  1. Think I spotted the problem.
  2. 5mm of rain today in Methven. Think there is 7mm forecast for Wednesday it's off again.
  3. Nice
  4. Any luck with a replacement date yet Nigel?
  5. I would suggest they didn't want to risk damaging the track more than anything else. If the track can't handle less than an inch of rain over a week then it is in trouble and any future meetings are in doubt with any rain forecast on the day or in the days before.
  6. More like sleety showers early this morning but hardly any rain and track good enough to run on. Lets call it off anyway because we don't want to even risk damaging the track might be a better description.
  7. FFS they have only had 20mm of rain yesterday and bugger all today. Getting worse than the gallopers with all these abandonments.
  8. Pussies! Ran in mud up the knees in my day. Fine day forecast as well from midday.
  9. Hopefully! Nothing better than seeing a good old fashioned setup sneak under everyone's radar.
  10. The pools at Methven tomorrow will be nowhere near as good as a Sunday meeting and the mile racing will kill the interest as well. Bring on Cup day for those good fields and big pools.
  11. I wondered why Matthew Williamson didn't come off the fence at the 800m and then got shuffled back to last on Lime In A Bottle when he labeled it his best bet of the day. When his other horse in the race won like a $2.00 favourite and paid $20 I realised why. Well played sir.
  12. That was quick fixed now!
  13. The HRNZ website is becoming almost as buggy as the TAB! I can not even open up the fields for Winton today for some reason. Anyone else got the same problem?
  14. How about the Methven mile day? Should be right up your alley Brodie 😂
  15. Even the finishes were panned in too close to the leaders and not the usual panned out view where you could see the whole field down the straight. Are they trying to get people back to the track by not showing the horses people have backed at the finish? Or maybe stopping whale from clocking the horses that finish further back than the first half dozen. Pretty hard to clock a horses times if you can not see them finish. They tried this zooming in thing years ago and failed dismally when the night they tried it at Addington, Franco Enforce came right down the outside of the track to win the main race and the only time you saw him in the finish was about 20m out from the post and you only saw his head. The TAB publicly apologized in the Harness Weekly after someone wrote a damming letter. I didn't like the drone view either. Just give us the normal action and stop fucking around trying to make the races look more interesting. I would concentrate on getting your useless website fixed to increase turnover before tinkering with camera angles that don't work and never will.
  16. J Dunn jumping off his own horse in Race 7 to drive A Fine Patrick. Is that a good push for that runner? Bookies had it short early.
  17. Not really! Harness racing in the North will just vacate to the south if Alex Park goes under. North Island harness racing has been terrible since they got rid of regular Manawatu meetings and all the grass track meetings. Cambridge and Auckland week after week is boring as f@#k! James Stormont moved South recently. Telfer already has a barn here. Barry Purdon, Tony Herlihy, and maybe another half dozen trainers keep the fields topped up at Auckland and if another three or four of them pulled the pin it would be all over anyway. Sounds like Alexandra Park has been badly managed from the beginning of the new development.
  18. They probably only wanting place money anyway at this stage but that horse is good enough to win a couple with a bit more experience.
  19. Been there done that
  20. At least have the hood off ready to go if there is a gap, not the other way around. A second lost is quite often the difference between winning and losing or in this case the difference between a gap closing and being in the gap.
  21. Horse needs one run at them for best results but yes would have gone close if she moved earlier. I thought Kerry Hadfield's drive on Portelli was the worst drive of the bets I had today. I hate it when drivers take the length of the straight to pull airplugs or hoods or whatever and then the gap they should have been in has closed because of their snail like movements. At least he got up for third. I would have been spitting if he ran fourth. Trifecta paid unders in that race I thought. I was hoping for 3K
  22. I would assume so.
  23. Yes it is working now but you know what.
  24. Having this image as a placeholder while you can not actually get in the game is another good example of the special qualities of the marketing team.
  25. TAB have had no communication about the website issues on social media but had the audacity to post superlatives about Don't Stop Dreaming winning at Addington on twitter. The post got absolutely hammered so they deleted it straight away. Their marketing team reading the room is just about as bad as their tech team is fixing the website issues.
