The answer is finding a formula for mixing trials and races. For public interested in seeing horses going around trials far more appealing with only 10-15 minute intervals. However there is no publicity or encouragement to attend. Last week Avondale had 25 trial heats surely that was the day to attend. Dates for trials could correspond with racing both here and Australia so give oncourse patrons something to bet on.. Just needs someone thinking outside the square.

Closing provincial tracks will ruin New Zealand racing
The Centaur replied to Delta Bro's topic in Galloping Chat
Here and there you have some valid points. All drowned out by the fact you have a word on everything. Surely there must be a better way to debate. -
Immigration, AirBNB have been the main reasons for the huge rise in property values. The policy of requiring certain immigrants bring in say $1M has directly led to greater demand, whilst others have accessed overseas borrowing facilities not available to locals. In turn this has placed huge demands on so many services primarily health. Some investors driving this boom haven't even resided here so have benefitted on the backs of average NZer's. With the demand on services this has placed half the population worse off whilst others have had a windfall. Those not on the property boom now face a far greater hurdle to get on. Capital gains tax or some sort of counter measure is a must to bring about a balance. Otherwise we'll have a feudal type system where some just sit on property whilst others work 60 hours a week without the chance of owning a house.

30 HOURS TO THE BIGGEST COCK UP BY TAB
The Centaur replied to TIME FOR CHANGE's topic in Galloping Chat
Noticed that the "automated" Singapore odds aren't all that quick at reacting to late punts in Singapore itself. So what does the pathetic TAB do? In the closing minutes someone in the TAB closes off any betting on the late plunger but leave the rest open at the existing odds. The midnight hour totally throws the website into a tizz. The popups like quinella prices, betting movers either don't come up or else the wrong meeting comes up. Several other bits and pieces lose their slippers as well after midnight. -
30 HOURS TO THE BIGGEST COCK UP BY TAB
The Centaur replied to TIME FOR CHANGE's topic in Galloping Chat
The more I try this website the more I come to your conclusion it is crap. Example tried to place a simple bet which before would take aprox 10 clicks i.e, trifecta. Back tracked on this web site and I admit made a few mind changes but took an incredible 60 clicks. Yes 60 clicks ok i changed from first four to trifecta had to resubmit choices then clear rubbish bets in basket even so 60 clicks is ludicrous. -
Very strange. Only small field. Very strange in next race as well. Sprinted twice on Germanicus to get outside leader (reverse tactics) then gave winner plenty room to come through. Strange the bookies were lengthening Germanicus suggesting some big Baker/Forsman runners had all ups in play.

Might be milestone for NZ golfer Ryan Fox going for 1st European Tour win in a few minutes. Currently $2.10 which seems generous.

30 HOURS TO THE BIGGEST COCK UP BY TAB
The Centaur replied to TIME FOR CHANGE's topic in Galloping Chat
Content of the website and structure are two different topics unless the structure has removed or altered the presentation of the content. If TAB see the complaints just about content they will crow "no complaints how we spent $50M. on structure" -
30 HOURS TO THE BIGGEST COCK UP BY TAB
The Centaur replied to TIME FOR CHANGE's topic in Galloping Chat
I may be wrong but from memory the problem of putting on unwanted bets like in $10 units instead just a $10 percentage caused a response from Dept of Internal Affairs about a dozen years ago. Also the consumer trading watchdog who are quite strict that no consumer should ever buy something they don't want. AS a result the TAB put in the controls and alerts. Therefore the TAB have now completely ignored and disrespected the Department.previous ruling. Thats how rogue organisations behave. -
Rubbish CS. If it was generally posted to staff hardly confidential. Its called whistleblowing and an accepted tactic in most western governments. There might not be wrongdoing disclosed but the disclosure is of genuine interest to racing supporters who fund the huge salaries of some in the organisation. I suggest you are being too cautious. Although dispersing comments within the document a bit confusing.

The loss in revenue as a result of the "new" platform soon swallows up the disputed $5M.

30 HOURS TO THE BIGGEST COCK UP BY TAB
The Centaur replied to TIME FOR CHANGE's topic in Galloping Chat
I don't know what you are complaining about. This is a sports betting web why should they bother about tote dividends for horse racing although some of the fields from Aquaduct look a bit thin. Maybe they'll rethink. -
Take some solace. Racing clubs around the world will come to realize that given current technology they don't need the TAB, Paddy Power, William Hill and the army of other parasites. Combining together to produce the infrastructure needed. The middle man i.e. the TAB can be eliminated leaving just the clubs that put on the show and the punter. Its happened everywhere the middleman is getting eliminated. Wagering is no different.

Amazing what a bit of persuasion some may call it a threat can do. Check out the two headlines above and below.

Lee Anne Rimes -for Pukekohe-Thats massive

Bugger. Missed her don't know how. Wished they would take down their adds. Most embarrassing? -
Might not be a raceday but I just can't believe the promoters have snared Lee Anne Rimes for Pukekohe Mar 4. Anyone have anything further on this.

The ruling specifically on a number of occasions stated that Weir was not being accused of using electric shock equipment. So what do one of the many fake news providors do? https://www.radionz.co.nz/news/world/381885/trainer-s-four-year-ban-for-using-electric-shocks-on-horses

Mostly speculation. No proof. Having an unsafe car can be cruel to other motorists potentially causing death. The culprit isn't going to have his unique much acclaimed multi million dollar business destroyed and be deprived of a livelihood.
-
The legal pros put a lot of weight into the word "intent". There has not been any proof Weir has ever used a jigger. Just by having them in his bedroom could mean he is making triply sure no one can use them. How they came to be there is anybody's guess. Some employee may have brought them onto the property and Weir has confiscated them. Having a gun doesn't mean the intent is to kill someone although it could be. Same with the jiggers its impossible to speculate what the intent was of having them put away in the master bedroom. I hardly think he would have ordered them from ebay.
-
Last time I heard the jiggers were discovered in a safe. So I presume a safe in the master bedroom. AS a matter of interest what source has got the MASTER bedroom bit?

Sorry to have dismembered your argument. Better luck next time. !!

And the stewards have said there are NO videos or photographs
-
Simple conclusion Darren Weir was railroaded Here is some facts the Aussie press don't mention. When the police "raided" they did it in a flare of publicity only trouble it was all rubbish. The famous video's and photo's of jiggers being used or other dodgy goings on was just a bluff or ruse typically employed by police to get the suspect talking. The stewards have admitted there are no photos or videos but don't expect the Aussie press talking about that. So instead of talking the baffled Darren Weir suddenly clams up. Why? Obviously he believed someone in his organization was really misbehaving so why say anything at that stage. Immediately he is slapped with a refusing to talk charge. Everything points to someone in the Police using the excuse of monitoring phone calls as a way to hopefully get racing tips. When asked to wrap up the investigation they latch on the gun and cocaine found as a means to justify all the spying going on. What other explanation can there be. Strange how the stewards aren't interested in the gun or cocaine finds. The stewards and racing authorities are also the victims. They are trying their hardest to show they are trying to keep racing clean. Trouble is they are misguided.

Darren Weir must have been involved with thousands of horses by now. I have not seen one instance on the internet of any occasion he has been cruel. He daughters, female staff by their nature would be aghast at any cruelty. I have no idea why they were in the stable just as I have no idea why his fathers old pea shooter was in the stable and at this stage neither do you. I have over the years seen so many injustices with a mob like mentality I feel I can smell one fairly well. This happens to be one. Particularly in regards Jarrod Maclean.
