  1. Good on you Girlie, hope you get your day in court. Its testimony such as yours that will get to the truth. But please don't bring the metoo movement into it, bunch of feminists for mine. And as for Catholic Priests, I find myself supporting George Pell the Archbishop of Melbourne at this time. Not a good analogy for mine. I will bet dollars to donuts George will win his appeal and be released. He has been railroaded. And no, I'm not Catholic, but I have looked at the evidence in his case, and there is none other than hype, and a public frenzy to hang Catholic Priests. I invite you to google George Pell and the evidence, and see what you think.
  2. Co mingling not working. 3rd world stuff.
  3. Yes, you are right Noms, I have got my races mixed up. But they spent far to much time on the goats going round in the last at Auckland, and didn't cross for the real race until far to late. And I do not work for NZTR thanks. You need a law degree to work there.
  4. No, you just don't get it. Let me fill you in. A horse called Winx just happened to be going for 31 straight. Who in their right mind would want to watch a field of slugs battling it out over a mile and half on a goat track in Auckland when a real equine super star is performing in Sydney 10 minutes later. Trackside should of crossed earlier.

    Dog Caller?

And how would you know he was pissed, and his name is Brian, not brain.
  6. Keep asking Crosscodes, maybe time to email the NZGRA and demand an answer. I shall start by sending one to the CEO tomorrow.

Punch on Ruby lines up yesterday at Wanganui 1.9 kilo's down. She is a 26 kilo bitch. Been referred to the JCA.
  11. I gave up on NZ racing 10 years ago, now only have the odd bet on them. Unlike Barry I find NZ racing boring, and totally unreliable. The quality of Jockeys is 3rd world, and the horseflesh not much better. In this day and age, I ask myself, why would anybody bet on NZ TB racing. The tracks are woeful, and administration not far behind. I avoid all betting mediums that are not co mingled, eg, trifecta's, trebles, pick 6's. I prefer Victorian racing, although do bet sometimes on NSW racing especially around carnival times. The presentation is light years ahead of anything here in NZ at all levels. Thats my view on it.
  12. OK Yankiwi. Makes no difference as photo has gone. Please except my apologies.
  13. The young man handling the dog in the picture Yankiwi posted.
  14. Hey, the boy is doing a good job, and looks most professional. He appears to be well turned out. Nice clean trousers and white shirt, annnnnd, polished black shoe's.

Quiet simple really, besides the welfare issue which is a subject on its own. With 10 individual people having a litter each, will have the effect to foster and grow the industry much better than one greedy individual having 10 litters. 1 greedy individual may bring a few new people in, whereas 10 individual breeders will bring in many more. Its called ten times one Honestly. As for the welfare issue, it makes sense that one litter with one breeder will be better looked after and loved, rather than a greedy farmer trying to win races and dominate through sheer numbers. They will be more inclined to get individual attention. You see Honestly, the farmers are so consumed with greed, that they are not satisfied with out producing everyone else on the planet with breeding as many as they can, but they then line them up as pups before they have matured, not caring about the damage or risk that they subject their charges too. Doing this really exposes the farmers motivation, which is sheer greed above all else. Getting rid of the farmers will allow the sport to develop and grow. Keeping the farmers will have the opposite effect.

I see Honestly's other persona I Know, commentating on the Dead Dogs on the Ferry thread on that other rubbish site that goes by the name of RaceCafe.
  17. OK I'll give it a go. The security guard, at least 30 weeks gone.
  18. My view its not a problem. It becomes a problem when one makes it one. To date, I do not think there has ever been an incident when dogs are on the dias, or coming back after a race. It is against the nature of a Greyhound to attack humans whether they are adults or kids, and no amount of squeakers in kids shoe's will change this. Long may common sense prevail. Anyway, if a kid was that stupid to wear squeakers in their shoes, they deserve to be attacked, then taken out the back and given a good spanking.

  20. Just so I have this right Cocky, Deb took this case to a small claims/disputes tribunal, rather than a regular Court. Do I have this right.
  21. Since the 90's, end of last century, the law changed making Clubs and other organisations responsible for providing a safe environment at race tracks and other domains. This law change made it possible to sue clubs for injury or death where negligence can be proved on the part of the Club, whether that applies to humans or animals. The first successful case, and it involved millions, was from Sth Australia, and this from memory involved a jockey suing a race club for injuries he received. He was successful. After that case a memo was sent to all race clubs advising they take out insurance against such liability. Clubs these days have to be very careful they provide a safe environment for animals and humans. Since then OSH has evolved and reinforced this. You will notice this now on many tracks where clubs provide padding on gates and other identified hazards on horse tracks. There has been successful cases brought by horse owners against clubs for the loss of valuable horse flesh because a club was at fault.

Blazing Banjo steps out today for start number 9. Turned 17 months on the 5th Feb a week ago. This 35kg dog has had 9 races in the last 32 days. Some will see this as acceptable, I don't. I call it very poor placement with scant regard for the dogs future, and indicative of the greedy nature that pervades Greyhound racing in 2019.
  23. Yes, I can vouch for the fact that the dog farming kennels get swabbed a fraction of that which is required by small kennels or trainers with less than half a dozen dogs. On a percentage basis, the small or boutique kennel gets hammered just about everytime they have a win, maybe about 50% of winners, whereas the dog farming operations would be lucky to hit 20% of winners to swabs. This was my observations of the process.
  24. No, they just press on the adam's apple. Take their temp, which is a crock, because it is normal for a dog to have an elevated temp after travel especially if going to the track, so unless the temp is clearly elevated, then a miss diagnosis is and would be likely. Also, highly unusual for kennel cough to be doing the rounds in the middle of summer. Not making a judgement, but there will be more to this than meets the eye.
  25. What if the dog had a foreign body stuck in the trachea on the friday, such as sponge rubber from bedding or whatever, and the Vet misdiagnosed it for kennel cousgh at the track. Then in the next 24 hrs the dog coughs up the offending matter, and all becomes apparent. Just saying a scenario such as that could explain.
