“The Whale” is promoted on Trackside as this best analyst kf harness racing in The country! Think this is based on a decade or so ago of picking all the winners at The Jewels day! Maintain that it is a conflict of interest betting for himself, being paid for a tipping service and then tipping horses on Trackside! Does he always back the horses that he tips????? Anyway, if you have the need to pay for what he tips on his tipping line, then go for it, but how many actually do this? Occasionally, he might tip something of value but mostly as chief says, he is just tipping form horses and no value whatsoever! If he was tipping out plenty of winners then the TAB would not want him cleaning the Bookies out! Do I see “The Whale” as the best analyst for harness in NZ and tils worth backing? NAH, far from it, but each to their own!

It depends whether you are a serious punter wanting to make money or you are someone that bets for the fun of it! A serious punter who wants to make money will look at a field and see whether there is something he wants to back! If there is a horse he likes he will compare it to others and look at whether it is worth a go when compared to the risk and odds! What I picked up early on is that most punters dont actually really know what they are doing and that is why they generally dont win consistently. Winning punters are ones that have a bit of ability plus do their homework! This is why the TAB restrict the punters who put effort in! The fact remains that punters are not treated equally and the NZ TAB are acting morally and ethically badly! It is a gambling industry and they should be taking the good with the bad.

Personally think that Matt Anderson has had enough bad publicity, and having harness enthusiasts hammering him again achieves nothing! Look Matt hasn’t acted like a saint but seriously there has been extenuating circumstances from what I know. Ne has suffered majorly from the continued Martin Van Beynon shite, and time to give the fellah a break I wouldve thought! From what I have been told Matt was not born with a golden spoon in his mouth. Personally think he was or is one of the most talented horseman in NZ bearing in mind he hasnt come from a horsey family! Lol no it doesnt eliminate any option, it is just to try and reduce the size of my wallet filling!! The betting vouchers has reduced the amount of cash bets which they are happy to take. However very very difficult to get paid out in cash, and it is not money laundering! Of course it is control if you can not bet or collect $1k without identifying yourself. No HRNZ is not tied to the debt! However you can not run a viable business with the current debt level and lack of interest in the Auckland harness product!

Because they are few and far between! Harness is at a crossroads at the moment and this lockout of the public just does not do it any favours! I go into betting places and there is next to no one else wagering on harness. Without nee punters being attracted to harness and new people entering the industry it is only going to be one way traffic.

Barry Lichter has his finger on the pulse, Chief. The ATC are totally in dire straights financially and are a huge drain on harness racing in NZ! The amount of debt they carry is going to bury them as there is not a lot of positive news that is coming from out of the trenches!
