  1. Woodville never dries out in the winter , it lives under a tap . My mum lived in Pahiatua for a couple of years but gave up and left saying it never stopped bloody raining , and she came from Scotland .
  2. That would be a bit friggen macabre . Many of us care , just not the ones who can change things .
  3. As ever they need the fish to be slapping their faces before they react .
  4. What have i told you , my nose hurts from having it rubbed in the sh#t .
  5. Woodville tomorrow - Non Event ,,,, gone , too wet .
  6. Maybe they could get the same Kings Council that done the Uffindel investigation for National so that they can guarantee getting the result they want .
  7. Christ don't want all the riff raff having a say .
  8. The fields were bloody awful , certainly didn't justify the 150k , 2 30k hurdles tomorrow at Woodville , both piss poor . People can't complain about the stakes , they get looked after better than most with stakes and dividing fields to give everybody a run when necessary . I think it is just a part of racing that is on the decline and just a matter of time till it becomes defunct .
  9. No way the jumping survives more than another year , if things are as bad again then gone . Not even sure jumping has a future here anymore looking at the fields for the GN races last weekend . Next will be the Guineas races , for no other reason the fields are made up of northerners and they don't want to travel that far with their top 3yo's anymore , and it makes sense . And when Ellerslie gets back up and running they will be all over wanting these races at Ellerslie . CENTRALISATION !!! To north of Taupo anyway .
  10. This could be your final warning , cut it the fuck out , i don't need this shit . You don't want to see me angry Mr Bloggs .
  11. Now your second part of that comment has me questioning your smarts .
  12. And no doubt they would do it if they had to , but , the Northern trainers made it clear they wanted grass track trials in the local area , didn't want to track all the way to Ruakaka for a grass track and didn't want to trial young ones on the A/W , so they put on trials at Tauranga . I think they have done a lot of work at Te Awamutu to fix the track to get it back to racing standard , they have had jumpouts and now trials next week , will they get a raceday ? the big question .
  13. OK i will come back to this little tet a tet in a couple of months , i'm sure it will still be going .
  14. It's Ok , it's taxpayers money so who cares . Could build 100+ state built houses . They will be waiting for the Te Awamutu trials next week , the northern trainers made it clear when they forced them to put on the Tauranga trials a couple of weeks ago , because trainers wanted grass track trials . The question is whether the powers take this on board . I see that the Foxton trials have been xfer'd to the Palmy A/W , 22 heats , be interesting to see what the numbers are like in 12 months . Could be the same because of fewer opportunities to trial , or maybe the Levin J/O's will get a massive boost .
  15. Haha , you should have heard my wife trying to pronounce some of the names of small towns in Scotland when we were there 3 years ago , bloody funny .
  16. You wouldn't have thought so the way the business sector is kicking off , apparently that one extra day is going to bust their yearly profit margin . I'm no royalist , i'm Scottish , i've got more reason than most to have animosity towards the English , and i have , but have some fucken respect . After that bring on Scottish independence .
  17. I would think you could say that about most people in first world countries , we don't know how well off most of us are , but we can't help but moan and whinge about every little thing that doesn't work for us in our entitled lives . People should be grateful for what they have and be more grateful that fate didn't put us in the slums of somewhere in like Calcutta .
  18. Like babes mate , no care no responsibility , easy .
  19. I've told you before about this shite , you're just a big noting p@#ck . We have nothing to fight back with so please refrain from rubbing our noses in it .
  20. Well having a shield game and a G1 raceday on the same day suggests no one in either sport has a clue , maybe some bright spark could have thought why not try and make it a package deal so people could go to both , sounds almost like a half decent weekend then . Why am i even suggesting it , both sports are clueless .
  21. Been like this for years now Joe , same at most of the big days now .
  22. You already know , the worldly gentleman that you are . But was thinking more the region it lives on .
  23. Now Huey , TM is feeling the heat and is a bit aggrieved on channel X at a number of people having a dig at him , can we douse this fire a bit for the poor little merkin .
  24. Read that this morning Joe , if ever there was an example of why NZ racing is in the shit it is , it is this type of attitude , all is well if you just keep saying positive affirmations , if you don't look then you never know how bad things are going . I have had my share of words with Tasman Man , and i'm sure he's on some PR payroll , he has become the voice of positive reason on channel X , anybody says anything like a negative critique of NZ racing he comes on with a belittling diatribe of positivity extolling the virtues of NZ racing , like it's not in hole . His dig at Pam being a battler with nothing but negativity about NZ racing shows how little he understands NZ racing , it has been made up of battlers for decades , it's the battlers that have kept racing going , but we are now seeing the demise of this racing sector , and it is funny how the demise of NZ racing can be aligned with the continuing marginalization and hence loss of these coalface participants . The numbers of owner trainers and small permit to train trainers are but a shadow of what they used to be , 20 or so years ago i counted in the calendar something like 700+ people that held these licences , count them now , be lucky if it was a third of that number . But hey all is sweet and smelling of honey in NZ racing , is that positive enough .
  25. Forward planning and NZTR , oxymoron .
