Inner Mongolia Rider Horse Industry is no more!
nomates replied to Gospel of Judas's topic in Galloping Chat
The thing was that they just buying and sending horses of all description up there and nothing ever seemed to happen . China is big enough if they truly wanted horse racing on a big scale it would have happened years ago , there was never a real will . -

He is to blame for everything , i called him the undertaker the other day , gave him too much credit there , he hasn't got that much humour in him . But if he was an undertaker i'm sure even the dead would get up and leave the room . -
They already are , not just being sold , anything that is rated is being xfered to an Aus stable . The pony races are getting closer .
-
As with any business if you are top of the tree business works differently for you , TA have years of experience doing this so i'm sure NZB have a great deal of trust in TA's ability to sell horses .
-
This is very much so , probably not so many now but plenty used to buy yearlings on tick with NZB , they do have a financing division . The yearlings were bought to prepare for the RTRs , the buyers only paid interest until horse sale , then acct cleared when sold . Know of a few who's horses didn't sell and left with large bills to clear . NZB just clipping the ticket at every step .

Many , many haven't , thousands of small/medium punter walked , hence the poor turnovers . Only the old farts putting up with the mediocrity because if we stop , we die .

I don't know if you watched Sharrock on Weigh In , but crickey he has picked up the dribble lines quickly . Some big things in the pipe line apparently , hopefully there will still someone around to read the media releases .
-
Hey Sharrock said betting on the A/W's is up 4% here and 6% in Aus , so things are on the up , but the rate horses are being sold out of the country they will be bringing pony races back on the A/W's . Will trainers charge less because ponies are only 3/4 the size ?.

Got plenty thanks Joe , i take it no one else followed your tip . -
All the talk was that Arbre Chene wouldn't see the distance , 2000mtrs , but LP rode an absolute gem , the horse wouldn't have known that he had gone past a mile he had such a soft run . LP had earlier in the day had won the 2yo stakes race on Yir Tiz for Rogie . I wonder how many of todays apprentices even know who LP is and what he achieved , actually many of our senior riders probably know very little of him , watching some of his wins should be mandatory viewing at apprentice school .

The best example i can give for you is to think about running on a grass park , now go and run on the beach , slightly different . But if all we did was run on beaches then over time we would become more competent on them . Runners would change their actions and the way they trained . It's the same with wet track horses , a large proportion of them have high knee actions which are suited to going thru a heavy track but don't work on hard surfaces . If we decided to race on nothing but A/W tracks then it would take generations of breeding to get to the stage of having a sustainable population of A/W racehorses . Countries that have been doing it for decades have those populations . As most people i know have said religiously if they had maintained and restructured the existing tracks we wouldn't be in this position . What they are doing at Ellerslie should have been done 20+ years ago , along with a lot of other well used tracks . Imagine if they had had the foresight to do that .
-
Well done on the win Pam , meant to PM you but just kept forgetting , age/memory, numerous other weak excuses ? Hope there is a few more wins on the horizon . But you owe me , if i had backed him there was no way he was getting home .

The numbers that showed up at the first Cambridge meeting was an embarrassment , and shows what a pointless exercise these tracks are from a racing point of view . Going to be interesting to see how numbers at Riccarton hold up as we move thru winter . The numbers that have shown up at Avondale and Matamata the week before might help them going forward in the shorter term as those horses that couldn't handle the wet grass tracks might give the A/W track a go . To answer your other points regarding why low numbers at Cambridge , 1. Most horses that race in winter and like rain affected tracks do so most of the time because they aren't quick enough on good tracks and so need races that are run at a slower pace . Some need slower tracks because of confirmation faults , which can be generational , which means they can't run on good surfaces . Read the article on the NZTR home page about Spring Tide , has conformational issues that prevent him racing on good surfaces . 2. There will be plenty of horses that simply wont handle the A/W surface , all for varying reasons , one of the most frequent will be action , in the USA dirt racing is prevalent and horses have been bred for generations to race on dirt so will have physical traits that have allowed them to become proficient on these surfaces . Many top dirt performing stallions have been tried in Australasia and failed , i would suggest the latest is American Pharoah , JMO . 3.Very few horses used to be sold off heavy track wins but as demand for horses has grown there are many more horses being sold off wet track wins , owners desperate to buy a horse and take the risk , i have seen a few over the last 3/4 years that haven't gone on in Aus ? They are also gambling on the NZ form stacking up and a lot are going over and just not being up to city class . As for sales off A/W's i can't say as i haven't got the connections i used to since these have come into use , but i would think the Aussies especially aren't stupid , even they know that A/W winners are such for a reason and hence might have a limited ceiling .

Hi Joe , you are correct , RdC is a glorious looking horse with performance to match , unfortunately for him , as you know stallions can be quickly labeled , and he was , going to leave slow maturing horses , which he does . But he is one of those rare stallions , he allows the mare some say in what the progeny are going to be , so you breed a slow maturing staying mare , that's what you get , put a speed mare to him the progeny has some speed . As with everything it's not an exact science . Unfortunately it was too late for him commercially when people started waking up to him , i'm sure Williams was advocating him as a broad spectrum stallion when he started , but then all studs say it , in this case he was right , but all too late . A couple of posts each now , does that mean we're dating ? Cheers . -

Hey Joe , good to see you back posting . I drop in occasionally to see what's happening but the place has become like a grave yard since we were last posting , and i see the same undertaker is still in attendance , acting like a miserable fecking Arkwright , still argumentative and disagreeable , and scaring all the children . At least Ronnie Barker made you laugh . Are you going to stick around ? if you are might look in more often , although we might be talking to ourselves , maybe Pam and Huey will join in more as well , how about it Pam and Huey . Pleased i looked in and perhaps you can breath some life back into the ailing site . Cheers mate . -
The Anti-Racing Beat-Up Using Years Old Video of Sir Mark Todd
nomates replied to Joe Bloggs's topic in Galloping Chat
As i thought , you are not big enough and too ignorant to know when you have overstepped the mark . What you don't get is the video was in all probability not even posted an anti racing person but a horse lover , someone who cares about horses , as i am , has nothing to do with racing , that is your agenda . You can post a picture of Mark Todd jumping a fence to show what he has accomplished but unfortunately for him all he has achieved has been undone by 20 seconds of ugliness . You don't get it and are too ignorant to understand that others do . I will no longer be participating on the forum as i have had gutsful of your know all bullying attitude . Last person out turn the lights out , oh , that will be you . -

You know nothing about me or my training methods or how i treated my horses so do not make assumptions that are overstepping the mark . If you wish to apologise i will accept it . Your know all attitude has gone a step too far . I have removed Joe's name as he is big enough to defend himself . -
Definitely the more dangerous of all snakes , at least the ones on their guts are clear and obvious snakes .

i heard on the radio talk of having his knighthood removed . Whatever a persons feelings are in relation to this it is not a good look for such a high profile equestrian rider . -

Sue , sue , sue . Take him for everything , right down to his jandels . -
There are still jockeys who are having nightmares from when Kotare Chief won the Auckland cup .

Not sure about him getting his foot in here again , left Palmy in a bit of a mess , and Blandford wasn't in to flash a state when he left them ears ago . Might have done his chips here .

She's smart for sure , plus a bit more race savvy than the other filly who only had the 2 races , certainly not saying she's not smart but that other filly done it a lot tougher whereas the winner got a lovely run 1 off with a smother . But that's racing always open to conjecture , next couple of races will tell more , perhaps there is nothing between them but the run of the race .
