Interesting start in the last race, two very slow away, one late scratched having its head in the other one's barrier, but apparently not effecting its chances, according to the rider, so it deemed a starter, last race so they all probably wanted to get home, not sure about the compass, just think they forgot where the winning post was.

Must have been an easier and safer for them set up the checkpoint via the backdoor.
  3. Interesting reading the washup from the last at the greymouth gallops, one late scratched and the other deemed a starter, even though the late scratched one had his head in the barrier of the one deemed a starter, jockey stated it did effect his chances, didn't look good and no help to the punter, just maybe they were in a hurry to get home being the last race.

That's a very good turnover, similar to what kumara would do at home, yep everyone had to leave via the back door, to be fair probably was safer than the bridge and that corner on the hill, people were warned throughout the day about the breath testing, so no excuses there, first time ever I have gone out the back door, the club would certainly be happy with the crowd and turnover, well done to them, maybe a better plan for the future, as kumara will always be a dicey one. Just wonder what they turned over last Sunday, the weather was a tad damp and cold, guess you can't win them all, just a shame that hokitika was the biggest loser in the wash up with losing their venue. The powers that be certainly got that one wrong.

Big crowd there today, weather played it's part and fields held up well, looked like horses and riders got around in one piece, was surprised to see the car park was full and had to leave via the back entrance, roll on Tuesday.
  6. Maybe if it had been a favourite the result may have not changed.
  7. Had a friend that brought a pair of meatloaf undies, printed on the front it read I will do anything for love, and on the back it read but I won't do that.
  8. Thanks for your kind offer, but thought your day would be busy enough, sorry didn't catch your comments, couldn't quite hear them if it was during the cup presentation, getting abit deaf these days,
  9. Certainly was a great day out, thought the crowd was better than other years, track played fair and winners came from front and back, hopefully the turnover was up.
  10. Agree, draw usually dictates the winning of the races, I certainly wont be having a bet in any mile races.

May pay to stay at home.
  12. Let's hope they get good weather and a crowd at omoto tomorrow, been a bit of light rain over there, good to see the north islanders continuing to support the meeting.
  13. Club be pleased to get the all clear, and now will be keeping a close eye on the forecast, maybe there will be a pork pie stand this year..
  14. Was todays kurow meeting their last hurrah at home.
  15. No, thats John Thomas.Be some tired horses heading to reefton today, will stick with swap over, last start to bad to be true, sonic reign, sods law the track specialist, be many tired punters to.
  16. Had a friend that had a blow up doll, he took it back to the manufacturer, told him it kept going down on him, he replied if I had know that I would have charged you double the price
  17. Nice tipping, those fixed odds can be a pitiful at times, please you were on the right side of the ledger, I backed one yesterday morning at 71s, at timaru gallops, park ranger, paid 39s tote and closed at 81s fixed, tough at times, but like those outside odds, this horse was with Amanda swart, last start and went that bad I just about didn't back it, but it did go back to original trainer Bruce tapper, some turnaround. Keep up the good work.
  18. No luck at the trots but did get park ranger at 75s fixed huge turnaround in form.
  19. Still the odd shower now.
  20. Looks like at nice day at the moment, good days racing ahead, the going should suit all horses.
  21. Backing up with this on the second day, chuck in swap over better draw, sonic reign again, sods law, light rain their at the mo may suit a few with sting out of track.
  22. Never been the same since they fiddled with that track, has cost them big time since, after many abandonments, hard to say how their financial situation is.
  23. Anyone back been to Jenny's, put my bet on at 5am this morn could only use the fixed option tote odds wouldn't let me do it, fixed price at that time was 22s, yet I only ended up with 17s for some reason, dont know why, to be fair should have paid way more.
  24. Not sure what their beef is, don't even think they chipped in on the new starting gates some years back, although do stand to be corrected on that one, they way things are they should be all United.
