  1. Yes and they say she still preferred PM by 40% is it?
  2. Don't worry JB there are some people here in NZ who still think the industry isn't operated out of self interest and its all fair and that the cartel doesn't exist. I say to them go race , breed , join a racing club (preferably outside the top 5) or perhaps try to train one yourself then come back and say boo!
  3. Yep I've given up on them, its not even average coverage its gotten that bad.
  4. I think he has made a great choice if it is his decision, training horses in NZ outside of the TA bubble is not for the faint hearted and even with the backing of an entity like TA training succesfully in Aus at those major tracks is probably the toughest gig in the world. He sounds switched on enough to understand all that.
  5. Just when you think it can't get any worse, NZTR are mentioned too many times in that report for my future level of comfort.
  6. His enthusiasm has probably diminished considerably and he is probably riding on the coat tails of the incredibly gifted Sweeney in the CD 😃 , but you'd have to agree it's got to be hardwork doing nzracing with any sort of genuine enthusiasm. 😉
  7. I'm like him I thought the leader was home, it certainly looked it, you must have a very good eye JB ; 0
  8. I thought the likes of Stratford were decommisioned as a race track and Hawera was soon to follow? I guess it goes to show how completely worthless BS Venue Plan has been.
  9. Like NZracing it doesn't sound like they have much of a future?
  10. Is the grass made of plastic?
  11. Help to make sneakers in one of the sweat shops in China???
  12. What's going on with all the Police/ Security guards at Te Rapa amongst the crowd ? Are they expecting the unvaxxed to do a run on the place? Is it the new border? No IWI available on the day? There to stop Jamie Richards making a run for HK early? Putting the track back in between races?
  13. What are the odds they will get through the entire race day?
  14. It's obvoius to me why they don't, its a very very competitive environment in Aus. and the spread of quality on a far grander scale , in NZ not so much if at all , particularly at the moment
  15. Good luck to him , what a great opportunity for him, you'd think looking at his work ethic he will go well. Undoubtedly the entire merry go round is another thumbs up for the future of nz racing!
  16. Youre probably right, my punting is so bad these days my account needs constant loading!
  17. I gave it a good go and I'm calling it a flop for racing but pretty good for other sports.
  18. It seems like the lessons aren't just for RACE but NZTR also, hopefully the report alludes to that.
  19. Agree I have found it better and don't mind it, but the results part needs a sort out sometimes the hamster wheel never stops.
  20. Yep especially the results, perhaps it's all the new traffic from people who can't get into retail stores 🙄
  21. The sport is dead in the water in this country, these sorts of things are only the beginning. They get them going and then realise the horse racing side of things doesn't mix with the other areas , so guess what happens ...
  22. I'll relunctantly go in with you Thomas if youre struggling to find friends. LOVERACING.NZ, together with New Zealand Bloodstock, is giving Thoroughbred owners the chance to finally get their friends and family to Share the Thrill of racehorse ownership! If you’ve ever tried to explain to friends and family that indescribable feeling of seeing your own horse race (and win!) then you will understand there is simply nothing like it. Now, you can take them on the ride with you, sharing the excitement, emotion, fun and thrills first-hand! Share the Thrill is the ultimate ownership competition where you and your team could win a share in a Thoroughbred yearling purchased from New Zealand Bloodstock's National Yearling Sales Series in March 2022. It's FREE to take part, and it's as simple as entering a team of four - with you, as an owner, the skipper, and three mates who are not racehorse owners and are new to this great industry of ours - and you're in to win! The prize: A 10% share* in a Thoroughbred yearling purchased at Karaka 2022 Training costs covered for up to two years or until the horse's first race (up to $400 per month) Flights for the winning team of four to Auckland on Saturday 5th March 2022 (if not local), returning Monday 7th March 2022 Tickets, hospitality and VIP on-course experience at Vodafone Derby Day, Ellerslie on Saturday 5th March Bespoke Stud Tour (or similar activity) on Sunday 6th March The winning team will be hosted at New Zealand Bloodstock's National Yearling Sale Series on Monday 7th March 2022 - including a Thoroughbred Experience Tour Two nights' twin-share accommodation in Auckland Breakfast and lunch provided on Sunday 6th and Monday 7th March Transport between venues supplied
  23. You'd think so, but probably not with this lot. More likely volume of alchohol sales, number tables/tents sold etc. All stuff that's relatively easy to control and consistent in demand. The wagering I'd be surprised if they even thought about it, take the AWT for example why hasn't the apparent success of that racing been conveyed to the industry?
  24. Less is more right .... right???
