I suspect that is not the TABs fault, more a aussie ruling, so if a Kiwi is on holiday and cant bet on NZ TAB does that seem fair ?
So if aussie have closed borders and I suspect they may well have, why is it any different for NZ to do same.
Personally I dont support the idea.
One other little thing i have noticed on NZ TAB, the odds on live betting is slightly less than what you get on a overseas site, i suspect thats more to do with the feed they are getting from their supplier.
While lots are critical of the TAB or the website the in play sports setup is actually very good, MLB and the NBA are live, lots of Tennis and Soccer and the reality is they are out to get the maximum amount of betting which is all about one thing , profit which goes back to our sporting bodies.
Closing off aussie bookmakers for racing for kiwis, well thats a different issue. completely.
The real issue here with closing borders is Aussie betting sites and racing, yet sites like Betway, 10 bet, bet365 based in Europe really just do sport and casino games etc etc, woudnt make any sense blocking them as they mostly of no great issue ,its the racing guys who are wanting change.
Simply want all the money bet off shore, no more Sportsbet, Ladbrokes etc etc.
Benefits obvious , not my words, just the general assumption
I suspect lots might pull the pin if it was close border betting
I note the Gore septic tank cleaning service are sponsoring a race on Thursday.
One wonders if they will be donating a 10 litre bucket of shit to the winner.
Gore on friday, probably be snowing, hang on just checked the forecast, fine and sunny for a week, the south gets a bad wrap about its weather, yet it's the North that gets all the rain.
Actually pretty good, had some doubts, I see Robert Dennis has one nominated is he still training?,
Another under the Dennis Bros as well, must be a hard habit to give up.
As I said earlier in this thread, it's going to be interesting to see how many nominate for the Gore Gallops, Friday, strange how they don't want harness racing there but one would think the more a venue is used the better I would have thought.
Good numbers for Saturday,(Winton), maybe the bigger tracks are more appealing, not much choice if you are in the north.
Interesting Winton get Saturday, yet most days are Thursdays , Fridays, thats another anomaly.
