  1. Perfect ! Mach Shard and Star Gallaria 1st and 2nd easily . Balraj (could of stayed on fence early) and along with 4th stable horse Bright Energy being used as the LEAD OUT TRAIN like a cycling team at the Tour De France !!!!!! Just magic to watch. Carted The 2 NZers into beautifully ! well done Team McCarthy , just as good an exhibition as what the Allstars and Dunns can produce.
  2. hahahaha .... Gammalite quick to point out "Good things come to those who wait" No-one told Tony that in the Derby last night lol....... GOOD Fortune Favours the Brave ? lol............ " All bad fortune is conquered by endurance ? lol..........
  3. There's a good saying that Gammalite lives by too. "Winners Are Grinners" lol
  4. Gammalite

    krug

Tony was playing CONVOY by CWMcCall , a great old tune , to get some motivation for the Derby. with lyrics like "Big Ben this here's a rubber duck , I'm about to put the hammer down" " l" so we crashed the gate do'in ninety-eight and we let that fucker roll .... ten four"
  5. Chief , what happened to the Night racing at this venue ? Auckland a large city so people must go there to enjoy horses? or did the Trainers do the 'sulk' and not go there? Auckland weather mild most of year so should be ok. Moonie Valley , Cranbourne, Canterbury popular Friday nights in Oz. Hard on jockeys I guess? those riding features on Sat would be 'doing it tough' I guess.
  6. Very 'Small' betting on that race.?? I wouldn't touch it with your money. lol... Ben YOLE does that in Tasmania EVERY WEEK, stacks a field with 6-8 runners every week, never a feature race though. Leading Trainer in Australia ??? 44 wins from 500 starters since JAN 1. absolute disgrace. I wrote to Tas harness a few times saying , "What a JOKE' not a hope in the world you could bet on those races. At least ALLSTARS had some rivals they still had to beat? and did it well too !!!!! Do something about it .
  7. stuff the dogs lol, I'm Bleating about a Very relevant topic that I admire fully. There has been lots of criticism about Team driving in NZ harness , and costing poor punters their chance, etc.... I say Rubbish , with Team driving your odds are GREATLY INCREASED of winning . PlanA , PlanB to beat your MAIN OPPONENTS. everybody knows this but won't admit it. So Lets take a look at some NZers Tonight in Race 5 Menangle (A Group 1 FFA worth 100k) wouldn't you think that the 4 McCarthy runners will work it to run the placings??? Star Gallaria, and Mach Shard recently arrived from NZ, all you guys know well, and TURN IT UP driven by the McCarthy Dad.??? so he'll be helping too !!!!! will be great. If they can't beat the OTHER 5 runners with some TEAM DRIVING I'll be 'bleating well disappointed' !!! hahahahaa
  8. What a wonderful Driving exhibition by the 'Teams' last night. Race 2 Addington saw Team Dunn work the race beautifully and run easy Quinella. they had 3 of the 6 runners. Race 10 at Alex Park saw the Team Telfer (five of the 8 runners ) get the FIRST 4 !!by a great tactical display (that saw poor Zac Butcher on their MAIN OPPONENT ,finish Way out the back. !! Amazing! reminds you of the 10/10 exhibition by ALLSTARS in the AUCKLAND CUP on Dec 31st. Perfection at work !! And Contrary to what people say with the Absolute Rubbish about 'Horses not running on their merits.' Team driving HELPS THEM ALL MORE WITH CHANCE of winning than NOT, because of the help you are getting from Stablemates (HUGE ADVANTAGE demonstrated successfully many times by ALLSTARS) AND the inconvenience (and loss) caused to the MAIN OPPONENT in each of these 3 races, by the perfect team co-ordination. !!! excellent NZ teamwork !!! e.g Copy That (AKLD cup) AJWhitesocks (R2 last night Addington) and Captain Nemo R10 Akld last night) Can't wait to see what Team McCarthy can come up with in the $1million Miracle Mile tonight !! (3 of the 8 runners) Exciting stuff !!!
  9. Apologies NOT Maurice , It was ZAC BUTCHER on Captain Nemo that got the Heave Ho, in the death you go , Heave Ho out 3 wide you go .... lalala lol....... poor bugger. Team work at it's best !! fantastic.
  10. Absolutely great tactics by the 5 stable runners in this one . Well played !! Maurice McKendry will be having nightmares ALL week , about this race. lol......... pushed out 3 wide from the death seat no less, a lap out. (very aggressive their AGH you beast, to Help the other Stable-mates !! lol ) Perfect Mr Telfer !! great team driving and First 4 is the result !!! exceptional work .
  11. Gammalite and Davis share the BOAY fixed Cup , with 2 x second place-getters each and 4 points each. (quick phone call to AGH after he won the Derby with KRUG , to make sure Bolt for Brilliance gets beat a nose and Davis doesn't take the BOAY fixed Cup away , has worked fine) THIRD with a win each and 3 Points each: Galah (Copy that), MikeyNZ (Temporale) , Ludwig (Krug) , Ritchie (Special Way), Hunter (Better Twist)
  12. Are you holding back' with your dollar bet? and gunna charge home with a late burst at Auckland for Karrots?
  13. No way Karrots , John Dunn KNEW exactly who was coming around, he's not that stupid. Great driving by him on 2nd horse Race 2 Addington, did everything but win. Please don't worry , I'm being positive here !!! I loved the AUCKLAND CUP drives, from ALLstars, brilliant all round. I loved the DUNN stable drives just then at Addington race 2 , Is first class driving at it's best. Originally From last night I thought Butcher could of helped THE BANKER a bit more, (plus weakened the favourite with a bit of ALLstars/ Dunn type tactics ) but he Still WON the race JUST , so ALL good !!!!!
  14. Exactly !! and just like the great horse Gammalite, sit outside them (or lead if possible) and grind them into the ground , with just an average driver, but even tougher than old boots, (chewed those up for dinner) and WIN anyway .
  15. Yes, but I would argue because of the 'Brilliant' team driving the 2nd Placegetter did everything but beat your selection. Because they looked after each other so well. Either one wins with 50 to go. and you had CLASSIE BRIGADE 'marking' the Whitesox Just in case. But he too seems a shadow of former self.
  16. Just looking at Addington Race 2 , only 6 in it , including 3 DUNN runners. Brilliant display of Stable Driving !!! (they obviously been watching ALLstars) absolute perfection. All three Dunn runners 'looking after' each other. Had the MAIN OPPONENT Whitssox parked in the death, just where they wanted it , Ran 1st and 2nd easily . Group 1 winner battling 4th . Perfect !!! Big stables , lots of runners= HUGE advantage , just as you say (handing up lead and what-not)
  17. I found Allstars to be a major 'Turn-on' as a punter heheheh, ALWAYS, any race, I got a run for my money. In fact I could say thousands in front on punting Allstars, Sweet F all off the other NZ stables , lol...... Here's a big stable Karrots , in the last tonight. Surely You, and The Galah and everyone else would expect Steve TELFER with 5 runners , to work a plan in this race of tactics to defeat the other 3 runners.?????? Or is it 'Go and do your best and play for luck. hahaha He has the first 3 favoured runners , so SURELY should be able to do a little ALLstars magic ?? or Captain Nemo leads and wins?? Gammalite says Number 1 with Herlihy , lead at all costs !!!! hahaha lol.. If Captain Nemo leads he could win? Gammalite says if Captain Nemo has the pace to lead, one of the other 4 Telfers needs to 'take him on' lol...... everyone still trying to win with these tactics , BUT making it harder for the MAIN OPPONENT to do so ???? 776217 Sing To Me 3 f R47 1 Ft Tony Herlihy Steve & Amanda Telfer 2 214265 Captain Nemo 3 c R48 2 Ft Zachary Butcher Ray Green 3 834277 Happy Place 6 g R51 3 Ft Joshua Dickie Sheryl Wigg 4 21X9 Cloudy Bay 3 f R52 4 Ft Todd Macfarlane Steve & Amanda Telfer 5 265321 Richmond Tiger 4 g R52 5 Ft Andrew Drake(J) Craig Sharpe 6 16X2X Cashlodo Flybye 4 m R53 6 Ft Benjamin Butcher Steve & Amanda Telfer 7 843X41 Cya Art 3 g R54 7 Ft James Stormont Steve & Amanda Telfer 8 012439 Show Me Heaven 3 f R55 8 Ft Brent Mangos Steve & Amanda Telfer
  18. Absolutely and totally an ADVANTAGE to have more than 1 stable runner in a race. (sad for you maybe) NOT sad for the stable though, See if you can watch replay of Group 1 AUCKLAND CUP Dec31. Brilliance !!! Main opponent flushed out into the 'death seat' and all !!, (so Copy That only got 3rd after tough run) fantastic. AND all the Stable runners DID run on their own merits (as in having every chance to win ) Perfection at it's absolute Ultimate Peak!! on display for us to All admire and Behold. (great for punters too !!)
  19. Goes without saying Karrots , Race tactics are what WIN you races. (as perfected by ALLstars) Of course you can USE your stablemate , (as well as any other runner) to enhance your chances in the race. Because you KNOW what they are 'Likely to do" . That helps you as much as them. It's ONLY natural that , If you are going to get Beaten in a race, it would be GREAT if it was the stablemate. You aren't driving for 'opposition' stables to win. EXAMPLE If David Butcher gave up the lead in R6 last night, to his stablemate, I predict he would of won MUCH easier than he did. PLUS his stablemate would of had 'more chance' than death sitting as well. A good thing?? As it was the main opponent (FAV) had a great trip (PULLtheOtherLEG) and nearly blew them both away. By letting Stablemate take lead, (something you wouldn't of let the FAV have) you would of been 'Using It' to beat the Favourite . Fav would of been death seating instead and it's chances GREATLY REDUCED. a good thing ?? FAIR PLAY it is!!!!! , to try and beat the main opponent , AND look after your stablemate same time. excellent !! ??
  20. @ 2 coffees so far today lol..... !! heheh definitely yes ! to your questions there Karrots !! Us your stablemate to beat the favourite if you can ! for sure ! The tactics used nearly resulted in being 2nd and 3rd for Donnelly only.(held by a nose only) My tactics , an easy Donnelly Quinella , not sure what order, But the Fav that got second would of been struggling. All's Fair in Love and War. lol....... congrats to winner though , JUST did enough.
  21. Incorrect Karrots !!! lol, being cheeky I would say if Butcher in front gave the lead to stablemate The Banker , when it circled field , they run First and second for sure IMO. That Would of left the favourite (Pull the otherLeg), 'parked out' for Lap and a 1/2 and it would of battled into third , (instead of nearly winning the race ,and it would of in one more stride after getting 1-1 trail) lol........... ALLSTARS would of run first and second with those Donnelly runners for sure and certain?? lol..... Butcher got lucky and held on the photo by a snotter, What a Fab trainer ARNA DONNELLY is turning into.
  22. That was strange. Lap full of horse 400m out had eased off fence nicely to follow the winner home bend, all excellent so far. Then went back inside it (the 1-1 horse) again??? undid all the good work. got blocked and very lucky to even snatch 3rd. You would only do that if horse very tired. cost himself the win in all probability. You sure a right with saying Punters wouldn't enjoy that sort of thing with a favourite.
  23. Hahaha..... i'm 3 hours behind you all the time !!! hahahaha lucky Not a race with you, as you would Win the race, take the trophy at presentation , take horse home again and tuck it in lol, just as Gammalite gets onto track ,lol.... Sportsbet here is all I have . Better Twist $1.40 only and It's All ABout Faith at $3.20 , so yes just $4.50 is the odds for my bet as you suggested. Looks a good one but !!! hehehehe
  24. Of course I meant the horse Noodlum could join the other horses. as missing a start. I realise now it would seem mean of me as 'some' wouldn't realise you actually are in the comp still. was just for a laugh and fun. honestly wasn't supposed to come across mean spirited. your last 10 years DQ horse list is fine on that thread, shows a section of trainers with errors. some rather lucky not to get DQ too to go along with the horse. (caffiene, etc) Incidently , for those that might not realise Noodlum is MULDOON spelt backwards. The National Party Prime Minister 'Piggy' Robert Muldoon of NZ from 1975 to 1984 (my whole teenhood in NZ co-incidently) Maybe Brodie and some others, have a picture of 'Piggy' on the wall in his kitchen ? as not Labour Fans I'm feeling at times.......
  25. Derby Day !! big Group Racing without ALLSTARS ? quite a sight. Well the Oaks and Derby distance of 2700m will be a bit new and too far for most of them. So with the 'Allstars residue' sure to be trained as stayers , I'm up for a Cullen Oaks -Derby double.!!!! BETTER TWIST and IT'S ALL ABOUT FAITH at about 5-1 for the double.
