  1. One of the top trotters of his era trained on that track, not to many that win 2 dominion handicaps, I will be backing hes fast and furious, be a chance with a good draw, placed at Reefton last year at healthy odds, bit unlucky I thought, anything can win over there and it's easy to end up with egg on your face. Never condemn a horse till it's dead, a wise man told me once.
  2. No gallops on that track, last meeting in 1996 from memory.
  3. Cheers dougie, had a wee peek earlier at that majestic action, very well bred to, and trainer goes good over there.
  4. Just seen the fields for the grass track meeting at Westport, as usual, look harder to pick than a broken nose, any tipster out there game to give out a few tips at value, be keen to here of any.

I got called two dicks once, asked as to why, the reply was, you couldn't get that silly pulling one.
  6. Got given a pair of shoes from a dealer next door, don't know what he laced them with, but I was tripping all day.
  7. Have to agree on that one, followed his team in the early days and eventually gave up after one of them changed stables and won 3 straight away, after I felt like I had bought it,, think j cox trained it, oh and rainy river, by the time he started winning races I was worn out and lighter for the experience, good on him now seems to have some tidy horses. The big dividends always got my attention in the early days.
  8. Missed out on tin roof blues, thought it was an ok bet bar the draw, seen it in but forgot to even watch the race. That's horses for you.
  9. Think they turn a blind eye on that one, not to mention the copious amounts of 1080 they drop, which apparently doesn't kills birds, but no problems with possums, pets and even maybe a few cows, by means of a cruel agonizing slow death. All a bit hypocritical for me.
  10. Wonder if he will get wind of it.
  11. Cheers for the heads up, got about 49 races on it, if I want to get them all average ones included be up for about 500 bucks I guess, is the quality just as good.
  12. Sounds familiar, all replays on mysky, will have to get the official nztr replays at some stage, but be a few of them had a heap of 2nds as well, all the cost starts to add up I guess.
  13. Certainly not cheap, started out with 2 mediums, think the next ones be small ones, are about 4 behind at present.
  14. First horse i had an interest in won 6 races, the thrill of each win for me is an unbelievable feeling, the amount of times you watch the replays and relive the moment, I've lost count, then the winning photos for the wall are a great pleasure, especially to replace those old wedding day photos, agree with mooncoins, statement, how very true, nothing a given in this game, and I will take my success to the grave, an feel I've been very fortunate, even if I don't get any success with the next one.
  15. Good picking, would have been a nice place multi, looked likely to get the lot in, just a shame the last one couldn't quite hang on, top effort all the same.
  16. Couldn't they just have wished their playmaker good luck, instead of a spiel about what they didn't want from him, feel it was a shame and no loyalty shown, regardless of what took place.
  17. Didn't go a bad race in the cup, a wee way back, but had many behind him, not bad for the outsider of the field.
  18. Good day out, and getting in for free an upside of being an owner, pleased to see our fella get around in one piece and go a good race. Such an honest boy. I struggled with the numbers there, think I will put the blinkers on and tongue tie next year to stop me gawking around at all that fashion, and young fillies on course.
  19. My roughie to. Need sting out of track.
  20. Nice ride Terry Mosley.

And given the perfect trail by the stablemate, which was the winning of the race,

He did look a bit sheepish
  23. Puts me off, but have to go I guess, gonna be a long day on the feet if no seating or shelter, not a great spectacle there as the track is so big, if your an owner is there any extra benefits apart from free entry.
  24. A mate out country over there said heavy rain at his place tonight.
  25. Save you 40$ admission fee for starters.
