Most haven't got any .

Gamma , the overall standard in NZ is very poor , from top to bottom , only Bosson and a few others are even half decent . Next time you are watching have a look at some of these young apprentices , very poor balance and most shit them selves if they have to use the stick , it's like get the stick on the horse and get their hands back on the reins as fast as possible , they are all over the place because their balance is so poor . They only have to have something like 15 trial rides before they can go to the races , i could be wrong it might be more but not by much , but i know most are getting to race day far too soon . It's like watching dodgems some days , and don't get me started on tactical awareness .

Nothing in the stipes report regarding Weatherleys riding so i assume they thought no one was at fault . I see he done something similar in R4 , pushing out when not clear , on his fathers horse which went on to win , got 5 days , didn't learn from it it seems . Heart goes out to the young fella and his family , just following his dream and this happens , really unfair .
-
I totally agree , but the trouble in the last was caused by an experienced jockey who as ridden in Sydney .
-
Just another day at the office . It was a decent bump , and the fall look nasty , Yanagida got a fair bashing , hope he's all right . Long holiday for Weatherly .
-
Considering how small our turnovers are in comparison some would be mistaken for thinking all our meetings were non TAB meetings .
-
Certainly save K T Myers the expense of travelling , although CJC should be stumping up for his travelling costs as not Myers no Nationals .
-
The whole set up is quite frankly staggering , envy doesn't even start to cover my feelings . But fair due NZTR have made some announcements in the last few days regarding stake increases . For a couple of races on the Cambridge A/W . We're not that far behind , are we ?
-
Yeah that one , just plain hopeless .
-
Hope all is well , poor bugger has really pissed the gods off somewhere , can't catch a break .

I do wonder how much of an effect having one of the days on the A/W in terms of northern horses going down has had , if a horse wants to run on grass twice has to stay over a week , all extra costs . Only 4 horses from north of Taupo nom'd , that says it all for me , northern trainers aren't interested in travelling that far anymore , even less when the Ellerslie is up and running and those big stakes start on a regular basis . Next target is the cup meeting , it was pretty average last year and i suspect it won't be any better this year . The noise will keep getting louder for the Gns to be moved north in the next few years , the power base is up there and they don't want to travel unless it's Aus . I would have thought that after 2+ weeks without racing in the CD that the Hawera nom's would be spilling over but nah , a lot lighter than expected , but as i keep saying the CD is struggling for numbers .
-
Well Mills and NZTR should be paying all expenses for one K T Myers , 16 horses nom's across 3 races and 12 trained by Myers . Scary , and only 3 other trainers with jumpers at the meeting . Absolutely none from the north of the NI . If ever there was a window into the future of jumping in NZ this is it .

But that is NZ racing , we just keep following pretty much the same pattern , when our quality and quantity of horses has fallen away . Our whole racing pattern needs an complete overhaul along with the ratings system , work with what we have not what we were .
-
Don't want to go giving options that you don't want to follow thru on .
-
Do you notice the only person not concerned about that being a reality , for no other reason that they don't understand the implications , is Mills himself . What are the chances that they run 2/3 races on Saturday and turn around and say the track is unusable , so options are can the rest or race on the A/W .
-
Mate they never think about whether people think have cocked up , too conceited for that .
-
It's a sad state of affairs , going to be interesting to see the numbers and how many NI's flat horses actually travel south . Used to be an absolute standout week , another one shot to shit .
-
Fuck me , you can be obtuse sometimes , read my previous post . SA started the knocking , we only asked for some insight into what might be going on . This is my last word on this with you .
-
This was my first post to him , no knocking there .
-
No , it's already a bare bones operation so not going to take much to get it up to scratch .
-
I'm going to take over BOAY and kick you out , not giving any more info than that , now is that positive talk or just me blow harding .

My understanding is that they called a SGM earlier but that was canned and set for a later date , i assume it was too rushed and those against needed time to gather they're forces to fight it . I'm not completely sure of the actual facts of the situation , whether the LRC president and vp approached Race or Race made the initial contact is depending where you stand . I have been here , Race made this approach 20+ years ago , a SGM was called for what was termed a friendly discussion and fact giving meeting , was anything but , walking into the room the whole Race committee was sitting across the front of the room and Guy Sargent and another NZTR cronie were there also , quite intimidating when that was not what members were expecting . The initial talk and information period was friendly enough but when it Race couldn't make a commitment that the track wouldn't be sold and members started getting up and speaking and making it clear it wasn't a goer the room turned decidedly frosty and the friendly discussion turned quite hostile . Sargent making veiled threats about the future of the club if they didn't get on board . The then LRC president and the majority of the committee who were for it were not happy , but it forced members into action and at new elections a new committee were elected in . The thing is in the intervening years LRC has given up 3/4 racedays , used to have 7 , gave up their G1 race to Race which now run it at Trentham , mostly because of threats by NZTR which IMO LRC should have fought harder , to the stage where the club is a shadow of it's old self , but not alone there , most of the smaller clubs in NZ are in the same position because they have been slowly strangled by they own parent body . Levin is still in a comfortable financial position , sold land for a retirement village and get an annual annuity from that , built new tie ups over on the track side of the road along with new parking , that leaves a parcel of land where the old tie ups were that can also be sold to developers . Levin has a place in the CD structure , A/W or not trainers want grass tracks to educate their horses on and the Levin track fills that . IMO it is short sighted of the industry to let it go , but when moola is involved , especially the amounts that i was told , then common sense and greed over rule all common sense . We are all discussing this from the disadvantage of not enough information , perhaps if SA could have given us a little more light at to what is going on we would have a better understanding of the situation , you never know someone might have some knowledge to impart that could help their fight . Where does this end , more than likely as you say , the parent body beating up the club and taking it . If this is the way of NZ racing it is a sad indictment on where NZ racing has found itself . very sad indeed .

Well i see that New Plymouth has had their lease extended by 30 years and the ability to extend again after that period . But yes mad to hang your washing on such a flimsy line .

Still can't get on the right page . Only one of us has to harden up . The facts : The newbie turned up blowing hard about saving Levin , that's not positivity , they gave no info to back up the comments , so that's just makes it big talk . : We didn't put the boot in , we defended ourselves to his belittling our input into the industry . If anybody was putting the boot in it was your newbie . : Perhaps they are trying to save Levin , we don't know that because they have given us no substance to back their claim . I've been there where they are , done exactly that , so if they are i know what they are attempting and i applaud them for it . : We weren't talking about it's demise , we were discussing the information that i had been given and the pros and cons of it and the wider implications , the nature of a forum . : Still waiting for your neutrality as moderator to kick and inform the newbie that they were out of order as well , coming onto the forum and taking pot shots at posters for no good reason other than their own big noting is not the way to begin , and perhaps give some substance to their claims that they are the savior of LRC . : As per usual your arguing the points that suit your narrative , nothing new there .

Beautiful KITK , great way to ease tensions .
