  1. Well they wouldn't be doing it if there was some serious yield at stake. Money is probably coming from the advertising budget.
  2. Yes they obviously know they are going to get it all back in the end anyway and it does not really concern them how much they give them.
  3. Like I said TAB would be laughing all the way to the bank. Last year the track ran the same and the first few races all leader biased. Why would you be backing runners drawn wide or off long handicaps. Just madness.
  4. Good horse but the manners and driver put me right off.
  5. TAB might be rubbing their hands together with $75,000 of BGP money coming their way. The selectors are big on Muscle Mountain but I am not so confident knowing that track and his wide draw. The leaders will run their last 800 in around 56 secs and if he has to work to get into the race then could be impossible to win that race coming wide.
  6. Whale on box seat "I spent three and a half hours last night going through Callmethebreeze's last five starts and Arcee Phoenix form around his home track" FFS I did the last 10 starts for the whole field for the trot and pacing race when the draws came out and it only took about an hour. 🤣🤣🤣 I am sure I saw Michael Guerin roll his eyes at some point when whale was waffling on.
  7. A fair percentage of the Friday night and weekend tote pools would be pub drinkers having a bet. New graphics and no place dividends would have be having an impact. To what degree hard to tell, but definitely a turn off for many.
  8. Usually only need about 30 seconds before you spot one of those!
  9. Yes it does but it never stopped the TAB ignoring such feedback and ploughing on regardless when they made changes to theirs.
  10. I am saying they didn't do any research and just used an off the shelf graphics package already in commission somewhere else and changed the logo and colour
  11. You would probably be wrong. The graphics look very similar to the ones used on Aussie racing channnels. If anything it is a copy of something entain has going in one of their other jurisdictions with different colours
  12. I am also missing the pools amount information that used to be on the old graphics.
  13. Yes he does. Has to be paying at least $3 for brodie to get interested. $5 gets his wheels spinning
  14. Yes they do make some bloody strange decisions. I wonder if they actually do research or surveys into what the punter actually wants or does some bloke just come up with these ridiculous ideas off the top of his head and thinks he knows best. Apparently there was no consultation with punters on the design or user friendliness of the useless TAB website we ended up with, and it was just done by people who thought they knew best.
  15. This is great entertainment. Entain can you lower the AML to $100 and bring in more mile racing! That would just about end it for Brodie. His head would explode.
  16. It is not hard to hoodwink the stipes at all. Well done to J Cox, that is pretty much what I would have said as well.
  17. I doubt we will ever see race by race fixed pools information freely given out. Why? Well several reasons come to mind. 1. They would want to keep a competitive advantage on competition and disclosing this information could reveal certain things they want to keep in house. 2. Disclosing information on fixed odds pools could affect public perception and confidence in their operations. They would not want Brodie kicking up a stink if he was denied a bet and there was $1million dollars in the pool. 3. Giving out details about the amounts wagered in fixed odds pools could potentially impact their risk management strategies. There would many more reasons but these would be the main ones I reckon.
  18. With J Cox you never know what you are going to get. A superb drive or a shocker. Could go either way.
  19. The TAB should never had got into the state it was in. Bloated salaries and top heavy management became the norm and when the NZ Post mob came in it was all downhill from there.
  20. Not much of a positive if Entain will not let you bet on them.
  21. It is not always about who has the best product. Tabcorp probably would have also been the best partner for the upgrade of the TAB website back in 2019 but for reasons unknown the TAB decided to pay an obscene amount of money to SG Digital's OpenBet to give them the contract. Glen Saville the ex TAB betting manager and one of the main instigators of getting SG Digital's OpenBet platform across the line is now working for SG Digital in a nice juicy role in Las Vegas.
  22. Entain is coming up on a year of running the TAB on 1st June 2024. Nothing much has changed. In fact I would argue things have gotten worse for the punter. The website is still shit with breakdowns on the busiest days. We have lost two iconic types of bets in the place six and pick six. Tote pools are getting smaller. On the 1st June 2025 thats when things will really get bad as I think quite a few of the physical TAB's and pub machines will be given their marching orders and betting restrictions will really start to kick in for anyone that is deemed a slight risk to their bottom line. Despite Entain bosses saying things will be rosy in the years to come I can not see it getting any better for the punter.
  23. Clear to everyone except the useless mob at the TAB. It was a no brainer that TABCORP would have been the best pic.
  24. Pandaia was never going to beat Princess Meritaten
  25. I refuse to bet with no information as do a lot of others by the look of the pool sizes today.
