He's better looking than me ...just a tad younger, I'd say ...and he knows it. Very impressive individual, and Rosewood did the job beautifully again today. I took away a little something from Westbury yesterday for you.. if you can advise me of a postal address I will snail mail it to you. D:

fairytale week for Philippa Glass's progeny is now a fairytale month younger sibling by Alamosa - The Other Half - wins at Te Aroha by 30 lengths!!

Please note: this is a video LOL ... of photos...LOLOL ...somehow I've made a video, and have no idea how... you'll have to pause the flocking thing to identify and inspect the ones you like most ! I missed completely getting El Roca, sorry... So we have, in order: Redwood, Postponed, Telperion, Reliable Man, Swiss Ace and Tarzino. Cheers mustelidus maximus Westbury Stallion Parade August 24 2018_Medium.mp4

New Plymouth R4 Admiral at $23 and $4.50 ...a 6 race winner (incl sprints at Ellerslie), all wins on heavy ground, today getting a 4kg claim (Rebecca Scott)..has drawn the inside and likes to race in or near the lead ...Admiral is not expected to beat the likes of Rosewood, but racing is a funny game. Hunch: Admiral leads, controls the tempo, makes it a sprint home, kicking away on the muddy corner, no weight on his back, and they don't catch him. $23 is too good to turn down. R7 Dark Princess $5 and $1.80. connections have a very high opinion of this horse. Smacked 'em last week and could easily do it again if not been flattened by the easy win. They wouldn't be starting her today if that run had taken too much out of her.

Clearly I am abiggesr star than Redwood ..he's far too pncy and arrogant/superior in bearing, while this modest mustelid just quiwtly accqepts any atroke on the chin he can get and blushes accordingly. Thanks Jess. I have pics (but not videos) of all the stallions paraded but wont post them unless you really want to see them.

TE RAPA's hopeless incompetent Track Managment...INQUIRY NOW
Weasel replied to Thomass's topic in Galloping Chat
I understand it was not just the quantity of sand applied to the Te Rapa track but the quality as well - it was the wrong kind of sand! -
Hi Jess I've chopped a 2min (268Mb) video of Redwood down, to allow me to post it on this site..excuse the arbitrary cut-off hopefully you will see enough to satisfy your interest in him. All the stallions paraded today at Westbury (Redwood, Reliable Man, Telperion, Swiss Ace, El Roca, Tarzino ..and Postponed at 21yrs of age were presented in truly magnificent order. It was difficult to 'rank' them on looks/condition but if I had to make a call I'd go: Redwood physically superb with a Brad Pitt attitude!), Telperion and Tarzino. But im no breeding expert. Enjoy the video. 20180824_121301_001.mp4

TE RAPA's hopeless incompetent Track Managment...INQUIRY NOW
Weasel replied to Thomass's topic in Galloping Chat
Ballarat? Sea King could come outta retirement! -
Part of the problem assessing Winx is how clearly superior she is to the other Aussie/Kiwis of her time..is she 'lucky' to be so clearly the best of her era - to put it another way, who has she beaten? Name another champion she has beaten...Hartnell?? Humidor?? Gailo Chop? For me what makes her the best of the best of (say the last 20-30 years is the way she wins, often from awkward/difficult positions; the times she runs; her ability to win left and right-handed, and from sprints to middle-distances and in all track conditions. As mentioned in a previous post, we will never know how she would have fared over 3200m; she was unlucky when she lost over 2400m; I have no doubt she'd 'get the trip'...KT at least had the chance to win (and might have won) a Melbourne Cup, carrying a big weight..could Winx do that? She has the motor and the sheer will to win found only in true champions of the turf, and has proved it countless times. There is nothing left to prove. Lord knows what she will do to them in the Cox Plate this year.

Written Questions for Winston and Messara to Answer.
Weasel replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
spoken with all the wisdom, common sense, intellect, fair-mindedness and sheer kindness this Forum has come to expect of Thomass. At least he didn't disappoint. -
Good to see a young man get his first winner at Taupo today. Happened to see the replay from front-on ..he nearly fell off after the line! Certainly appeared to lose his balance as he stood up in the saddle to celebrate... I expect the stipes may have had a (not so) quiet word Beware, young man! Wait til you get off the horse! LOL.

TE RAPA's hopeless incompetent Track Managment...INQUIRY NOW

why would the connections of the flat runners (on a mostly jumping day) want to run at Te Rapa when there's Ruakaka and Hastings just a week later? -
Written Questions for Winston and Messara to Answer.
Weasel replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
It's clearly ridiculous to expect sensible questions to come immediately after Winnie's speech, when no-one will have had time to digest the substance and implications of a wide-ranging report. SURELY THEY KNOW THIS...it's great way of being 'transparent' while limiting criticism. Most of the tough questions would easily be answered by saying: "Read the report; it's in the report. Next question." So... why not suggest a live Q&A session to be televised on Trackside sometime (soon), ie in the next 2-4 weeks, with Peters and Messara together, when we have all had time to digest the report? -
and mine. KT at his peak was unbeatable but he had too many defeats to be ranked superior to her

CS Im pretty sure the Queensland Oaks is 2200m (or was in her year 2015)..she'll never be tried over 3200m and I cant see them wanting to race ger over 2400m unless its a match race with some international stayer (bring back Justify !?)

Nice article here about how Prince Invictus got his (new) name and how he got bought off the Queen!! https://www.smh.com.au/sport/racing/princely-sum-how-geoff-grimish-bought-a-horse-off-the-queen-20180719-p4zsb9.html

Hesi I thought she did that pretty easily really...Bowman started pulling her up well before the post and she's nowhere near 100% yet! Love that galloping action, though! As you say eats up that ground!

Check with Thomass, please, FTF ... I confidently predict that IF Winx is wearing blinkers (having not worn them last start) and is racing down in grade having shown Superior form (Clue for Thomass: check her last 26 wins on end), AND her jockey has put in the penetrometer across the full width of the track on raceday to 'find the fast lane' ... Thomass will tip her to win next start.. and he'll tell us all about it the day after! LOL

I do think Jacinda is suffering (and will suffer again in 2020 from being thrown in at the deep end; she really needed 3 years as Leader of the Opposition just to learn more political ringcraft. Winning the tabloid popularity stakes is fine for a while - and a baby helps - but she is going to struggle to deal with the consequences of all these tax hikes esp regional fuel tax and the never-ending problems of Auckland congestion/housing. One-term Government, unless business confidence takes a sharp rise in the next 6 months, and I cant see that happening given the wider picture (Trump / trade wars / petrol price rises / house building difficulties etc
-
Indeed...anyone else noticing that one JC (a female who thinks she is similar/related to the great JC) is making LOTS of 'news' lately. I have no doubt she is waiting with knife sharpened for Simon to cop a Cunnliife-like opinion poll and go for the jugular ... prediction: coup before Xmas, new leader announced by end January 2019; plenty of time to rip Jacinderella to shreds and be back in Gummit 2020. Not a bad idea, as long as its not JC in charge

and especially as she is not at the peak of her powers!

It may surprise you to learn that I didnt see Phar Lap race...but I've seen some good'uns from Kingston Town and Bonecrusher to Black Caviar and now Winx. Impossible to compare and don't need to...she is probably the best of them all.

BODs and BOWs ...dont look Thomass, no girlie pics here
Weasel replied to Weasel's topic in Galloping Chat
Thanks for those elads. will keep an eye on them! Also on my list: Jochen Rindt, Alvin's Dream, Swissilicious and Artiste - each way all of them Dark Princess worh another chance at Waverley Tatura R4 Get Out Of My Neigh - a Tavistock - good 4th last time looks progressive type. -
Looking forward to the return of Winx on the morrow and a competitive Gp 2 at Te Rapa. Meanwhile down at Waverley ... M4 R7 I Suggest is at $10 and $3.10 ...this is an 8-race winning marem(from 60 starts), with a 4kg claim (Casey-Mae Waddell) to carry 52.5kg on a track where she has already been a winner. Has put in some good efforts recently without much luck in the running ..false odds, I suggest ..great value anywhere near $10 -$12
