  1. Agree, love the grass racing, just wondered why they switched from the all weather.
  2. Why are they on the grass today
  3. That's Seymour is it.
  4. Be taken my roughies sonic rein and mogul, got to keep the faith.
  5. Nice stakes on offer at hokie on Tuesday, fields reflects that to.
  6. By far the best track on the coast, very good surface, and drains well, had the cyclone through it last February I think, 1 meter deep through tea rooms and track hammered with salt water killing a lot of grass, but still raced about 3 weeks later trots, and you wouldn't even known, but alas the running rail gone nowadays, probably wouldn't take to much to get it back in action, bit off the beaten track. Think the shutes still there but maybe fenced off, the 1200m by the school, if my memory serves me correct, but I am a rusty old relic from a bygone era.
  7. I would say the most abandonments of all the other coast tracks, put together, a shame the track was fiddled with, previous to that never had any issues from what I recall. Early memories it resembled a sponge, soak up anything wet or fine, and race regardless.
  8. Not having much luck down there, seems there is a jinx , with all the abandonment and when they do get to race there's a nasty fall, is this the best track for coast racing, not in my opinion, but that's up to the powers that be.
  9. Hope you people got a piece of sonic reign 9s for second, driven perfectly, but couldn't hold out the winner, those 40s were looking good.
  10. Good on ya, and congratulations on the win, no excuses for the beaten brigade, wins are hard to come by, so soak up the glory and keep watching that replay for the next month or so.
  11. Yeah agree, but don't matter to much, and will be reeftons claim to fame if this was the last hurrah, all horses and riders pulled up well by the look of things, can't ask for much else.
  12. Watching a few on the TV, they certainly were flying up there, 1.21 and change in the last race would be close to a track record, even 2.02 for the 2000m, track in great nick for sure.
  13. Did like the boy with the wheelbarrow one from J teaz some time back in his commentary at the gallops.
  14. I will be sticking to a few I followed round the coast circuit, he's fasten furious, sonic reign, and have to be on mogul, after getting a great collect when he won over there and played 40s, he won his first 2 race over there a couple years ago, may battle off the 20m.
  15. Good luck to the club on there big day, weather looks good over there and a great days racing ahead, alas work constraints have hamstrung me this year, but be will heading to tab, certainly can reccomend it's a awesome day out.
  16. I see the report from the gallops at greymouth today one of the apprentice jockeys got a telling off for being 3 wide the trip and not taking cover at any stage, a mate had one in the other week ridden by a senior jockey, 4 wide past the winning post the first time, 3 wide down the side, outside the leader down the back, challenging a known frontrunner, the poor bugger given no show, I said to him could a 4kg claimer done any worse, race was over in very early, what's worse a gutbuster run like that knocks them around.
  17. You better get your name in the mix for the upcoming meeting mardy, or do you have to move in the right circles to get the call up.
  18. What a marvelous effort that was, well done to the tipsters.
  19. Good on them for having ago, and you never know anything can happen, just like one poster said about hes fast and furious, calling him slow, and he went very well 3rd and a 2nd, we haven't heard back from that poster, good on these trainers, for followings their passion, better to live in hope, than to die in despair.
  20. I backed it to, did get held up according to stipes report, but overall was poor over the 3 days, mogul went a good race in the cup to.
  21. Followed mine with the wheelbarrow.
  22. Don't want to name the track, a bit unfair to blame them on one grumpy person's outburst, just put a damper on the day, just thought there was no need for it, I will just have to move on.
  23. Fair call, we can't go on for ever, an older fella used the f word at me at a recent race day for standing on a step to the stand, I think he was an official, must admit it put a damper on the day and I'm tempted to lay a complaint, no need for abusive language.
  24. Easy there Barry, you maybe an old coot one day, some of us won't get to be old, hopefully we still having racing then.
  25. Hope you boys got some off mogul today, 40s a great div, and tipped out in my last post, was please with that div.
