Unhinged, interesting name, you not related to a dunny door are ya?

3zb use to do the afternoon races, during the week you only got the results lots of times, we are actually quite lucky with all the info we have access too,( smartphones) but we are as a society all stuck on technology, not entirely convinced we are a better society though. I use to love sports roundup in the summer, could listen to cricket all day, it informed and entertained, trying to listen to racing on a smartphone to a simulcast, fuckin shit.

Sometimes i can be accused of being negative but on some of your comments i agree. Nice to reflect, i think as we age we are actually in the best position to compare then and now, today its just more and more, but mores not always better. Rugby is no better, go back to 98 when the blues played the crusaders,{and 98 aint that long ago} the country almost ground to a halt for the final, played in the daytime, next week probably almost be forgotten by monday. As for trackside i just watched a few races and im done with it for the day, often only watch if nought better to do, use to like the trackside radio as we all know but i just tune in to other things now, makes one realise there are other things in life, horse racing aint so big for me now, sometimes wall to wall coverage does promote problem gambling but only winners get restricted, losers are most welcome, almost VIPs. The only time the wall to wall coverage is good is late on Saturday with the barrage of world class gallops from oz, late friday or sunday night barrage of dog racing, some might like i guess but ive never been a fan of dog shit. Jason Teaz friday show is ok, cuts out all the crap. Trackside is all about sqweezing every cent they can. One difference was the vhs videos we had werent horse racing.

See the amenities fund is still alive and thriving,,maybe another club might get funding for a new door knob

Hey people I was probably over the top regarding the racing being shit, that's a bit harsh but for the next month or three with the Sunday's at Addington is an indication of what could happen if all the tracks were shut and only a few left, if Timaru and Rangiora were closed then where would they race, variety is the spice of life. Sure it caters for the lower classes but one wonders sometimes if there is a bit of overkill, quantity replacing quality. As I said before the powers that be say the are doing well turnover wise, maybe they are, maybe not.

Are you gunna turn out tomorrow and for the next nine weeks to watch the same old fuckin shit ? Probably not and probably fuck all else will. The people in charge say everything's going well but then as the government says the same I'm not sure if this is for real or just fucking bullshit

Maybe people on the minimum wage or those on a benefit who are interested but cant afford horse ownership could help the racing industry in other ways. Maybe a grant perhaps of $10 000 a week paid in to a TAB account weekly on top of their benefit or a grant if they are working that has to be turned over before the next grant, the only catch is its only on NZ racing except for Australian racing on saturday afternoons after 3 15 pm.

Right now,its early, im in bed, got the radio on zb,, it informs and entertains, i maintain and always will maintain that no radio racing is detrimental, more people would engage with racing, on radio, not every truck driver, farmer, office worker, factory worker etc etc can spend all day watching tv but its gone now, trackside radio, i use to listen to trackside everyday, coudnt be bothered now, ive just moved on in my listening habits, once one disengages , pretty hard to re engage. However, as i stated at the start of the forum, the tennis online is a brilliant concept but this is for four 2 week tournaments, so there is not a saturation of it, racing at least if saturday only could have about 8 or 9 hours of good radio commentary and info, ,[ after all test cricket gets about 7 hours for 5 days] maybe online as well as through senz or maybe some other media, seems simple is simple. We are actually very lucky with the internet, its unlimited really but sometimes we are also spending all our lives on our devices and thats not entirely healthy, its all about balance, for some the internet is a escape from reality, for some it is their reality.

Is Australian racings main funding from betting deductions or from other sources ? -
No one has commented but a big improvement in audio and video, races run on time and some good interviews as well.

Inner Mongolia Rider Horse Industry is no more!

Just to add everything carries on in many areas of industry,if trade stops in one area but in a much different scenario. One wonders what the aussie economy would be like without coal and iron ore. -

Dairy farming should be making hay while the sun shines, never trust those fuckers over there. -
Nice to know I'm not the only one. Wouldn't be hard and wouldn't be costly to satisfy race followers., that saturday afternoon show knocking off at 5 when all the barrage of top racing from oz is just starting is mind boggling.

Hey nomates, you dropped off the radar for a while, was wondering if you were coming back, not that much has changed. I often listen online to sport, football and the tennis, it's interesting the number of e mails they get and read out from around the world and what the people are doing so tv is not a option at the time. I think racing understimates and is doing it self a disservice, at the weekend especially with crap coverage, you know my thoughts about that radio station beginning with s that I listen only to occasionally as a sports station, they are ok, racing dont seem to fit their agenda it seems. The tennis is a world class event, lots of the late saturday racing from oz is too, the TAB need to pull finger on this one,(my thoughts). I believe a online radio station on saturdays and big days seems logical, days like today, who cares. You suggested the TAB simulcast both channels separately, good idea, cant be hard, the present simulcast is shit, radio is to inform and entertain and this industry that relies solely on the gambling dollar needs to engage as many as it can. Just a add on why racing dont have a big prize similar to lotto to engage people at the weekend also baffles me, lots of people I know will buy lotto or powerball tickets in the hope of being lucky,or rich, even I do, fuck all even know where the races are being run, probably except for a certain race from Melbourne in early November. All very fine channeling lots of funds into Trackside TV but audio coverage will engage more followers, a lot I think have been lost, maybe for good. I'm warming more to online radio, still like traditional radio but times change, a balance between both forms cant be that hard to implement, simple really.

Looking at fields one would not see any difference as if was on the grass, just a observation. Wingatui fields ok considering it's now june.

Have a listen to the tennis online from France now and see how online radio works, then listen to racing online from the TAB, chalk and cheese, I've always said the TAB is treating listeners as idiots but we seem to accept mediocrity.

Based on those figures/cost it would be fair to assume that people on the minimum wage may not be getting into horse ownership in the present economic climate.
