  1. Good on crab, back out of his shell.
  2. Horse was ok, just all shook up.
  3. Why would they start it, don't need to give the activists any more fuel for the fire, remember years ago backed a horse at kumara, had been trailing well, got away from from the jockey and done a lap, refunded my bet, the horse leads all the way and wins, elvis was its name I think,by golden elder, was many years back.
  4. Eating to much horse meat will give you the trots
  5. Had a friend with a blow up doll, wasn't happy with it, so took it back to the retailer, he said what's wrong with it, it keeps going down on me, he replied if id had known that I would have charged you double.
  6. Was just saying on another post I followed the McDowell horses over the 3 days, unless I catch them on nelson circuit and get a return, that man deserves a db.Even the Hope's didn't have much joy, just as hard to win there as anywhere
  7. Another tough day on the punt at reefton, followed the McDowell horses over the 3 say circuit, unless I can get some returns at the Nelson circuit, been a very lean time, that man deserves a db.
  8. Ring the integrity line, those horses should have been scratched regardless, shocking, ok one did win,but the others didn't go that well, vet check happened very fast, probably they all wanted to get home, clerk of the course apparently got a telling off, but that doesn't help the losing punter,I was left shaking my head
  9. At least they picked up the wrong horse had been saddled up, or we could have had another de monfort episode, as for the good spanking, only allowed if your wearing your leather jockeys.
  10. Crickey I remember fred, injured some rough weather there over his years of service, bit of a legend in his day, I think he would turn in his grave if he knew it was a paying job these days.
  11. Very windy there today, some never heard the whistle, but for me where was the clerk of course, in wrong place, having a snooze, was a very quick vet check and there off again, should have all been scratched, my one trotted away great on the first attempt, but was stirred up the second time and galloped, took me 19 races over the two days to back a winner, fynn frost, was pleased with dividends, that was the only collect there, certainly backed some average performers, but then I do look for those roughies.
  12. Certainly having a bad trot
  13. Yep, tighter than a mouse's ear.
  14. Could understand why Tyler's are staying at home, better stakes, no travel, no brainer isn't it, as for the coasters 3 meetings in a week, Monday, Thursday, Saturday, will be a interesting week that's for sure, Reefton apparently starting at 2.30pm.
  15. Interesting to see how horse numbers stack up for the pending coast thoroughbred circuit, I see the Tyler's are staying home, which makes sense, hope the Myers barn make trip down, and a few other stalwarts.
  16. Thanks for clearing that rule up, for me trainer changes always get my interest, Madam de soir the horse in question had been battling down south on bog tracks and in average fields, then when I seen her come south for a few starts, i thought she must be showing plenty to bring up to ashburton and riccarton, little did I know Danny crozier had her, he certainly worked the Oracle, been in great form since, a frustrating rule that one, needs addressing like the standardbred horse movements rule, notifications.
  17. That's all good Thomas's, rules are rules, and from a punters point of view is important to know, I had a whinge a while back when a horse I used to follow won two races after plodding around down the deep south, raced and won at ashburton, then at riccarton, after race interview horse had been at riccarton for a month or two, with a different trainer, I still never seen any notification of a change, would have been a changer for me punting wise, was still in original trainers name, unless I missed it somewhere, I no the harness advertise horse movements, anyone no the rules regarding stable changes.Anyway getting back to the other, just remember, small ones try harder.
  18. Better late than never, I guess, took big Thomass to give em a curry up,
  19. Agree with you on all counts, very gifted and had the balls to take the hurdles at the highest level, not many have done that, many have come and gone over the years, so his longevity in the game has been second to none, your obviously a good judge bill, probably rode yourself.
  20. Interesting to hear people's personal opinion on the most memorable wins or placings over his career, for me did witness him winning the grand national on ampac, one of his three wins in the race, but his Melbourne cup placing on mercator was a highlight for me.
  21. Interesting all the Nate tagging bought in for the cattle, and they are still trying to trace where all the stock had gone, when bovis struck, I thought that was the reason for having the tracing on stock, obviously another fail somewhere.
  22. Numbers have been light in the races mentioned, last couple years, just doesn't seem to be the horses around for that grade, stakes been quite good I thought.
  23. Have to agree, those 2.02 and 2.03 2000m races always had me a tad dubious,
  24. Totally agree, if for one have never and will never have a sports bet in my life, they way I see it is it's always been for racing from day one, and should remain that way, as for the quaddies first fours ect, have basically cut the trifecta price or some trifecta worth more than first fours, whatever happened to the simple forms of betting, to many options.
  25. All the forms of betting just stretches the dollar wider, and the pools are weaker, only so much to go around
