Agree Galah, Richie in the last article thingee, seemed to think that because one was against repeat repeat the same article that you are for CHEATS. That was never and has never been my message. Don't want to get involved but my observation is that, the 2 Press and Star, repeat the same info re Harness - like print the same from each other type thing. Other than these 2 the rest of the media thru out NZ do not. Its just something that I have noticed. May absolutely be wrong however. Feel free to point this out to me if so. Both based out of CHC or Canterbury. Both seem to have a bee in bonnet for Harness. Actually thought it was a bit more balanced than the others coming from the Press. Anyway moving out of this thread.

So Karrots put some feelers out, as was curious, more as to why it was said lol. Word is that they both saying something what was said was something along the lines of: Sizzle, sizzle, you are going a bit slow aren’t you. Karrots finds this a bit hard to believe, based on the mouth work, but guess you never know.

Wasn't sure where to put this or even if it was worth sharing, noticed that Amazing Dreams new USA based owners are the same owners as American Dealer. Obviously they are watching the NZ racing etc. Saw Smooth Deal has been sold too from Feiss to new owners & changed stables. But guessing that is more due to lack of performing.

Iv seen a couple of races recently & 2 drivers going for lead are tots talking to each other. Always wonder what they are saying. Re-watched the whole race re McCaffery & nothing untoward happened during running, so suspect he is just being a (Cheeky Monkey). Going by what you say, sounds like banter lol is quite common place on the track, well Oz at least.

Or maybe it was actually a message to Cross Codes & not Whittaker lol (cheeky monkey karrots) or maybe just super excited to win the race 😛

Recall N Rass saying in a video not long ago that trainers (not them) were trying to keep training costs down for people. Because obviously it gets expensive & she thought owners did it for the joy, not to make money. I felt this statement was more accurate than not. Thanks for sharing info & comments ALL re training fees - outgoings etc. Its a tricky one. Upt the cost too much & owners may drift away, lower it & trainers struggle. Raise stakes & get minimal noms re Alex. Lower stakes & the rest suffer. Is that On a positive note, at least people get to do what they enjoy, so that is a bonus.

Thanks Gamms, Woodlands have their weanlings for sale list 68 out now, so been checking that. There is always something for us to look at isn't there bringing us entertainment/joy 😄 Was thinking, the North Clubs could get 1 or 2 passed in yearling sale Lots from South & bring them up North. Go for less expensive ones to keep costs down. Highest percentage of horses fit into the R40-R60 bracket anyway. Great idea re family groups, sports club groups 👍 Remember Forbs suggesting a BOAY horsey, golly could you imagine the rage if the horsey didn't win lol 😂

Also numbers that retired due to not being competitive anymore, & also retired due to becoming broodmares & if retired to become broodmare was it due to not being competitive? Starting to sway towards Gamms thoughts that running more races for less stake money, more regular & dropping distance, but with smaller fields in Nth. So more regular racing amongst like for like in North. (An example re Alex shows that even with higher stakes does not result in bigger fields). Average & below average horses need somewhere to race & be competitive for as long as possible. Then there would be more races run, so Nth Jnrs could get a once a month race at least. There would be more drives too, because more races. Haven’t thought of the cons, most likely be some & from a betting prospective, any thoughts for or against?

Was wondering if there are any public stats on number of horses started season 2019/2020 which gives both North & South & overall figures? Then the number of those started horses only during 19/20 season who were exported again from N & S & overall? Might of given our very own resident Brodie & the new top dog BOAY resident Jonny Longshot a run for their $. Yikes re stab in the back by jealous Waikato Trainer. Yes the handicapping system is tricky isn't it. Read American Dealer will be heading overseas to do racing in Oz with Copy That, but CT will return but A.D won't. Yes AD has USA owners, but will be Open Class here now so moving on.

That is right Ludwig, it came from 1 of your favourites, 1 of the Williamsons, not this particular K Purdon thing, but DEF that is where Karrots heard the BIRD story from.
