Some fillies are on the prestigious Vic Oaks trail , and on the way can bag a Group 1 at Caulfield with the Thousand Guinea's over the mile today. BARB RAIDER with Willow up , might camp right on the back of leaders Waterhouse/Bott pair (No 's 1 + 8 ) until in the home straight, and give them the Go-by ! all going well. and for a great shot chance at 100-1 , couple BARB RAIDER R7 with FOXY FRIDA R8 . In race 8 the mares race, Daniel Moor replaces the apprentice who rode last time, and MOOR won brilliantly at Flemington with 'Foxy Frida' in Winter. The Mile distance today, will be right up her alley !!! . Foxy Frida does have a bad barrier draw, so a saver on SIRILEO MISS (also in R8) not a bad idea , as she is racing very well too.

Mr Galah , after the disappointments with this Tim Williams trotter pulling up on him , and Tornado Valley and Tough Monarch doing the same at Melton on Friday. Did you catch the GROUP 1 at Bendigo Saturday night ???? A gammalite Favourite the tiny PINK GALAHS (5-1 you beauty) winning the Big mile for the second year running !! TROTTERS redemption ! after a couple of bad nights. AND 1.54.2 as well not too shabby. 2nd was the hot fav, also a very small horse nz bred by Majestic Son,,, MAJESTUOSO and Kate Gath . Loved it !! after the post ,all the way around to the back straight Kate was giving Matty Craven a Gobful as seemingly not impressed, as he only won by a nose with a exceptionally well timed thrust , laying in on Kate a bit !! hahahaha Group driving at it's Best !!!!!!! -
Could be an Extremely big pay day this week with Nature Strip all going well. Jmac will be hoping Eduardo isn't eye-balling. That Sydney Metro racing is just so Darn TIGHT. they are bumping and bashing every race now it seems. Berry and Bowman have completely bumped over opponents past year (Avdulla still out I think) it's like a charge of the Light Brigade !!! all cannons firing. Can see it is very hard to even contemplate winning race after race in that arena. Jmac grabbing some anyway.
-
Is that blinkers Chief? You can almost See the great mare trying harder than ever, as Nonconformist looms outside her ? and comes in to her view. (tongue in cheek) difference between win or 2nd maybe ? hehehe
-
That's a tough one ! but will have to add Sunline into the NZ mares team (along with Jeezabeel and Ethereal for taking Cup honours in the last 1/4 century brilliantly) Like-wise Makybe Diva goes in for Oz with 3 x MC's and Cox Plate. and also Miss Andretti with her 5 track records. so we have Probabeel, Melody Belle, Verry Elleegant, Sunline, Jezabeel, and Ethereal for NZ versus ........Winx, Arcadia Queen, Black Caviar, Makybe Diva and Miss Andretti for Oz looks like Aussie mares showing a heap of 'Dash' but completely 'outstayed' by the great kiwi mares in the end !
-
She's a gem . Probabeel and Melody Belle and Verry Elleegant are the NZ equal of ........... Winx and Arcadia Queen and Black Caviar of Oz great mares ... (and my best favourite mare Amazing Dream !! with a very honourable mention lol)
-
Great tippin Nomates!!! ... now for a Probabeel stable double for the kiwis would be something
-
Going great guns then is Mr Yole with his 50 runners each meeting lol. Shame Yole can't get a horse in a feature race , or even get one to win a 'Metro ' race . speaks volumes of his stable. Well before you get abusive take a look at your Poor wording then mate. Makes it SEEM to the READER that you were talking about the one combination of Shan Noble and Natalie driving. ...and I can talk fine thank-you

I tell ya what , there is a SWITCH OFF disease going around with the trotters.? Tonight at Melton R8, in a 20k trot Anthony Butt and Kate Gath got to experience that TIM WILLIAMS feeling !!! Just Like WannaPlayWithMe didn't want to play late in race for Tim, 2 of the Best trotters ever seen in Aus and NZ refused to go on with the job either !!!!!!!!!! the darndest thing ! we were just talking about. TORNADO VALLEY was 5 lengths clear of field home bend and just dug the toes in, much to the distress of Kate , and ran 5 lengths second. Very strange. He would of passed $1,000,000 earnings if won as well. And the Gammalite fav trotter TOUGH MONARCH was even worse !! refused to go for Ant's and was 40m back 5th. -
If you liked her being a nose back driving the second place-getter behind Shan Noble that is yesterday. Mark just in front of her, is No Pretender anyway lol.

Yes indeed . Penalties are always controversial , even all the footy codes have trouble all the time , even with set rules of play. One week or 2 for the bad tackle? . Red card or sin-bin for the high shot? . I prefer the Interference suspension personally. Herlihy avoided that KRUG drive suspension that time , when tightening first corner at Alex Park caused a galloper on inside , so a bit lucky to get away with it. With the NZ Cup approaching , Does anyone remember CAMELOT winning for Robin Butt ? a very solid win in 4.06, that had Gammalite struggling a long way out, and fin near last. George Shand on BORANA caused a massive Pile -up when pushing out down the back. Down went Diamond Moose, Enterprise and 3 others, Paul Young near catapaulted into orbit ..... George got 4 weeks for that , but blamed the horse not steering well lol. (as you always do naturally ) fun times. Was a Bit more 'serious' in my mind than a horse clocking off early like Tim's did though....lol -

yes Dougie was saying the same thing. What should the penalty be then in that case ? Last weekends double Randwick Group 1 jockey Regan Bayliss got Three weeks suspension ???? yesterday at Gosford on a scrubby old Maiden R4, that he rode 'hard and well ', all up the home straight , and sat up 5m out. Poor bugger got beaten a nose . just a tragic state of affairs for him. (3 weeks with lots of Top rides 'lost 'now) Is that for public perception ? bloody mean. harsh beyond words. I would of been quite happy with his effort in that race on a scrubby maiden. Back to Tim then, should it be 3 weeks ? (or like Bayliss got,),,, or 3 months like Teaz wants Ross Cameron to get lol...) for public perception of course !!! on that rank outsider. did Ross get a suspension in the end? -

Error and mis-judgement s occur every race. How many times do you see someone rattling home late to just miss? Happens all the time . And plenty of times at the gallops a jockey gets the lead too soon in the home straight , and the horse clocks off , and gets beaten late. I see that happen every week-end. that was sort of an error too by the jockey. Doesn't happen as often at the trots , so this Tim Williams incident is standing out like dogs balls..... Drivers getting suspended and fined is NOT something I like ..... or think solves anything . Unless they cause 'Interference' to another runner and stop it's chances of winning. (Williams and Ross Cameron in the Saginaw incident recently did not cause interference) so why suspend them? Take a look at Sydney gallops, (from experienced jocks) ....... BOWMAN (winter last year bowling A.Adkins (very badly injured) on Hot'n'Hazy over) and BERRY (this year recently bowled Xtremetime over severely injuring Avdulla) near killing fellow jocks !!! ( the opposition horse dead on both occasions) They got 6 weeks and 8 weeks suspension each . Should be 6 months each IMO, and pay restitution to their peers. Bit more serious than worrying about who was favourite on the punt or not ?? or whether you have a party or not like Kah . -

Hehehe.... what a good one. The Galah will have good judgement, But Teaz (after getting stuck into the Saginaw bloke) should have a field day with this one . Top rated driver making an error thinking he had the leader covered. Still ......his efforts weren't like he was trying to lose or help anyone else or anything , just a mis-judgement. Plenty of errors occur in races, as only one can win . Not like the 13th May race at Auckland with Dylan Ferguson completely driving his 2 yearold against the older horses for the complete benefit of MeetmeinSorrento , (driven by Zac Butcher on that one occasion). Classy Operator may be the horse name , but surely not Fergusons nicname on that occasion. -
The leading Oz Harness trainer should be this lady.
Gammalite replied to Gammalite's topic in Trotting Chat
Doing super well Hunter !!!! Julie has just over 130 wins this year (season), exactly the same as Emma . both Trainers in Victoria too. The thing with EMMA STEWART is the staggering amount of Group Race wins. Almost same as Allstars !!! EMMA might run the First 4 in the Group1 Vic Oaks this weekend , and finish first 5 with 3 lady drivers and Chris Alford and David Moran on the Fav. 5 runners. and quinella the Vic Derby too. ! (with 2 more different drivers !! ) share the winning joy around ? ... go Emma !!!! -
Hey what do you know, there goes ENJOY ME going around just now at Addington ! a very good 2nd placing first up since Summer as well ! she'll be winning Very Soon. AND the first Three Races at Addington today All won by the 'Juniors' driving with great aplomb !!...lol
-
Couldn't agree more Whippy! a third 'Big Time Player' stable is excellent for the NZ harness racing. Dunn stable and Allstars stable win a swag of the big plum races, so another Stable needs to step up and keep the pressure on ............. Telfers Already snagged some big slices of the cake too !! and doing quite well , B D JOE winning the jewels Group 1 defeating Krug, an excellent effort! (BD JOE was 2nd to Krug in NZ Derby this year as well) 'ENJOY ME' knocked off champion Bettor Twist in a Group 1 sires fillies final on new years eve. 'DANCE TIME' been winning too ,and beat Pembrook Playboy in an Auckland feature in winter. so they are 'bringing the challenge' already as you say, and hope they keep it going for competitive racing !!

Take 3 - Road to the Cup - RACE TALK ONLY PLEASE
Gammalite replied to Karrotsisback's topic in Trotting Chat
After last years scintillating wins in fast times>>>> SELF ASSURED for the Cup , and SUNDEES SON for the Dominion seem 'Past the Post ' propositions to me. both won very easily then. I commented previously about the need to keep those races as Handicaps , to give the opposition some hope, but being Free-For-All Stands ??. well Self Assured and Sundees Son will both have 10m on the fields?? Also 'Team driving ' will help them too. SUNDEES SON getting a dream passage in the Dominion last year, with a 'suicide drive' by Tim Williams on 'PRES THE BELLE' the Dunn stablemate. (she was never the same again after) Tim driving Ashley Locaz to help Mark with an 'easy lead' in the Cup too, for the Allstars camp. Very astute team driver is Mr Williams !!!!!!!! The Consummate Professional !!!! -
I'm still 'getting over' the Dominion Handicap for the trotters going at 4min and 1/2 second speed last year .... How good are they ? most pacers can't do that..... quite incredible. SUNDEES SON trotted that last year. wonder If he will go quicker this year ? and break the 4 min barrier ? The Aussie raider, TOUGH MONARCH probably won't get there with covid about this year sadly. He Placed in the Dominion Handicap 2019 with Ant's driving, and last year with Mark Purdon driving. He's near the Oz best. Tough Monarch Won the Group 2 Cup, last Saturday night at Menangle off the backmark 30m handicap over 3000m . It was really funny as he has that much on them , he trotted away by 6-8 lengths in front at the 1/4 , then Rickie let him ease down up to the line and he was at jogging speed at the post by 1 length. Nearly muffed it lol........

Any sign of MUSCLE MOUNTAIN returning soon? or has he gone abroad? Won that Group 1 at Addington, beating Sundees Son at Easter (also 2nd in jewels to Bolt for Brilliance too so is pretty smart) -
The number 8 horse unplaced tonight, JACK"S LEGEND a brilliant 2nd to Lazarus in a NZ Cup 2017 !!! terrific horse , but only 9 wins from 40 starts in NZ ,(20 of those races won by Allstars and 5 by Star Gallaria) having to chase Turn It Up and Allstars (and also Star Gallaria ) around all the time must be TOUGH going ???

Here's a Great ad for NZ and Australian harness racing stock. The 'Fast' Class event of the night in NEW YORK , USA featured an entire field of Australian and New Zealand bred horses. !!! The 'Open ' Pace featured horses capable of running 1.50 miles ! on the 1/2 mile track. crazy good !!!!!. Most of the card at Yonkers in New York, was races with horses running between 1.52 and 1.54 .times. NANDOLO (NZ) was the Winner ! a very nice horse 'sold-off' after last years NZ Cup and FFA runs. Here was the field he beat tonite !!! An amazing effort by the Kiwis and Aussies !! I luv this stuff !!
-
Here's a photo of HUMPHREY powering to the line to beat Cardinal Garrison. The late great 'Ted' Lowe even posing/ smiling for the in-field photographer !! Humphrey started favourite after winning the Kaikoura Cup in NZ record time off 36 yards week before NZ Cup. As always , the best seem to get 'Sold off' and both Humphrey and Cardinal Garrison were then sold to USA.

I do admire the arguements above of you, Chief Stipe, Aquaman standing up for your health and rights. All round the world vaccines are the Only way governments could see a 'Way Out' of pandemic/ lockdowns , (and the bankruptcies, suicides and things you mentioned (alas for the world) .... The side effects are certainly an issue. Penicillin (and Chlorine in pools) are also poison, that kill harmful bacteria to stop getting sick or mend ill / sick people. (I had a tooth abscess but refused the Penicillin prescribed in the end, as effects immune system ) They are toxic and kill bacteria and could damage your body cells as well , and many have allergic reactions......., and just like a virus /flu vaccine , it just comes down to choice as you say ......... be sick or well .......,be in lockdown or no-lockdown... very much a shame if people locked down from NZ Cup !! a traditional NZ occasion and fun for all. They still had the NRL final here in Brisbane last week-end by some miracle. (Threats of lockdown) I'm over it ..... and still yet to be vaccinated (and you are putting me off ! lol.........)

Very slim. BD Joe won a Very High class Jewels race , so Far too good here. I have no trouble with competitive stablemates in one race. Dunn will have in Methven Cup . Bernie Hackett team in the 4 trots at Auckland. Telfer been doing it a while , and Allstars too. AS LONG AS THE TEAM DRIVING IS TO THE ADVANTAGE OF ALL RUNNERS. The advantage here is the Trainer Knows the closing speed of Every runner, and can get his drivers to position accordingly. why wouldn't you ? If I was trainer I would predict 1st - 7th fairly accurately I would think. Not many drivers /jockeys listen to owners advice Chief !! lol. the trainers instructions are what matters. hehehe
