  1. 27 Oct 2011 but between May and October they had 5 meetings and fields held up well. Fritzy Boy was a notable winner in one of those meetings.
  2. Anyone been to a container mall overseas or Christchurch and New Plymouth? Would seem an ideal fit for racing clubs as the structures are not permanent giving extra life to flagged tracks With the markets already at Avondale that would seem an excellent option.
  3. I don't know about that. The UK whip style looks awful plus seems much more forceful. Anyway as an aside if you were a horse would you prefer the whip or a grumpy jockey yanking your mouth. Never hear that mentioned.
  4. Yes could be ok Blue Valley but always a mystery these overseas horses. I really like Tia Celeste. The only claimer, drawn out a bit (last race), extra distance but for mine I love those horses on the water walker. Great each way go.
  5. Took quite some time building up web balance and all blown in one hit with a trifecta that didn't go through as percentage. After years of battling the TAB put controls on the amount spent in one bet. That was a must for anyone carrying a decent balance. Now after spending $50M on the new website its not possible to have controls and limits. Yet along the left side there is a setting option leading one to believe the old settings still exist. Thats dishonest. Like I said to the TAB when one buys a new car one doesn't expect to have to hunt around town for new tyres. The TAB website and all those associated with it is a disgrace to the internet.
  6. Exactly. Most posters are perfectly able to take on Molloy themselves but are prevented as its a one sided game. And yes it is a game to Leo he has admitted it himself. Molloy in the hospitality business has followed the principle make one group feel exclusive by demonizing another group. The first group can't see anything wrong , couldn't care or enjoy the entertainment. The tactics employed by Molloy are oh so predictable. e.g. make out you know a person and divulge slightly true mostly untrue stuff so that the majority actually believes him. In my case I had a perfectly normal 2 minute meeting and from that he makes out he meets me everytime at the races. There are positives about Leo. Some things others can learn from like hiding assets in trusts or how to use ones family to punt on a venture. Lets be clear there are millions of successful business people why would anyone be jealous or whatever about one in particular its all in the strange mind of Leo. The types of slander or defamation employed by Molloy in your case is also familiar. Make out you are getting information from one party so the victim may think someone other than Leo is causing the trouble. Mumble .... the person who should be starving the oxygen is the Racecafe moderator who is too weak to follow the rules with Molloy.
  7. Anyone who reads the Internet harmful communication act and is familiar with Molloy's history with racecafe will wonder how he is still posting. When he was taken to court and dealt an almost $200k blow one could surmise there were conditions on his posting. That didn't stop him. He smeared his mates name by posting as him OK his HQ venture has been a huge financial success now he can't help himself crowing about it. So much so he looks to have voluntarily paid of old creditors which legally he wasn't bound to. That's good I applaud that, What cannot be applauded is deliberate very hurtful attacks on a member of the wider McKee family. That is illegal behaviour under the act. Trying to portray himself as a victim must be joke of the century. It would appear Molloy is on purpose making a big scene and giving it to McKenzie as he departs racecafe and poor old scooby still thinks Molloy is god. Crazy.
  8. Raced a bit dour at the finish. Got shut out when trying to follow Morweka. The way Vendima pounds the track obviously explains why sparingly raced on firm not that it grows another leg on easier tracks. I asked Peter Williams why Vendima went south and he reckoned it didn't like right handed tracks. Don't know if he was confusing with another horse but interesting he quickly had it up to a mile. The Ridley's have been staunch about just sprinting. I'd like to see how it goes middle distance on a soft track even though it races fierce.
  9. At $21 tomorrow Vendima given a bit of luck late is great value. Comes in well at the weights and actually beat the favourite last time they met. Any easing of track is big help hopefully Dead5 or worse. Doni Prastiyou reunited with the mare. From 1 at barrier it will force the rider to be patient which is what is needed.
  10. For the sake of being argumentative I say its better than nothing at all. Perhaps you could guide me to the TAB's promotion for the Kentucky Derby. A comment such as four wins in a row would be huge if it doesn't clash with the NBA.
  11. Well at least its better than writing "watch the tote" which they do quite often. NZ is far better off for racing info than other places. The UK sites such as racinpost and sportinglife I find very awkward and slow and then getting the video requires payment, placing bet or other restrictions.. NZTR deserves credit for supplying data ready for import into spreadsheets or databases. Other outfits such as Australia make it as difficult as possible to freely obtain data. They cling to the idea their precious results data is copyright. In this day and age that notion is rubbish.
  12. Got to take issue with some of your points. The TAB should NOT be involved in the form information side particularly trying and not being successful incorporating it into the betting layout. It must be developed independently then linked in the most convenient fashion. Anyone involved in IT should see the necessity of that. Having followed IT for many years one thing that stands out is even the most holiest of grails can be made obsolete and even the most clued up experts can be wrong. e.g. Microsoft never really saw the Internet coming and Xerox basically gave away the windows interface to Apple. Therefore the TAB website could easily become obsolete there is no guarantee. Might be OK at home with a decent screen but when on the go messing around with an app on the phone not much fun. Getting information and placing a bet will become far simpler with technology so the $50M spent may quickly have to be written off.
  13. Always keen to look at mysteries. I think the problem is having two Riverton meetings close together both Jetbet#6. Probably stems from non racing person fed Mondays fields over the top of Saturday fields. The NZTR man supplying the fields off on an early holiday. Hard to believe but it would appear the fields then needed to be inputed by hand. That still doesn't explain Monday also having no data. The extended form obviously under a different system so not affected. Playing around with queries and cut and paste should have fixed everything but maybe the system or training is such its not possible.
  14. Act Actually quite an exhaustive analysis of the situation I thought.
  15. LOL AD (AD stands for all day) If the FOB disaster came earlier the results would have been far worse. Curious auditors conclusion needs careful reading. "Conclusion Based on our review, nothing has come to our attention that causes us to believe that these interim financial statements of the Group do not present fairly, in all material respects, the financial position of the Group as at 31 January 2019, and of its financial performance and cash flows for the period then ended, in accordance with IAS 34 and NZ IAS 34."
  16. "Tuned" into the song i mean TAB website Saturday night to see how the million dollar experts would handle daylight saving. All I saw and heard was Neil Young playing his song. Something like adjusting time before the off just outside the skill range at the TAB
  17. Not realized by many is that back in the sixties Trevor McKee kept Taranaki racing going. He was by far the biggest supporter in terms of numbers visiting horses. I mentioned that to him a year ago whilst watching trials at Avondale and also thought he looked quite well. Very sad how quickly over one year his health must have deteriorated. That on top of Kevin Crampton so not a good time for the Takanini connection.
  18. Look we are on the same "page". THe Informant Form Supplement may be a work of art but just impractical. However some sort of printed fields are required but in a more on demand way that compliments online information. The racing media would function much better away from Racing Board control.
  19. Its really hard for an independent outfit to publish these days. One of the factors not appreciated by many is that in the days of Friday Flash,Best Bets/Turf Digest,Sportsweek shops, dairies would have advertising billboards, on the counter presence etc promoting the publication and indirectly racing. Whether its NZTR or TAB they really must set up a separate media organisation for TV, Radio, Print and web. A $2.00 publication is the way to go.
  20. I think some of that $50m has ended up on the waterfront at the Viaduct. One stern critic on another site drastically changed his tune and now only bashes NZTR.
  21. Just go to clipform.net Been there for twenty years same format. Not guaranteed being 100% accurate but quick to to get a comprehensive idea of the form.
  22. Yes The Informant should have tried a different format ditching the form supplement, reducing the price to $2.00 just as an incentive for the retailer and relied on advertising, Also making a deal with NZR/HRNZ/GRNZ and sports bodies for supply of content. Circulation and advertising go together. Years ago I suggested to Dennis Ryan to have the Form supplement separated but he was adamant it must be included. I really think he was a late acceptor to the fact race form is best suited online.
  23. A publication these days starts with advertisements then if you can fit it in the articles. Any other approach won't work.
  24. Christian Crusader possibly a bit silly I guess. Nazi Warrior wouldn't go down as well so a bit of common sense needed. As for Nasrullah you.ve got me baffled there.
  25. I go to the website because Happy Valley is racing. Expect to see it in the "next to go" box because TV says 5 minutes to start. No Hong Kong there at all. Has Greyville, Compaigne etc but no Happy Valley. Click yesterday still no Happy Valley in box but find it as per yesterday. Click win movers and get Pakenham. Click Extended form for Happy Valley and get Pakenham as well.
