  1. Wasn't to far away, I thought a good run in a very tidy field to be fair, I took wild Jack in the cup, bit gutted he didn't quite get there, the 126 an 26s fixed price was very appealing, just thought a good draw and good rider was a outside chance, fact he had to get off the rail may have held him up a tad and cost him the win, wasn't much in it still remember his great run when beaten in the timaru cup I think by the I'll fated boots n all.
  2. Anyone's race tracker working, mine not all week or so
  3. Agree, but apparently by law they can't stop them returning, which seems bizarre, latest cases nothing to do with returnees, who knows, had a friend that got hit in the head by a flying bottle of omega 3 capsules the other day, he's ok, just suffering a few super fish oil injuries.
  4. Don't know about sausage rolls, more like cold shoulder.
  5. Shad

    Why?

Good to see some trackwork on there as well
  6. Just a general comment, wasn't totally referring to yesterday, hence the 81s fixed yesterday I got with Regent Street and Tegan Newman.
  7. Claimers on wet winter tracks a big plus for me
  8. Think the shark lacks abit of bite, I was pleased to get 81s an 17s fixed on Regent street today, surprising the fixed odds were so high, but know complaints from me.
  9. Been no gallops for years anyway
  10. My thoughts exactly, surprisingly for most its follow the leader, as we seen who dares wins, no pun,but just seems to me most follow the crowd and those who try otherwise seem to be rewarded, have always struggled to understand their thinking, as we all know the shortest way home, and just how much ground can be saved, and how much is lost by drifting wide.
  11. Congrats super win in a very tidy field,
  12. Anyone got any tips for Friday, I thought maybe silent rapture, drawn wide though or doctor Tim from the ace maybe worth a look.
  13. I remember the amish mafia, they got the job done, and liked horses to.
  14. What a bonnie mare she was, certainly won many of her races, by dominating the opposition, don't think she left any progeny of note.
  15. Has the March racing on the coast been dropped to.
  16. Very sad to hear the Davey Macdonald era has come to an end, regardless what he has or hasn't been paid is not worth the thought, we need to thank him for his 44 years of service and dedication, I for one will miss his race calls from the deep south, but will will have the fond memories of all his calls, but 3 of them special, involving a horse I have part owned, still have them them on my sky, and have relived so many times, also to Jason Teaz, who has also called a couple of winners for me, these guys will be sadly missed, for their race day calling. One of my favourite lines by J Teaz was at a Oamaru gallop meeting, when his comment was, highforty like the boy with the wheelbarrow, he's got the job in front of him, another, like a couple of yachts travelling at two knots on a freezing cold winters day and a bog track at wingatu.,All the best to both, let's hope they are not totally lost to the industry.
  17. Yes he been a very good sire, and sadly missed.
  18. Underrated sire, raise the flag, very well bred himself, only got nine mares for last season, you would think whiterobe would put him to more of their mares, ablaze left nz with 6 wins and 90k in stakes, now the winner of 13 races and at a guess over 500k, bakery hill, riding high, markwood, flying agent all preformed well today, the breed certainly need time and patience, when you look at the flat performers like broadside, civil disobedience, parthesia, etah James and now ablaze, Australia trainers just seem train them better, gives a bit of hope tor a rising 6yr old by the same sire.Great to see them doing well, and sire standing for a modest fee of 6k.
  19. Must be tough for riders waiting for the start of racing, keeping fit and their weight under control.
  20. 1958 nz metropolitan trotting club, Easter meetings book price 1 shilling, races such as Reta Peter handicap won by the top buller trotter Durban Chief, who won 2 dominions, nz trotting stakes won by Au Fait trained by D G Nyhan, also featured the woolson brass band conducted by Mr D S Christensen, also the 1961 inter dominion championships day 4, featuring nz welcome stakes, hambletonian, and the grand final, won by Massacre trained by DJ Cambell from ashburton.
  21. Crickey I've got a reefton jockey club book from 27 September 1947, a photo of majesty on the front cover, also January 47 with kindergarten, on the cover, afternoon tea under the auspices of the reefton catholic parishioners association, the good old days, even had a few trot races, have to dig deep in my box of tricks to find some of the harness variety.Keep you posted.
  22. In other words there are saying we don't give a toss to see if your investment finished in or out of the money, just get your bet on the next race weather it be coming from timaru or timbuktu, shame on them, another blight on our racing.
  23. This sums up the situation of the country wether it be racing or any other company or business, these so called top dogs absolutely creaming it, whether they are successful or bloody hopeless, what ever happened to performance based salaries, sad state of affairs, and yep needs drastic action.
  24. Hit the nail on the head with that statement, add the crowd to the list.
  25. Someone broke into the local dog pound, and let them loose, police are following a number of leads.
