  1. Is this bloke's initials AR by chance?
  2. Pray tell?
  3. Well ones bred for milk, calves and meat, the other for sport, heavy lifting and gambling.....oh and in some countries, meat.....funny that. In a first world country if you breed for human greed and entertainment, such as gambling, humanity and humility should kick in, but human nature is very fragile and conscience unmentionable, so there you go. The treatment of bobby calves in NZ made mainstream media here, peak hour news, the video matched that of the disgusting horse treatment at a QLD so called abattoir, that turned out to be a dungeon of horrors.....humans, what a flawed and evil species we are, all of us a flawed in some way, but only a minority are evil......
  4. You should be in charge at Petone, you'd probably turn them down, even with a 6 figure salary, couldn't blame you in all reality. Great post.
  5. If there's an afterlife, can't you just see the lovely horses waiting with a stock whip and/or jigger for their cruel earth masters? can ya?..........there'd be a long queue I'm betting.
  6. What a bunch of fucking hypocrites, we witnessed some despicable behaviour by licensed persons during our tenure there, here too, but not to the same degree, what did those cretans do? nada, zilch, and while Mary Burgess has no connection with that I find the hypocrisy of NZTR disgusting.....they knew about it alright, .....
  7. Then again, it's all down to selling to Asia, and what that brings......good and bad.
  8. Hell hasn't Anton kicked a goal or two, and the young bloke Ollie, if they'd stayed, doubt they would have kicked those goals.....
  9. Great post, honest..heart on sleeve, good onya......I think you might be a little young to remember George Walton? he came from down your way, I rode work for him at Canterbury in SYD back in 72/3 just can't recall, but he was on his way to the USA with one.....he told me, ''always love your horses, even when you pat them good bye'' he was hard bugger, but he had that softness that stands a gentleman apart, as did Angus Armanasco, another hard man with a soft heart, he wouldn't sell me a horse I approached him for, the horse was only average and would have won plenty up in KL, but Gus was adamant,,,,,I asked him a few years later why he wouldn't let him go......''it was his eyes'' he said,'' he wouldn't have forgiven me''.....I never forgot that, .....special......
  10. I don't 'blame' them either NM, but they shouldn't have to, thats what I'm eluding to. I'm very biased you see, I was training up in KL back in the early 80's, albeit under another blokes name, a leading trainer that was unofficially retired so to speak....KSL......I sent a number of horses up there when the circuit was in op, SNG,KL,Penang, Ipoh........the treatment of the horses was abysmal, the majority were fed to the lions in the zoo once they couldn't run fast enough, it made me sick, I swore then, never ever again would I send one to ASIA.........HK now has a repat clause, but for years they didn't, so many greedy and or needy people knowingly sent their horses to a horrible end, knowing full well what awaited them......in general it hasn't changed up in SIN and especially Malaysia, whilst I don't blame people for selling NM, I worry about the future of the KIWI studbook, and Oz too, but not on the same scale as NZ......it's been demeaned by greed, filthy dirty lucre and so many of the new breed of bloodstock agent is right in on it.......they don't give a cuss where the horses end up, would you like to know one of yours ended up in China, many went up to Mongolia, a few Kiwi's went up there to help promote the joint, it sickens me........the thoroughbred is the victim of so many cruel, greedy and right proper arseholes that fill them with cobalt at toxic levels, synthetic EPO, and so many other illicit and illegal substances, but I'm fighting a losing battle and acknowledge I'm a voice in the wilderness........there are many owners and trainers with ethics, but too few breeders NM......as Ned Kelly said to the the hangman....''such is life''.
  11. Anyone provide an acceptable answer to why there are 30 trials today? When I was a kid riding out at 15 we had only the odd 'Matinee' as we called them then, few and far between, would that be because the blokes and ladies training back then could get their horses ready without these things? The bloke I was apprenticed to could get horse to win first up, first starters all educated and ran well......oh, we only had racing twice a week back then too, what gives? are they trying to win a trial to sell to Asia do you think? or do they need to see what they can do as it's too dark in the mornings or their track riders are keeping secrets from them?.......love to know, do tell.
  12. And, Bernie Tawdry will be back in Oz dining out on the salary package he was paid during his time in NZ galloping his horses everyday..........you reap what you sow, could have been a bumper crop, instead look at what you've got, a record of poor performers that managed to hide within an industry that self destructed while the cartel watched on, living off investments earned from the non taxable sales to Asia, the GST rebates, favourable bloodstock write-offs, provided by their embedded delegate WP.........etc, etc. As Freda said, just sad, but could have been so very different, #titanicwahineRITA
  13. The barrier trial form seems to be struggling, the2yo today at Te Rapa? The winner of a trial by daylight shot duck at the furlong, I could be wrong but it appears the impressive Snitz colt didn't bother with the 10mil white elephant, he's a young man going places me thinks.
  14. Gee the bloodsuckers, sorry, bloodstock agents, must be rushing the connections of those horses with amazing offers? off to HK soon as eh?
  15. Who died and made Chittick God? it appears that fellow has a lot to answer for.
  16. Hell, I've never ever seen times like that in trials, even here. Ive seen them run 57 at Doomben and E Farm, but they were WFA horses, any jockey who lets a trialer run 1-07 needs sectioning, and a trainer that condones that needs same, not to mention a curator that turns a track out like that, is shit for brains mandatory? it must be.
  17. Yep, we all knew, no secret, BDL is only formalising this. Whats missing is the forensic investigation, then if applicable, legal action, if not criminal. You can't go to jail for stupidity, mores the pity, and god alone knows stupidity and fuckwitsm is alive and well in Petone, still. However the fact remains, if the TAB traded as insolvent, thats criminal, and if there is any impropriety with the running of NZRB/TR then retrospective charges should be laid.......surely?
  18. Re your first paragraph, over here in the real world we pay back to 10th in most states, some 8th, in the bush bush only back to 4th, but hey, it works, if you run 15th of 15, do you really think you should be paid the starters incentive? I say no, 10th is plenty, but over here in every instance the jocks fee is paid, so out of pocket exes are minimal...Saundry is a grandstander, how he's even there doesn't say much for NZ racing, , as you say he's a bullshit artist, when they go cap in hand back to Jacinda it will come down like the pack of cards it is......they run picnic racing here far better, Hang on, I forgot to gallop mine this morning, best I get out and do it, .........
  19. It's an animal welfare issue, someone needs their arse kicked, but the watchdogs are arse lickers not kickers! #nointegrity.
  20. You have to be kidding, did they have to move them for any reason? or is it just plan incompetence?
  21. Maybe it wasn't firm enough for the puppets horse today damn it.
  22. Sounds awfully like Bernie is making it up as it rolls along.
  23. How's your blokes shins? Maybe the glove puppet will come up with a beauty over this joke, was there a howling tail wind? the dog leg must be 20lgth quicker than the course proper.
  24. Weren't they great days? I remember David Reed ringing me to say back Palley one day over there, won by 5 or 6 if I remember, if we could only turn the clock back, I'd swap anytime, great jockeys, great trainers and great admin, what the fuck happened.
  25. Ive just broken a rib laughing, Marx Bros and Keystone cops have got nothing on this mob.....Cor Blimey, God Help Us.
