  1. The Fixer had every chance last year and was belted by Nat as we all know. Didnt think the Fixer should’ve been as short as what it was. Spankem was always a bit of a risk of not going 3200m as good as the shorter distances whereas after last years run Cruz Bromac was always going to be a massive chance if he began well, and he did with Blair at the helm. Ranga, do not bother.
  2. Although it was the AllStars that won the NZ Cup it was good to see different owners win the cup, even though they were OZzies. Was interesting that Purdon said that he would’ve liked more time with the horse bearing in mind he had gone 2 very good races since he has been back in ChCh and was very unlucky last year. Wouldve been enough time to have blood spinning no doubt.
  3. Have been out and about and watching races on the phone. The best part of it so far is when the AllStars horses get beaten! Just brilliant to watch the winning owners outside the AllStars owners winning races and being jubilant. Totally sick watching the same owners plundering the stakes and just so refreshing to see the excitement and joy of Darren Keast and his father Jamie Keast after their second win for the day. Sure beats the other puke material!! Lol
  4. The point being that people are going to be a helluva lot better off than people who are racing horses without doubt.
  5. Basil , to be fair the median price of a house in Christchurch in 1999 was $175k and 20 years later it is $450k so an increase of $257% over that 20 years. On that basis the stake going on your $14,939 should be $38,393 so effectively a extremely low increase in stake compared to someone who has invested in a property, Basil.
  6. Hunter, just can not be bothered with Ranga trying to disrupt this great site. So I am going to not post for awhile and maybe his antagonistic, split personalities may settle down in time.
  7. Not sure, I don’t profess to be an expert on old races etc, however I do know that He won some sort of Junior or probationary Championship and read about him coming from a non racing family. Ranga, is only here to disrupt BOAY as the Darkside is basically gone into hibernation. I can not be bothered with him anymore as he has some major issues! Got better things to do in life than be called a liar by an imbecile!! Going to give posting away on here for awhile, while he is still around. Dont care if I have said things to him which I wouldn’t normally, however I am not going to waste my time with him again! Keep up all the good work all you other good contributors.?
  8. Ranga, go take a running jump. Graeme Ward won a Junior Or probationary drivers Championship at Addington. Go and argue with yourself and if you call me a liar again I will take it further.
  9. Ranga, think what u want about Brodie. Half the time you are sensible and then the other half you are a drop kick, just trying to be an antagonist for the sheer hell of it. Brodie does not tell lies and the fact you constantly try and call me a liar is blatantly juvenile and pointless. Pull your head in Ranga as you achieve nothing but show that you are lacking something.
  10. Ranga, you are being a drop kick! it was meant to read BEST, not rest. Just leave it, you argue for the flippen hell of it. Go and take your meds, and get some sleep, you need it!
  11. FFS Ranga! Get a life, no lies told. The point was that top junior are being lost out of the industry. I don’t keep records or can be bothered with that detail but I do remember him being a champion Junior driver and ai was right on that accord. Graeme Ward was the top Junior of his year in Canterbury where the strongest competition is. Graeme Ward WON a Juniors championship against the rest of all the Juniors or probationary in NZ. If you want to be such a PEDANTIC TOSSER, you are not worth Replying to!!! ?
  12. Correct., so how did you know that it was going to be leaving Craig Buchan’s training ?
  13. Ranga, take your meds! What lies once again?
  14. $51 would have been major overs in a 6 horse field, so they probably just adjusted it as in the other one that long. $20 would’ve shortened it in.
  15. There is always a reason for being repetitive!
  16. Harewood, you are correct that it is more comfortable to be watching the racing from your own home. The ting is though that racing enthusiasts got the racing bug from being oncourse and soaking in the atmosphere years ago. They are the people that are still punting to a smaller degree now than years ago. Reality is that if young ones are not regularly going oncourse and watching racing, I would suggest that it is unlikely that young ones won’t all of a sudden start punting at the local pub or open a TAB account to punt! If new people are not attracted enough to racing and going oncourse there is certainly a huge doubt that there will be enough people continuing to offload on racing, as the existing hardcore punters move on!! You only need to look at a lot of the tote pools nowadays on most meetings and the pools seem so much smaller than they used to. Got no idea how much is wagered on fixed odds either as these are never advertised by the TAB. What I do know is that the TAB are losing a lot of punters By their policies that are designed to eliminate certain punters, but has ongoing bad side effects that can only be fixed by a change of policy.
  17. Used to have some pretty fair goes on the NRL, however hard to follow the form so I don’t bother now. Great win just now for the NZ women’s 9’s over Oz.
  18. Elmer Fudd lol
  19. Enhance Your Calm appeared to be the better trotter when they started against each other. Not sure where Enhance Your Calm is at at the mo, but clearly Oscar has continued to improve.
  20. When Craig Buchan trained him, you seriously couldn’t think that he showed enough to win 2 or 3. You may be correct that he won’t be sold overseas due to his rough gate, however Mark may well send him over to race on the big track at Menangle.
  21. They need to bring them out in The morning of the meeting so that punters can have a go rather than just before the meeting starts.
  22. Greg, most harness enthusiasts are well and truly over the dominance of harness racing by the one stable. Yes, we all know you love them, but I can tell you that there are a heck of a lot more punters that would like to see them training overseas. Does not affect me now as I am not investing while I am classed as a money launderer, however I still look at fields and it is a total turnoff when you see 3 or 4 AllStars horses in a field. While this continues, there are going to be fewer owners and horses involved in NZ. You can keep worshipping but reality is that NZ harness racing is currently at a crossroads and the future is not looking overly rosey in the next decade.
  23. They bring them out too late for TAB agency Punters to have a go. TAB bring them out early and get turnover as that is the only way you are going to get punters offloading if you allow them to. Being Scrooge is not going to work for you and before you know it you will be on the chopping board like TV3
  24. Hunter, I am sure you are right. Personally haven’t gone oncourse to a meeting for a few months now, as if I aren’t allowed to bet without having to prove who I am, they can get stuffed. When they put the camera on the course, you can tell that there is buggerall there now. Reality is that the enthusiasts who used to go all the time oncourse are now just staying at home and watching on Trackside. The major problem is that there are no new people coming to the course unless it is a fundraiser.
  25. Yes there were some very good performances People must get sick of seeing the same stable running 1 2 3 4 in a 7 horse field! I certainly do and this is causing tote pools to not be worth punting into for many punters. When tote pools are far less than the stake for the race, there is a major issue happening.
