I used to pay $700 cash per month to trainers around 2009 and cash for any vets bills as well. I have a share in a horse now that works out to $1600 a month. I hate to think what the brylcreem kid charges?? Hj

I was out rolleston this morning, I can tell you sport is well and truly growing. Cars for Africa in all codes, fields jam packed with players. The facilities out there are First Class. Netball all undercover with brand new buildings. My grandkids play rugby with grand daughter playing netball. anyone should go and see, it's amazing. hj

I don't know many dog trainers, except our bad experience. I've met the laaglands and would have gone there but they have since died. Now I know roughly what it costs I just need to pull the trigger. I'm in Auckland next month so I will check a few out. Thanks. hj

I only know one dog trainer, and I won't be asking him. As you are aware different trainers charge different rates. And as I said I haven't been involved for 20 years. Just a polite question that you obviously don't know?? Hj

Thanks I kinda knew all that, I know the good guys and the charlatans. Just needed a ball park figure. The one I was involved was a syndicate but the trainer was a crook, we had to take the greyhound off him via a race detective. We never saw a cent from the dog. Hj

Some horses prefer the other way round, I had a horse that my trainer said would improve racing akld way round. He was right. I love the variation! Hj

Have to agree about the stipes being hard on south island guys. They seem to like fining the juniors down here as well, as for agh he's a legend. Spoke to him in the craypot about 3years so in kaikoura. Nice guy. Hj
