I really rate T Mitchell , she sits well and can actually use the whip without looking like she is actually shitting herself when taking one hand off the reins , but she didn't have to be a brain surgeon to realise what she was doing yesterday . As for S Wynne don't get me started , she does my head in , some of her rides leave me dumbfounded , plus i don't think she rides well in big races most of the time , when she does , well even a clock that isn't working gets it right twice a day . But she's not alone in that department .

I see at least the stipes were awake enough to give Mitchell a bit of a grilling over her ride , which is a small miracle in it's self .

With the standard after race statement by the jockey of " next time " . What they don't get is that sometimes in this universe there is no next time , today was the destined day , and they fucked it up .

I wonder what his opinion will be by the time he leaves these shores . The rides by S Wynne on Okay Pal and T Mitchel on Sophie's Magic were tragic , especially the second , all but looked an obvious pull job but i know it wasn't , just absolutely horrible understanding of what was going on and what was required , wakey , wakey miss Mitchell .

Apparently now one of the Lock family who had a share in Sierra Sue offered Starship 10k from his winnings but was turned down . His partners daughter had battled leukemia so he wanted to pay some thing back as a thanks . Perhaps the CEO of Starship is going to take a substantial pay cut to make up some of the lost funds . One thing i read said that Starship is currently trying to raise 1.5mil for a new helicopter , go figure . A really dumb look .

I read both meeting reports last night and was struck by how many jocks of all levels of experience are still getting done for excessive use of the whip , slow learners some of them , or all by the looks .

Yeah well it's not Rodders fault he is in Sydney , the plan was to send him to Melbourne where the majority of visiting Kiwi horses are , but , the TAB's budget didn't stretch to getting him to Melbourne so Sydney it was . The long term plan is for Rodders to hitch down next Monday after the Everest meeting . So if anybody knows someone travelling the Pacific Highway , can you ask them to keep an eye out for a bedraggled looking bloke wearing unwashed clothes and carrying a small backpack and pole and billy can , if they can show some humanity and offer him a lift , maybe even offer to buy him a feed because i would think the sausage rolls that NZTR threw in as their part of the costs would have run out , apparently some got eaten at an NZTR management meeting by mistake as they thought sausage rolls were only for senior management . Please if you do see him show some humanity , he's doing his best .
