  1. Grass tracks always much better racing. Better odds, bigger fields, one stable does not dominate, even the top drivers can not control the races on grass from the front. In saying that the higher graded races still lacking horse flesh even on grass. Geraldine Cup only 8 runners. Methven green mile only 6.
  2. I would say they are just baiting you. Looks like it worked. Don't take the bait!
  3. She has had plenty of breaks. Just needs some time off.?
  4. Or giving him a job! I could be getting triple odds. Princess Tiffany could be at $4.00 tonight if Brodie was the bookie. Those $5.00 place outsiders would be kept pretty short though!
  5. Not very often you can get a good opening price on an Orange driven runner. Same with Dexter when he was still here. Their opening odds are always half what they would be with anyone else driving them.
  6. Can we get Brodie a job as a TAB bookie. Would have cleaned up as he would have opened that one at $50 ?
  7. Does seem strange
  8. Go faster juice?
  9. I agree if there is a contract type arrangement then that would be pretty cut and driedand they will do time for sure, but if it is just driver Z saying he does not think his horse can finish in the first four (even if it is favourite) then the lawyers will cite any number of TV statements of drivers saying similar things. Like I said in an earlier post we can only wait for the evidence to present itself. All other assumptions from both sides are pointless until then .
  10. That is the problem. Money is lost by punters in every race. If driver Z makes a statement on TV he is going forward at the start and then goes back instead, then by your definition that could be a fix because someone lost money. Proving there is a fix and not just a driver saying what they think will happen is going to be the difficult part. I think the police will find this out the hard way.
  11. For once I agree with Brodie. Going to hard to prove unless there is thousands of dollars being made behind the scenes we do not know about matched up with phone conversations. Can only wait for the evidence to present itself. All other assumptions from both sides are pointless until then .
  12. I will be shocked if even half the charges get over the line
  13. yep heard that last week there were more on the way
  14. Would be appropriate if the club converted the January all weather meeting to grass to compensate this weekends switch.
  15. http://www.harnesslink.com/New-Zealand/Media-advisory---track-change-for-Oamaru-Saturday-1-December Picking the field sizes on Saturday will not be as big as they would have been on grass.
  16. I agree with Highland Reign and I like Nancy's Boy in the wet. My only concern would be whether they will cancel the raceday like they usually do out there. They are always keen to push the no race button at Motukarara if there is even a slight hint of any moisture arriving during the day. It was heavy at Geraldine today but still a great day of racing.
  17. Done by various people and not just Mr Fitzgerald from what I have heard.
  18. deserves to be knighted!!!
  19. Yep thanks for that Jamie. 5K collect solely due to the impressive work lifting the horse over the line with a bit of encouragement. Would have got nothing if any other limp wristed driver was on. I owe you a beer
  20. Both had to work too hard in the running
  21. If I was in her position and had the choice of either winning around 40K or paying a possible fine around $1000 and copping a few days off as the worst penalty then I know which one I would be choosing and you would have to be a bordering on possible insanity to see otherwise.
  22. Always the best betting fields during cup week. I like Twilight Saga in the race immediately after Ghostwriter also at $7.00
  23. Think they are suspended from Saturday meaning they will probably be driving on Friday
