  1. Always been locked up that track, even when their were a couple of local horses from out that way, they had to travel to omoto to gallop them, the kumara track was always of limits, from what I was told, this way back in the eighties, they certainly won't want to race at reefton, they have always been a stand alone club, cant understand why they wouldn't.
  2. Cheers for that, will have a wee peep.
  3. Ha ha, something's you never forget, won a couple races since then I think, I'm just looking for a roughie or to, like sods law as well, like the geddes horses on grass, can't tip them all, all the best to you punting boys and girls out there, let's hope we can get on to a winner or to.
  4. Like the gynecologist, they are looking into it.
  5. Heading to the coast trots usual suspects lining up, will stick with been to Jenny's and sonic reign, will back them up the second day, and then again at reefton, I see he's fast an furious in, may be worth following, Can remember last year some oldie called him he's slow and feeble, to be fair went very good races.
  6. From what I know about laminitis it is usually secondary, and I dont think alot Is known about it, been many a horse met its demise from it, just read about a top liner in America that fell victim to it, very sad to lose tavistock, been a very good sire and left winners far and wide.
  7. Nice run today, good reward after a few luckless starts, congrats.
  8. The end of an era, and very sad to be fair.
  9. Tough job finding a good joke these days, told I should have been on a stage, next stage outer town.
  10. The eyes make the best eating, they see you through the week.
  11. At least they were free range and will keep the animal rights people happy, as long as we don't get that swine flu, had a mate that thought he had contracted it, rung up the 0800 health line, but all he got was crackling.
  12. Last 2 days I got this page doesn't exist, don't what happened, thought it had been shut down.
  13. I guess you do, was a top effort given the ground she covered, you do wonder sometimes when horses that get the visitors draw, are better to go back and ride for luck, then at least they don't have a hard run.I reckon there be a few that slept well that night.
  14. Good fields and racing down there, quite a few excuses for some beaten runners, being caught 3 and 4 wide the trip, seemed everyone wanted to be on the speed regardless of the draws.
  15. Well done people, great tipping.
  16. This horse may fly the flag for the coast, if the greens have their way, whitebaiting may only be a memory, feel for the coasters, just about anything they want to do to create jobs and industry, gets the bums rush from the government.
  17. Sounds abit fishy to me.

    Nz Cup

Tough job trying to back a winner there yesterday, had all my syndicate bets, visited that dark lonely place that's frowned upon, its called no return, may have been a bit unlucky, shanpark the wrong check, he's our secret, 4 wide the trip, still a good run all the same, she's gallant put up the rodeo act, need i go on, were good competitive fields and I enjoyed the racing, but at the end of the day, they were harder to pick than a broken nose, just as well it was the last round, because I need to be turned out. Very sad to here about Galway Garry, been a revelation this year and after he won his last start trainer said he was heading to the paddock, and set for the nuggets, thoughts to the connections, also good to see the eades get a win with Riviera rock, hope all well with orepuki lad who didn't make the cup, sounds like he may have had a setback.
  19. Days of the our stayers long gone, all the races over the longer trips just seem to be sit and sprint affairs, never any true pace set, enjoyed yesterday's race and the story behind the winner, have had a interest in one that started in the cup not so long ago, and to be fair was very exciting, I wasn't to worried about the caliber of the field, one never forgets these occasions, no matter where you finish. Now have a wee interest in a 5yr old bred to stay, and hopefully we can get to the races one day, he has a very patient owners.

Great result and fully deserved, a good lesson to us all, never give up on life, and follow your dreams, the result today is proof that it can happen, they seem very humble and hard working people.
