  1. Watching a few on the TV, they certainly were flying up there, 1.21 and change in the last race would be close to a track record, even 2.02 for the 2000m, track in great nick for sure.
  2. Did like the boy with the wheelbarrow one from J teaz some time back in his commentary at the gallops.
  3. I will be sticking to a few I followed round the coast circuit, he's fasten furious, sonic reign, and have to be on mogul, after getting a great collect when he won over there and played 40s, he won his first 2 race over there a couple years ago, may battle off the 20m.
  4. Good luck to the club on there big day, weather looks good over there and a great days racing ahead, alas work constraints have hamstrung me this year, but be will heading to tab, certainly can reccomend it's a awesome day out.
  5. I see the report from the gallops at greymouth today one of the apprentice jockeys got a telling off for being 3 wide the trip and not taking cover at any stage, a mate had one in the other week ridden by a senior jockey, 4 wide past the winning post the first time, 3 wide down the side, outside the leader down the back, challenging a known frontrunner, the poor bugger given no show, I said to him could a 4kg claimer done any worse, race was over in very early, what's worse a gutbuster run like that knocks them around.
  6. You better get your name in the mix for the upcoming meeting mardy, or do you have to move in the right circles to get the call up.
  7. What a marvelous effort that was, well done to the tipsters.
  8. Good on them for having ago, and you never know anything can happen, just like one poster said about hes fast and furious, calling him slow, and he went very well 3rd and a 2nd, we haven't heard back from that poster, good on these trainers, for followings their passion, better to live in hope, than to die in despair.
  9. I backed it to, did get held up according to stipes report, but overall was poor over the 3 days, mogul went a good race in the cup to.
  10. Followed mine with the wheelbarrow.
  11. Don't want to name the track, a bit unfair to blame them on one grumpy person's outburst, just put a damper on the day, just thought there was no need for it, I will just have to move on.
  12. Fair call, we can't go on for ever, an older fella used the f word at me at a recent race day for standing on a step to the stand, I think he was an official, must admit it put a damper on the day and I'm tempted to lay a complaint, no need for abusive language.
  13. Easy there Barry, you maybe an old coot one day, some of us won't get to be old, hopefully we still having racing then.
  14. Hope you boys got some off mogul today, 40s a great div, and tipped out in my last post, was please with that div.
  15. Very frustrating with poor drives, rides, mate had one in at the gallops, draw outside gate over 2200m, 4 wide past the winning post, 3 wide round back outside the leader, then had the leader on until the straight, they opted for a senior rider over a claimer, but don't think an apprentice could have done any worse,Safe to say you know where he finished, worse thing is they have a gut buster of a run and knocks the horse around, where of you drop back ride for luck, if your good enough will run home, if not you have a horse left for next time. Very frustrating.
  16. Backing up again today, backed some roughies first day,and will stick them through the whole circuit then Nelson blenheim, here are a few, fortune tiller, mogul, he's fast n furious, sonic reign, sods law, game changer, that Alexander guy. Can't say I'm confident, and usually just a donation, but you got to be in to win.Good luck everyone.
  17. You got to back up the second day.
  18. Fast n furious, u beauty, parked the trip and still stuck on for third, so second leg good run, hope you got on, and back up the second day.
  19. Looked at fortune tiller for a roughly, and franco Hatton, both got poor draws, any of you fellas heading over to the meeting.
  20. Certainly a time for reflections, we all have our gripes and moans, but we must celebrate the day and be thankful to make another xmas, there are many who suffer tragedy at this time of the year, spare a thought for them, to all the dedicated owners and trainers, who work tirelessly to supply the talent for our enjoyment , many thanks and good luck for the holiday racing., also to all the punters out there, and those responsible for the new site, merry xmas everyone and keep safe.
  21. Had a look at the fixed market for Westport, abit light I thought, unlike Santa's sack, but never mind they will be empty tomorrow.Good luck to all for the big day tomorrow, and hope you all can get on to a winner or two, over the festive period.
  22. That's what the lepper said to the prostitute, keep the tip.
  23. Just doing them now, took a while for them to draw some figures out of the hat, just like the Irish magician who couldn't pull a rabbit out of a hat, so he pulled a hare out of his arse, a lottery at that meeting.
  24. Kelly evander
  25. Very good, a forgotten hero of the early days, won races in America over fifty I think from memory, 263 lifetime starts, flew over there with a good galloper called up n coming, and a kangaroo, had to make a diversion on the flight as the galloper give a lot of grief on the flight, a long time ago, was owned and trained in Westport.
