I thought all 3 of the options in the email were musts rather than just picking one.

Someone I know who is heavily restricted got $4000 on an option yesterday by being a bit smart about how the put the bet on.

Not defending there poor product or poor service but I wouldn’t actually think tab outlets are that viable without pokies these days.

No doubt it will help but it’s hard to see it being the saviour, most of the options will all ready be available offshore. If they do scrap the racing board it could be a great waste of money.

In fairness to them they may not have been online.

Think BYO is a bit beyond there control but agree with your points. One of my frustrations is the time between races when your on course and lack of anything at all happening.

I have one Newmarket, I use it a bit but again I find the cost of withdrawing a bit of a pain.

It’s just racing hospitality in general that’s lacking isn’t it? I haven’t been to Trentham in over 5 years because of something similar.

I thought if you invest you are sanctioned with restrictions that even the great Brodie can’t get around.

They would be a liability until the point they are no longer a liability (the time when the ticket expired). I guess when they are entered in they would go against dividends paid/ winnings paid out and unclaimed dividends/ winnings. Then when the time expires they would be reversed as you need to take the liability out of the balance sheet. If that makes sense?

Interesting when prior to the last election the nz first racing spokes person was calling for the bill to be passed under urgency and also spoke about how it’s great that race tracks are used by communities for things outside of racing and how important they are for communities.

You are right on one thing it won’t be Paula Bennett. In terms of who’s lurking in the ranks, if labour lose the next election then Arden would have had two cracks at it and lost both on Election Day and need to go. Then who would they chose? They have literally no one with any cut through or public appeal.

I believe Brodie has written at length about the horse in question having not won a race at Alexandra Park in about 75 starts there.

I would have though the roll of encouraging participation would fall to Harness Racing New Zealand rather than Fairfax’s racing journalist. The reason someone from a media organisation would want to write a story on it is there is public interest in the matter.

I think you are comparing apples and oranges Brodie. The general public has a reasonable understanding of murder but probably not so much of how you would fix a harness race (if indeed anyone has fixed a race).

How does that work?

I would have though if the riu found evidence of criminal activity then they would be required to report it to the police for them to investigate and make a decision on the next course of action. Also I wouldn’t have thought the riu could investigate a non licenced person either if there were any involved Seems to me from some of your posts that you have an axe to grinde with the riu which may or may not be justified but I don’t think you can fault them for passing the investigation over to the police.
