of unfortunate ,when did they last race there?
  19. Oamaru, friday, industry meeting be interesting to see how numbers stack up,yet sunday there is no gallop meeting, sundays in winter can be pretty drab affairs, agood day to sit home watch racing, fridays ain't that bad but a lot of people do actually have to work,a lot less on sundays work but maybe a slight improvement in the quality of the racing, maybe a open handicap race as the main race or are they going to miss racing on a good track and plough through a bog next week at Riccarton instead, interesting scenarios.
  20. Alexy must be getting near retirement too,I think hes up to about 326 now
  21. Phone app for cricket last was stopping and starting, dont know if the problem was at my end or somewhere else but once again reiterates the fact that technology is still airyfairy lots of times, radio is usually reliable unless you run out if battery or back over it or somethingđŸ˜‚and they say it's free online but those internet provider charges can mount up over time.
  22. 3 days racing at Riccarton in August must take a lot out of the track, maybe a feature day or two saturdays at Washdyke both makes Timaru more viable and eases the load on Ricarton, our climate is simply not as favourable as aussie, even Ashburton have a couple of feature days Trentham is a bit of a problem child course these days, logic would suggest if they want to cut down travelling then with the AWT in Cambridge negates the need for Ruakaka, yet they race fortnightly in winter which actually is easing the workload of another track,Ellerslie is having a good spell for a month or two,I guess you can say it's a horses for courses issue, having said that why are a lot of these courses no longer standing up as well as they once did.
  23. Does anybody believe it will ever return,or is it gone for good.
  24. I see Devlins not on zb again this weekend, hard to believe hes on holiday doing part time hours, maybe hes gone. Senz on the app are running the same stream that the tab have at this stage but the cricket was on the phone app only, coudnt find it on the pc but its a work in progress,a lot of new apps dont work on older devices it seems.
